So a guy that I volunteer with grew up in Camarillo and told me that this is his favorite place to eat. I work in Cam and have never heard of it so I went to check it out. When I walked in, I first noticed how clean it looks. I smelled the Indian food smells and haven't really been a fan of Indian food but because of his confidence I would love this place, I decided to stay. I didn't know what to get but I like chicken so I ordered the Butter chicken. I also ordered rice and garlic Na'an bread. I ordered it to go and it did take a while but that is because they cook everything fresh. I'll Wait for fresh food so no problem there. When I got back to my office and unpacked, the Indian food smell was strong. I mixed some of my rice with the chicken and tasted it. GOOD LORD ALMIGHTY JESUS IN HEAVEN it was delicious. We tried Fresh Curry Chefs for the first time this past weekend and we were very impressed! The staff are so friendly, and the food was delicious. We tried three different entrées and they were all good. The veggie dishes were delightful as well. We will definitely be making this restaurant part of our regular rotation whenever we are in the Oxnard/Camarillo area. The only critique I could make is I wish the rice came with the meal. I understand charging extra for biryani, but white rice should come with the entrée, in my opinion. Two thumbs up!! read more

Fresh curry chefs so far has been absolutely delicious! My fiancé and I stopped in on their third day of being open, and we were graciously welcomed into the restaurant. They are still working on the decorations and final touches of the atmosphere, but the food was fresh and ready to take home. They offer healthy take-home kits to make fresh Indian dishes in 15 minutes. Perfect for students or busy families! They also offer food to-go, if you don't have time to go home and cook your meal. Their "Frankies" are traditional meals wrapped in naan bread, and the look like a burrito. We tried two of the Frankies and both were absolutely amazing! The chicken tikka masala Frankie really hot the spot. We ordered the aloo gobi meal kit, and with 6 simple steps, I was able to make a meal for two in just a few minutes. The meal kit comes with easy instructions and labeled containers, so if you are new to cooking, or new to cooking Indian food, you are still able to cook a meal that tastes great. We decided to make our own rice to add to the meal. The lovely employees were so kind to not only explain they their goal is to provide quick and easy fresh meals, but make sure people are eating good food without a hefty price tag. They employees also were kind enough to treat us to their mango lassi (I hope I spelt that right, it's a smoothie), and their pudding for free. Everything we left the restaurant with was incredibly yummy and fresh. I was pleased with the entire service and experience, and I really hope this place thrives. My suggestion to the owners of the restaurant: take advantage of the college population. Putting a sticker or window decal with the university logo will catch the attention of commuting students. As a CSUCI alumni, I can speak from experience when I say there are not many options for food after 9pm for students. Staying open until 10 or so will give lots of students and other working families the option to grab a yummy bite after work or class. This is definitely a place to check out, especially if you prefer fresh "mom and pop" establishments over fast food. read more

Ok- let's start by admitting I bought way too much food. I wanted to make it all, but settled for three dishes to try and cook at home. Honestly- I had reservations about my abilities to make veggie biryani, chicken tika masala, and veggie korma. But it went surprisingly well. I managed to dig deep and find my inner chef to create a feast that would rival most Indian restaurants in the area. The fresh ingredients were premeasured and ready to use. No prep involved, just follow the instructions, and 10 minutes later there was a feast for my family to enjoy. The flavor of the food was amazing, and I really love the idea of single serve meals to cook rather than ordering a weeks worth of ingredients in other meal kits. Absolute 10/10 in food and service! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, our waiter recommended delicious beer and the food was absolutely phenomenal! Their curry is very obviously made with love and you can just tell how talented the chefs are. Im not so sure about this place. Im not indian but its much different than the authentic Indian restaurants I'm used to from Santa Barbara. So far ive had their spinach curries, korma and biryanis and its ok but not the best Indian food I've ever had. Ive never seen tomatoes in spinach curries which was a little weird. Absolutely undeniably delicious! Came here for the first time with my husband after moving into the area. We had a serious craving for Indian food and had to try this place out. Their 2 serving portions were perfect for us and very filling. We had the veggie korma with a side of rice and two orders of naan (plain and garlic). Oh my it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. A nice touch is their prepared meals that they sell that allow you too cook your own Indian cuisine at home.
