Wow I saw this restaurant had good reviews so I ordered. I ordered the korma and when it arrived I I was not only underwhelmed I would rate this as the one of the worst kormas I've ever eaten. The sauce is water thin fire hot and has no complexity. I would argue I wouldn't even call this a curry as it it would be too thin to even call a soup.The rice I was what I could only call boil in a bag rice. Good rice is separated and fluffy this was horrible. The previous reviews must have been from an old owner or chef this was garbage. My wife and I came here for a new Indian restaurant to try and your Yelp reviews made it seem quite good. Indian Garden was a solid 3 1/2 stars to me but I rounded up tonight. The restaurant was extremely busy tonight. Right in the center of the room they had a few tables pushed together with an assembly line of paper bags with meals to go for food delivery services who were also making lots of tips. My wife and I were quickly seated in one of the only open spots in the restaurant but unfortunately was directly in the line of cold air every time the main door opened. The large rooms were noisy and the wait to get a table was getting longer as was the service. We had relatively slow and inattentive service but I'll attribute this to just how busy the place was. My wife and I ordered the "Dinner for Two" which included Samosas, Chicken Tikka, Tandoor Shrimp, Lamb Mango, Vegetable Makhani, Basmati Rice, Garlic Naan, and Rice Pudding. You have your choice of mild, medium, hot, or "Indian Hot" which is probably what I would have wanted, but my wife wanted mild and that's what we went with. Because of this, although everything tasted quite good, there was just no pop of spiciness that I like. Mild is almost bland. The best of the bunch was the vegetable makhani. The samosas were also decent. Overall, we had a nice meal and conversation. $60 including tax and tip for the "Dinner for Two." Absolute gas. Ordered takeout last night and I have to say, this is easily a top 3 Indian food experience for me. Each dish was packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. Why on Earth has it taken me so long to come to Indian Garden?? THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS! First thing is first, do NOT be put off by it being in a shopping center. The fact that it is both in Yardley AND in a shopping center really made me quetion the authenticity of the Indian food inside, but truly it is great. We ordered the dinner for two because I thought it would be a great way to enjoy a few dishes and see what the place was about (and incredibly well priced). We came as soon as they opened on a Friday and it was pretty quiet inside but they had TONS of to go orders leaving. The dinner started off with two perfect samosas and delicious complimentary sauces. Next came all the goodness of chicken tikka, tandoori shrimp, lamb mango, vegetable makhani, basmati rice, and garlic naan! Honestly, do not know which dish was better than the rest because each one of them was phenomenal. Then at the end they came by with rice pudding and even added some complimentary smoothies because we mentioned it was our first time here. The place is BYOB and have incredibly attentive service. We had people stopping by to fill our water every two seconds and when the cooks came out with the dishes, he even chatted a bit with us. Then my son had his stuffy (a monkey) and one of the guys came over to play with him and made him a monkey from a cloth napkin (it was incredibly sweet). Good place recommended by a local friend of mine. They had a lot of help here, and almost everyone was able to take small orders throughout the meal (for example, "one more soda" or "we need more rice"). We were lucky we got there right after opening (5pm) because the place got pretty full, and they were quickly loaded with take-out orders... they dedicated a whole long table for bags that were for different take-out orders. Service got a little bit spotty for a while because of how busy they were, but it was still OK. We waited about 10 to 15 minutes for a Chai that my wife ordered to go just before we paid the bill. I couldn't wait to get out of there by that point... But the good was good. Chicken Tikka Masala was nice, I liked the Mulligatawny soup even though there weren't very many actual lentils in it... I want crazy about the Chicken Soup though... very salty. In the end, the lady said she was so proud of my daughter having maintained her vegetarian status since this past June, she brought her a free Canoli for dessert. My favorite Indian restaurant in the area! They have the best GARLIC NAAN and CHICKEN MUGLAI. I've also gotten the regular NAAN and CHICKEN CURRY and CHICKEN KORMA but I prefer what I previously mentioned. The service is friendly and pretty efficient. I've eaten in and taken out from here and the quality of both are equal. I'm always full and satisfied by the end of the meal with plenty of leftovers--and I'm a big eater. I would give this place a million stars if I could. I first discovered this place after I moved back home from NJ. As a fan of Indian food, I was distraught by the lack of Indian food in the area. But to my surprise, this place had just opened and I was one of their first customers. At this point, it was half the size it is now. And let me tell you, everything you can eat here is as good if not better than what you can find in New Jersey. The interior is lovely, great ambiance. There is not one bad dish on the menu. The family is warm and all working various roles in the restaurant. They have gotten to know me very well and even recognize my go-to orders. Looks like we are in the minority - rating wise. This is one of those places that's hard to rate. It's not a 3 but also not a 4 but there isn't a 3.5 so.... At this time it's Take Out only with social distancing rules being observed and one door to enter and a completely different door at the other side of the restaurant to exit. The menu is enormous. Everything we had was Ok to Good, except for the Chicken Korma (chicken in a mild cream sauce , garnished with almonds and cashews) which was Very Good. For an appetizer we had Onion Bhajiya which is Spring Onions dipped in batter and deep fried. This came with Tamarind Chutney and Mint Chutney. This was just OK. We tried one of their Goat Specialties - Goat Curry with basmati rice and again it too it was OK. We also ordered 2 different kinds of bread - Naan and Aloo Paratha, the latter being bread stuffed with spiced mint. The spice level we requested on all our choices was followed perfectly. My family loves to frequent Indian Garden's lunch buffet. Available every Tuesday through Sunday, there is consistently a wonderful selection of dishes and the food is absolutely delicious! Located in a plaza near Giant and McCaffrey's in Yardley, Indian Garden has a convenient location with ample parking out