The best thing I can say about Rasoi is that the whole experience feels like I am eating my mom's food at home. The service is always great. The ambiance is warm and cozy, I enjoy that it is more casual and not as done up as a true sit down restaurant. The food is delicious every time. Some fantastic korma here! Restaurant is small but cozy, with benches and pillows. Ordered at the counter and was brought my chicken korma bowl combo and mango lassi pretty quickly, they were not busy at all. The bowl was still quite a large portion and came with rice. Food was packaged well and prepared quickly for take out. Portions were large and everything tasted fresh. The lamb in particular was perfectly tender. There was a little too much sweetness in the tika masala for my liking but other than that, the consistency was good and the flavor was there. Rice was perfectly cooked and the roti was also good. Samosas were crispy and flavorful. The restaurant itself is pretty small and I think this place is probably more conducive to take out than dining in. However, I did see one or two tables--someone looked to be studying. Overall, a pretty good option and I'd like to try their burritos. though parking can be a little tough. read more

It is the best Indian cuisine we have ever had and we have eaten at many different Indian restaurants because we love Indian food. This is my favorite Indian food in Ventura by far. The butter chicken is incredible. I always get butter chicken, garlic naan, and an order of samosa's! The mango lassi is so delicious as well. I have brought many friends and family here and we always have a wonderful time sitting inside and enjoying our meal! The staff is so great. I've been meaning to write this review for a long time, and it's definitely overdue. I truly can't imagine living in Ventura without Indian Rasoi just down the street from us. The service is consistently wonderful. Every interaction we've had with their team has been warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can feel that they care, and that makes such a difference. The space itself is cozy and inviting, which is why we usually choose to dine in rather than take our food to go. It's the kind of place where you can relax and really enjoy your meal. And the food never disappoints. We've yet to order something that wasn't excellent. The flavors are rich and beautifully balanced. Our favorites are the butter chicken, chicken korma, and the vegetable dishes, all of which are full of depth and flavor. As Ventura locals, we're so grateful to have Indian Rasoi in our neighborhood. We don't eat out often, but when we do, this is one of our very favorite spots. read more

Found this place cause it actually popped up on my social media and decided to try it for dinner tonight - YUM ! So glad we did , it was surprisingly very good . I should've known it was good when I saw some of my YES ladies vouch for it too! The place was definitely a hole in the wall and had me looking around a little as we approached but inside it was authentic and I knew we made the right choice . We ordered via Yelp and our food was promptly made on time and still warm / fresh . We ordered what's shown and everything was amazing . I stepped out of my comfort zone of Chicken Tikka Misala and opted for the Vindaloo and Yello Dahl - never having neither of them and the vindaloo was my favorite . Just the right amount the spice ! The only thing I would change is more garlic on the garlic naan but other than that - no complaints here and we will definitely be back ! Read online about their curry burritos and had to come give them a try. Restaurant is a little smaller but super cozy and comfortable to eat in. We got chicken tikka masala wrapped up in naan with some garnish thrown inside. All in all, it was a pretty good burrito. It didn't hold as well as a typical burrito and fell apart easily, but I feel that's a bit to be expected. The chicken was juicy, but overall the burrito was a little dry - definitely needed more sauce. The strawberry lassi was delicious - always a favorite. A good stop for Indian food. read more

Best Indian spot in Ventura. The menu isn't huge, but it's has plenty of options depending on what you want. Love the combo plates so you can try multiple things without spending a bunch of money. Fabulous Indian restaurant that's a whole in the wall type in Ventura off the avenue. My friend suggested this spot for a weekday lunch and I was happy to give it a try as I'd heard good things about this restaurant. You order at the counter and they have a large overhead hanging menu with all of the fixings. It was a clear menu with great specials and multi item meals so you can try a little bit of everything. Prices were also reasonable for the portions and the staff here were very friendly and nice. A kind woman took our order at the counter and helped us navigate the menu noting her recommendations based on our taste. A gentleman was working the back cooking and brought the food to our table. Everyone here was great. Efficient service despite ordering for yourself. I tried my usuals which were the chicken tikka masala, yellow dal, rice and plain naan. Everything was tasty and made fresh to order from what I could tell. Delicious food and definitely a 4.5/5 in overall flavors. I loved every bite and my friend was happy with her meal as well. For a no frills little spot it was fabulous and a clear favorite amongst the locals. We slowly noticed the tables filling up on a Monday at opening so it's safe to say this spot could probably get decently busy on the weekends. I've been spending a lot of time in Ventura lately and have always struggled with finding a decent place to grab a bite (there are lots of highly ranked restaurants in the area that are just not good) and I was pleasantly surprised after finding Indian Rasoi! I called in an order for a butter chicken burrito and a chicken tikka masala burrito for pick up. Both were on garlic naan and had modifications on toppings and they nailed it. The burritos are massive and super saucy. Half a burrito was way, way more than enough. We ate it in the car and it was messy but oh so worth it! The flavors are delicious and the chicken was juicy. It was so good that I ordered a third one to go, and asked for it to be extra spicy. That one sat for an hour before being eaten and was easier for them to eat because the naan soaked in the sauce - so it's better to let it sit. Making it spicy takes it to a whole new level! I enjoyed the mint sauce more than the tamarind. Definitely will be back! Super friendly service, small dining room, clean bathroom, and easy street parking. read more

For an Indian restaurant that offers smaller, individual-sized deals, this place is very good and worth a try. I came in during my lunch break and had a great little meal for about $14. The quality of the butter chicken and chicken tiki masala was not great, but just okay. Fortunately the sauce and spice level was great and garlic naan was crispy on the bottom and soft on the top. I saw this place as I was visiting my friend across the street on Ventura Ave. He said it was pretty good and I decided it would be something different other than the usual Mexican restaurants in the area. Upon entering it looked like a simple yet cool place. Not being very familiar with Indian food I ordered a two entree combo plate of Lamb Tikka Marsala and mixed vegetables along with rice. Not big but there's a few tables inside. I got a bowl with chicken tiki masala and rice. My bf got a 2 entre plate with lamb and chicken tiki masala. He also ordered a chai tea. We also got garlic naan. Everything was so affordable and delicious. I think this is my fave Indian now due to their portions and flavors! They don't skimp at all! Customer service was ok. They seem pretty busy with to go orders didn't really have the time to be friendly.
