    Thursdays lunch special. Yummy

Fantastic Indian food. I got the lunch special and it was great with lots of flavor. If I was a local, this would be my to go spot for Indian food.

Indian Flames sits in the HMart shopping center, right behind Curly's Comfort Food and right where a well known Italian restaurant used to be in Levittown. Its floor plan is simple and clean, and service friendly and efficient. Son and I stopped in to check out the kitchen after having done the same at another good Indian house in Newtown (Guru). Although we shared everything, he ordered Lamb Korma and I Mushroom Matar along with the Chef Special appetizer Chili Pakora, Garlic Naan and Mango Lassis for us to flush the curry heat. First impressions - Very positive. All dishes were freshly made. The Chili Pakora was a long hot green pepper, bisected with chickpea flour jacket to hold it together. Lovely colors and hidden spice heart that was dolled up with semi sweet tamarind sauce. Liked it a lot. The Lamb Korma was tender in its tomato cashew sauce. Tasty. The Mushroom Matar was vegetarian with chunky shrooms and peas in a moderate red curry. Excellent. So, too, the garlic naan, which was hot from the tandoor when it reached us. Perfect for scooping all the sauces from the bowls and platters to our mouths. Very thin texture that maintained crispness to the end of the meal. The mango lassis were nicely sweet and silky; very good fire retardants for burning tongue and lip. Surprisingly, the prices were very competitive with our local curry shops closer to home. Given the quality is almost indistinguishable from each other, Indian Flames has a really good thing going and could be a long term winner in the turmeric wars. We will keep them on our short list of worthy Indian kitchens.

This restaurant is amazing and I love their buttered lamb. I highly recommend trying their mango lassi.

Hence the scale of 0 lowest to 7 highest. We started off with an order of the chicken Samosa and I will tell you it was probably one of the top to samosas that we've had nice and soft not oily greasy the meat mix inside was just sensational dipping sauces a real treat. For a two entrées that we shared, one was the lamb Rogan Josh, pieces of landmarinated and yogurt with herbs spiced cooked in a special gravy it was a home run comfy food kind of meal. We ordered space at three next time I think we're gonna do a five want the flavor profile. The second dish was the Malabar chicken stew which is kerala style chicken stew recipe in a rich coconut milk curry stewed with vegetables chunks and chicken and flavored with Malabar coast spices a very nice dish. we ordered it at a three spice. next time I think I'm going for five or six on spice to get that flavor profile. Overall first experience, nicely surprised! Everything was extremely fresh already had a really nice aroma good taste friendly service at the door of course. See my photos

I didn't know about this place until my buddy was grabbing food from here and told me this cook was previously at a Restaurant called Zaika in the NE on Grant Ave. His favorite dish is the Chicken 65 - Deep-fried marinated chicken, sautéed with bell peppers, onions, curry leaves, and mustard seeds. The inside has a buffet set up and over a dozen booth/quad tables for dining in. They had a TV playing Indian pop music and a lot of pictures on the walls. I picked up take out for both orders - My family and I had several different menu items and all of them fell in the good to great window. Chicken Kebabs were a little light on spice and size as compared to some other places I frequent. They were good and fresh though. Chicken Tikka dry - tender, juicy, fresh and delicious. Can't go wrong with this one! Chana Masala - chick peas in curry sauce - the wife has enjoyed this dish twice so far. Gave it a thumbs up. Vegetable Samosa - pastry filled with seasoned potatoes and green peas, deep-fried to a crispy golden finish. Not total grease bombs and pretty spicy. Too much for the wife, but I thought they were average good samosas. Not a bad thing. Chicken Makhani aka Butter Chicken - Cooked in a Buttery Cream sauce - I thought it was a tad too creamy/buttery, but the sauce mixed in well with the basmati rice from my biryani. Chicken biryani - Basmati rice cooked with marinated chicken, onions, cashew nuts, raisins, and a blend of Indian spices, flavored with saffron. You can get it with bone in chicken or boneless. The rice was seasoned really well. You get a lot in one order. Can easily feed three people. Plain naan - delicious and fresh. Overall, we are more than happy to continue to order our go-to's from here. The woman who took my order and met me at the counter was very nice. Keep in mind if your ordering give yourself some extra time. I had a typical 40-45 minute wait for a 4-5 dish order. I thought the prices were fair. Thanks guys, see you again soon!

We visited as a group of six and sampled a wide variety of dishes--and every single one was a hit. We wrapped up the meal with the Kesar Pista Falooda, which was the perfect ending. We left with full stomachs and even fuller hearts. This restais in a plaza filled with Indian restaurants and stores, gives you a feeling of oak tree rd or Jackson heights in a strip mall. After we got here, we realized that this was a vegetarian restaurant and instead of walking to the restaurant next door, we stuck to our original choice and we're not disappointed. The restaurant is a self order restaurant thats was fairly new. The restaurant was full but not crowded. The service was good and they can make food based on your level of spice tolerance. There was a dish that I hadn't tried before, bd the person at the counter gave me a very well detailed explanation that made my decisioning a Lil easier. The food was great. I enjoyed the chat, nothing extraordinary, unless you are eating it for the 2nd or 3rd time. Overall a good experience, don't forget to try Thums up!! You will never go back to Pepsi or coke again.
