3 years in, time for a review update and a star upgrade. I've dined in once since then, and ordered take-out several times. The flavour and organization has improved overall, although my one experience during lunch hour as the sole patron ordering from the menu left me forgotten in a corner for a good 20 minutes (the comped chole bhatura was excellent tho). Every time I've ordered to go, the food has been on time and exactly as ordered. The fish pakora has improved tremendously and the many menu items we've tried have been delicious and good quality and quantity for the price. All those fools paying $20+ for chana masala at Guru need to come here! The samosas are particularly good, and at $1.50/2 meat and $2/2 veg are cheaper than the grocery store. I've taken them to several gatherings where neophytes and natives alike have raved about them. Great Indian food at a fair price without the drive to 34 Ave - and lunch buffet for $14. Ordered two lamb Curry's rice and naan breads. Rice was 9.5 out of 10 (hard to mess rice up). Naan breads were burnt but still edible so I'll say a 4.5 out of 10 The curry was bad, no that makes it sound better than it was. The curry was awful, upon opening the plastic container me and my wife were both shocked to see bones in the curry, big bones small bones and very fatty meat. We decided to give it a go and try some meat. First bite was a shock as I found a bone small enough that if a child was served this it would have caused serious issues, it was a small very sharp bone and that was my first and last taste of this curry, flavour was ok but not worth risking injury over. I will never ever order food from here again. read more

I really enjoy Indian food but don't eat it enough to know what I'm eating. So, to avoid a big commitment in any one direction, I opted for the buffet, which seemed very popular with the local patrons, many of whom knew exactly what they were eating (read between the lines). The food is excellent! I did recognize the basmati rice, chickpeas, and the tandoori chicken, however the stations were labeled. All excellent and complemented by the best naan bread I've ever had. Plus, the desserts are out of this world, honey sweet confectionary and some sort of super rich orangey custard. Service is very pleasant and prompt, venue is nice, especially given the place is located in a commercial business park. Worth a visit. read more

The lunch buffet was really good. Excellent value for money. There was sufficient choices on display for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The fish pakoda was outstanding, the butter chicken didn't let down and the beef in the vindaloo was in beautiful perfect cubes. The naan was soft and delicious. The decor was nice, it didn't start getting filled up and it seems to be a favorite lunch place in the neighborhood. The only let down was the dessert. They had cut fruits as well as some Indian fare. The Rasmalai and Kheer were good, not amazing. However I would stay away from the gulab jamun which was too dense and the jalebi which was too hard and crispy throughout. Anyway I'll go back for the food for sure and hope to try some more dishes on their menu on a different day. read more

Really good and authentic indian food. We ordered for delivery the butter chicken is a must. Coconut rice interesting? not the typical asian style - but i don't know what indian coconut rice is i guess. Cauliflower and potato dish awesome as well as the tandoori chicken. I adore this place! The buffet items change from day to day which is good if you work in the area and cannot get enough of this place. The buffet has an optional to go. Fill your container up as much as you want and have the most envious smelling lunch in the office! If you are eating in. You get a basket of fresh naan on your table. Ours was refreshed once during our meal. I am not sure how often they do that, but it was all that we needed. The food was fresh and flavourful. Nothing was too spicy to eat, if you're concerned. Of course there were a good selection of non-meat options too. Great dessert options too. read more

I like coming here for lunch because it's quiet and there's not a lot of people. It's all you can eat for a very decent price which was one of the reason why I chose this restaurant. The restaurant was clean and organized. The steam tables were well managed. The food was well stocked and fresh looking. The had the usually favorites; Channa Masala, Butter Chicken, Goat Curry, Paneer , Chickpea Curry and Tandoori Chicken. I use to be a big eater, but I don't eat too much these days. I had only one dish, but I had a chance to try most of the main dishes. It wasn't a "wow" experience but it was definately good food for $12. Service was good. They refilled our water and brought us fresh naan bread when we were out. We enjoyed the naan bread the most because it was so soft and fresh. Other restaurants usually have there naan sitting there for a long time and it doesn't taste as good. I also felt like they took the spicy down a noch so I felt that there food lost it's character. My favourite Indian restaurant. There is always a buffet on and we always go for the buffet. They always serve warm fresh naan bread to the table which is also included. Price is reasonable and the food is excellent. The staff is always great with us too. Anytime we crave Indian food this is where we go. My mouth is watering now as I do this review. :) read more

A- List. Highly Recommended. This is an unusual place. The location is unusual and so is the food. If you were going to start a restaurant business, setting up shop in an industrial area might not be the first idea that comes to mind. However, this is exactly where the masterminds of this incredible restaurant/business finally settled. Then they went about creating beautiful food. Soon enough the word got out. Today, India Garden has made a 5 star name for themselves with high-quality food at sensible prices. Additionally, I hear they do catering and other projects from their location. If you are looking for awesome Indian cuisine at reasonable prices from friendly folk, this is a place you will want to come back ad infinitum. This is the best of Edmonton. Enjoy. read more

This is a great place to eat if you are staying at the hotel down the street. The food is delicious and nice and spicy, and the service was very good as well. I find it very sad that more people don't go here! This buffet is so delicious, their chana masala and paneer are my favourites :) Small buffet but almost every dish is a hit so the extras are unnecessary in my mind. The price is more than reasonable and if you love sweet Indian desserts there are lots to pick from. read more

A local favorite. Good food for a very fair price (though it could be spicier). They tend to take into account wimpy Caucasian palates and bellies during their lunch buffets. I never been for dinner but respect it has to be difficult to put togher an Indian lunch buffet that pleases everybody. We generally GOURGE on fresh Naan bread, Paneer, Goat Curry, Butter Chicken and mann other wonderful meat and vegatable based dishes. We had higher hopes for this East Indian Buffett. The offerings are delicious but the buffet selections could have been hotter (simply warm on the plate) and bit more diverse. That being said this out of the way place is an attractive & clean restaurant, with friendly and attentive wait staff. The price is right. If we are in the neighbourhood, it will come to mind as a consistent and straight forward place for an Indian buffett. read more
