They have an excellent selection of Indian food and everything I've had has been absolutely delicious. For dinner, I especially like the thalis that include rice, naan, soup, a vegetable dish, and yogurt with the main entree. They also have excellent Indian drinks, desserts, and sides. This is a restaurant that gives you the kind of experience that you only get when you eat at a neighborhood restaurant that your family has been coming to for generations. It's a beautiful little restaurant with some beautiful Indian souvenirs available for purchase. The service is the best that I've ever had. The owner was warm and friendly; she talked to us as if we were her nephews. She patiently explained the menu and the different types of curries they offer. I opted for the lamb curry and my buddy had the butter chicken. I tried to go for maximum spice level but was advised against it so I went for 4 out of 5 spice level. We ordered 2 curries, mango lassi, Nan, and a desi salad. It was our first time ordering and the curries + Nan looked great! Unfortunately the desi salad had no seasonings and was just cut up vegetables with lemon slices. I had to add my own salt to it. While mixing up the vegetables I noticed that there was a tiny hair or eyelash on the cucumber. It really ruined our appetite :( didn't want to eat the curry after seeing that. read more

Ordered take out from this restaurant finally after years of saying "I've got to try this spot". My review is strictly for my takeout experience as I wasn't able to speak to the service or atmosphere of the restaurant. Initially I was impressed with the many food options available through their website. The menu is extensive and had a little bit of everything that I like. It was a great first impression seeing that their were options. The pricing I thought was average, a little higher for me but the portions were good and so was the flavor, that this helped cancel out the cost factor a little bit for me and would not detour me from coming back. Also for take out I can appreciate when the packages are wrapped safely and neatly. Plus they didn't forget any items so an easy A+ for a delivery / takeout experience. The food here was good but maybe I had too high of expectations for this spot after all these years of reading reviews and wanting to go? I think for Camarillo it's an easy 5 stars as were limited for good Indian food in this city and for convenience & being tasty, I get why the reviews are so awesome. However, given that there are a good amount of indian restaurants up and over the grade, I didn't feel that this spot fully competed with my local spots in Newbury and Thousand Oaks. In comparison that's where I ranked this spot more of a 4/5. Still really good don't get me wrong, just wouldn't be my first go to choice and that's totally okay. The dishes I had were simple but classic. Went with butter chicken, white rices, and chicken tikka masala. Basic dishes I know, but that's the minimum standard of dishes to help me assess how much I'll like a spot. I will say the portion size was great and I love how saucy these dishes are, they don't skimp. A good amount of chicken and the rice was enough to have multiple servings. Both chicken dishes had good flavor and were spiced well. My biggest criticism was that the butter chicken and tikka masala were literally almost identical. I get naturally they are similar because of the spices and flavors, but this was almost like eating two of the same dishes, a little disappointed. Had they not labeled the containers I would have sworn they just gave me two of the same dishes, but they was not the case. I get both of these dishes at other restaurants all of the time and there is always a distinct flavor and coloring of the dishes that is noticeable, here just too similar for me. All that to say I won't order both dishes here at once and will be more mindful to get something with variety next time. All in all the food is good and it's really nice to have an Indian option in Camarillo with how limited we are. I will definitely be back to try some more dishes and excited to report back if going a little more adventurous helped up the score on this spot. read more