front. Most recently, we came for lunch on the last Friday of the year (2022). They had very festive decorations set up for the holidays, and it was particularly busy around 1pm. The restaurant has a comfortable ambiance and food is refilled quite quickly. We really like to come to their lunch buffet because there is always a consistent set of dishes available, as well as a few that are switched up each week--this is nice because we have a few favorites we know to expect, but also get to try new ones! Some dishes that they tend to always have are the chicken tikka masala, paneer tikka masala, and tandoori chicken, in addition to rice, naan, and samosas. Besides the tikka masala, several of my other favorites that they sometimes have are the aloo gobhi matar (cauliflower, peas, and potatoes with ginger and spices), sabji palak (spiced spinach and mixed veggies), vegetable korma, and fish pakora. They also always provide several desserts. Kheer (rice pudding with nuts) and mango pudding and/or mousse are usually available, and they often also have gulab jamun (pastry balls in syrup). I tried gajjar halwa (carrot, dried fruits, and nuts pudding) for the first time at their buffet several months back and have quite liked it since, as it is not too sweet and has a rich flavor. In the summer they also had watermelon which was refreshing given the heat outside. To sum up, we have found that for $17, the lunch buffet at Indian Garden is especially worth it. They also have a menu to order from though; we have enjoyed dinner there and takeout before too, and they give fair portions. Husband and I went here for a date night dinner and had a wonderful experience. Although the exterior is unassuming and blends into the surrounding strip center, appearances can be deceiving. The interior was larger than expected, clean and pleasant. The first thing that grabbed my attention was the large table devoted to their brisk takeout business - a good sign. We were seated immediately. After giving us a few minutes with the menu, our order was promptly taken. I was impressed by the variety of selections. We chose onion bhaji, Hari yali chicken, vegetable korma, and garlic Naan. We were asked what spice level we desired. The food came out quickly. The Hari yali chicken was sizzling and steaming. We came here during the week and decided to try the lunch buffet. So glad we did. Besides can't go too wrong with a buffet. The restaurant is located in a decent sized shopping center so there was plenty of parking in front of the place. The restaurant is alot bigger on the inside than it looked from outside. Plenty of space for everyone to sit without feeling like you are on top of each other. It was already pretty busy at little after 12 noon, which told me right away that it's a popular spot amount the locals in the area. There was a nice variety of veggie dishes( which my partner who is from India) appreciated, meat dishes, rice dishes, naan, and appetizers( veggie pakora and samosas). I believe you can also order off the menu as well as I saw plenty of patrons ordering their various faves that were not at the buffet. They also had several popular desserts ( kheer and gulab) available as well. The food was delicious and tasty. The food was replenished pretty quickly at the buffet. The owner ( or a person I am assuming is the owner)made sure everyone was taken cared of. He went around and checked one every table. Our server was nice and refreshed our water as often as he could and cleared our table any time we went back up for something from the buffet. Good buffet. On a Friday afternoon, it was really bustling in here. Speaking to some of my fellow diners for lunch, this is really quite common it seems and I was warned not to visit on the weekend as it can get worse. The buffet line while just a bit long, moved quickly enough and there were definitely enough options for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike. Appetizers and entrees with various chutneys, naan, basmati rice, fryums, veggie samosa, veggie pakora, malai kofta, paneer tikka masala, fried gobi, chili chicken, chicken tikka masala, tandorri chicken, and goat curry were just some of the options available this afternoon. There were many other options which I didn't get to sample. All the entrees were pretty good, tandoori chicken, the tikka masala's, goat, and chili chicken entrees were especially tasty with the meat very tender. To finish there were several familiar options for dessert including rice pudding and Golub Jamon. While all the options were quite good, the spice level of the food was probably not what I would say close to Indian spice. In fact I'd say there was no heat to speak of in any of the options available. That's not to say it isn't great as a buffet has to be everything to everyone and in order to do so, the spice level may need to be muted a little. My table was bused quickly and water glasses were filled frequently. On this particular visit, there was no credit card option, which is slightly irritating since I was paying for my table of 4. Below average food, the spices over powered any other flavors and it was so hot that we couldn't even eat. First experience here and likely last. Only highlight was the lacha paranthas and paneer tikka, both were authentic and well spiced. We had take-away dinner while visiting family -- first time since before COVID-19 -- and it was fabulous. The SAMOSAS (5/5) are awesome -- thin crispy crust stuffed with vegetarian filling -- as are the ONION BHAJIYA (4/5) -- deep fried batter-dipped sweet onions with great flavor. My second favorite Indian Restaurant in the state of Pennsylvania. The owner Pren is very humble, gentle, and cares about your experience. I love seeing an owner on the floor clearing plates, and offering smiles. The staff overall is decent, and the food is very good. They recently raised the prices before COVID, but it is still a great meal. Indian buffets are not really known for the quantity of selections, but more for the quality of what they offer, and Indian Garden offers very delicious food. Came in, was seated, my children were playing with sugar packets while we were waiting to order. They were being quiet, a man comes up to our table with an angry look and belittled my son for playing with the packets. He leaned over the entire table, over my husband, grabbed my son's plate and begins telling all the people at the restaurant about my son and his playing with the packets. Making it a big deal, here is the thing my kids always put them back. They weren't being loud, weren't being disruptive. My husband was ordering as I'm watching this man tell everyone about my son and I won't stand for that. I told my husband we were leaving and off we went. I refuse to stay at a place that will treat my children like that, let alone pay them for it. No thanks. Will never go back. Will never recommend to anyone.