I believe I have tried every dish on their menu by now (until they add more!), and every single one of them is delicious. New items are regularly added to the menu, both traditional and some more inventive items like Tikka Masala Poutine. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful, and are dedicated to making your meal a delightful experience. Whether dining in or ordering takeout, I am always impressed with how quickly my food is ready. The seating area is small, but never gets crowded or loud, making it a perfect place to share a meal and a conversation. This restaurant holds a very special place in my heart. It started with a visit to their restaurant to try some of their delicious food. I was thoroughly impressed with how fresh and tasty their food is! This visit coincided with my wedding planning - and one day it struck me that I'd love for Fresh Curry Chefs to cater dessert for my wedding day. The team here is AWESOME. Kiran and Yash are the kindest, most genuine, hard working people. They worked closely with us to carefully curate our wedding dessert bar, pick and order dessert packaging that would match our aesthetics, and everything in between. We kept in close contact with them throughout the process, and they always answered any questions we had for them promptly. And let me tell you, our dessert bar was a HIT! People raved about all the desserts. Our only regret is that we wished we ordered much, much more for our guests! I have been here twice and each time it has satisfied my curry cravings! It seems like a small family owned atmosphere. I have got both orders to go and it's been ready exactly the time they tell me it will be. I will say that these meals are big so if you don't plan on getting family size, make sure you emphasize that...but honestly I ate my curry for lunch for two days because it was so much. Everything is packed with flavor from the garlic buttered naan to the butter curry! I would definitely come here again and give this a try if you're craving curry and naan! We had a little difficulty finding this restaurant, but it was so worth it! Parking is in back. I went with my friend who has been to India a few times, I've only been to Indian restaurants, and we had some Super delicious food I haven't seen locally! Of special note: Dahi Puri are little flavor bombs! Order early because they are made fresh and take a couple of minutes to make. And Momo, the fried one. I'll try the steamed one next time. Don't worry that there aren't a lot of dine-in patrons, they had a steady stream of delivery people picking up orders. So people do love the food. The Chettinad Curry is absolutely delicious! I eat here multiple times a week when I am here for work and have never been disappointed.

Food: Excellent curry! The saag paneer was great, chicken korma was solid, naan was puffy and delicious. Also had the galub jamun was good for desert. Really solid Indian food in Camarillo! Atmosphere: The place is a little small inside, not good for big groups, but if you take it "to-go" you should be fine. Also, they serve on paper plates, which I like because they are bio-degradable. Word of the wise though - parking in the area was bad. I think there was something going on at the Legion Hall because I drove around for about 20 minutes until a parking space opened up. Price: Middle of the road, not too expensive, just right for good Indian food. Expect to pay about 20$ per person. Service: Probably the best part, the owner (I think?) was super nice! She kept coming over to ask how the food was, I could tell she was really interested in making a good impression. She started telling us stories of the food and her family, I thought she was very sweet and seeing how important it was that people enjoyed her food made me feel very comfortable. Was in the neighborhood and gave this place a try. I liked how clean the kitchen looks in the back. The chefs were all dressed in white chef's coat. This is my favorite Indian restaurant, it's a small family owned type restaurant that serves amazing food and let me tell you I have had a lot of Indian food! This is my all-time favorite for all of LA! They have dishes that are unique and not common at many places. For instance the saag paneer ( spinach cheese) typically is only that but at this restaurant you can get saag with chicken! It's my ultimate favorite dish! They have also have take-home to cook meals so that it's pre-prepped and you just have to cook it at home I haven't yet tried that because I just am in love with the way they cook it and I'm usually super hungry when I purchase, so I have something to look forward soon the portions are pretty robust so you can definitely share or have Indian for several days! I have ordered the Himalayan curry. The butter chicken is to die for, the chicken biryani rice they can make it spicy to your liking, yogurt is amazing, Saag chicken, lamb curry, samosa, this potato pea appetizer.. all delish and am so bummed I've been missing out for so long but so happy I have the option for amazing Indian in Camarillo!! read more

This place has been on my radar for over a year. I am so glad we got the chance to finally go. I was a little confused ordering as to the portions. They will ask if you want one or two portions. If you want extra for the next day get 2 portions. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala and Jeff got the Shrimp Masala Curry. Both dishes were wonderful. DON'T miss the garlic naan. YUM!!!! Unfortunately the waiter made a mistake when writing down my order. They refused to refund me for extra charges as a result of that mistake. Making a mistake is okay. My husband and I stumbled in after finding this little place on yelp and it has now quickly become our favorite spot and had no idea they also own the Himalaya Restaurant on the Avenue in Ventura! We had a beautiful visit with the owner, who is so sweet and enjoyed our meal which you could tell was made with absolute love. She told us the story of how they opened only a few months before Covid and how they survived because of the amazing VC community love and support for their delicious food. We always love this place! When you first walk in the door you're greeted with the warm fragrant spices that tickle our noses and make us smile. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We usually do takeout, so I was surprised when thy brought beautiful white plates of food that looked as wonderful as it smelled and tasted. The creamy sauces are so delicious! Portions are generous, food was exploding with flavor, and the cashier was knowledgeable about the food (as there were many options we had no clue what they were). When we were done, the owner (I believe her name is Corrine) came over and asked how we enjoyed our meal, and thanked us for coming in.
