Was very disappointed. The food was bland with no flavor, with the chicken tikka masala sauce literally tasting like Campbell's soup from the can. Giving 2 stars for pleasant service and clean restaurant. read more

Reasonably priced, Friendly staff, clean dining area, nicely decorated. I am a big fan of Indian food and was quite pleased to have a restaurant come to Plainfield. Each dish has it's own distinctive flavor. Check it out! read more

India Bistro-Goan - Chicken tikka masala - Indian Near Me - Plainfield, Indiana

I work in what could generously be described as a food desert, or less dramatically a quality restaurant desert. India Bistro would be the oasis of that desert. I walked in not knowing what to expect and could not have been more happily surprised. You are immediately greeted by an exuberant staff, and that positivity stayed for the whole meal, which makes the entire experience even better. Everything is served as a cafeteria style buffet, compartmentalized trays and all! This actually works out really well in separating the multiple curries and stews. I can say that I honestly do not make multiple trips in a situation like this, however after my first trip of tandoori chicken, goat curry, paneer, spicy kebab, and rice, I somehow found room for tikka masala, saag, and their perfectly made naan. A restaurant like India Bistro is one of those little joys in life that make you think everything is going to be ok, or at least your lunch will be. read more

I tried the butter chicken and veggie curry. The veggie curry was SPOT ON and the butter chicken is one of the best I've ever had! The Samosas are big and filling too! The staff is family-friendly and the place was super clean. The only problem with this place is that you haven't tried it yet!!! Go! read more

Absolutely delicious and wonderful service! We will be back! The chicken Tika masala was the best we have ever had.

Great food and really friendly staff. The decor is pretty cool, too. Oh, and very reasonable prices.

We were surprised to find this Indian restaurant in Plainfield and even more surprised to find it's updated decor and menu items, especially when compared to the frankly formulaic approach found in most Indy Indian restaurants. We had a chaat item for an appetizer and I had a creamy goat curry with mushrooms and my wife had a vegetarian cauliflower dish. The heat was as requested and the food tasted great. I really appreciated how the food and decor was a change from what is widely available in the metro Indy area. read more

We've been ordering takeout from here during the last few months, and the food is fantastic. Still hot and fresh after a ~20 minute drive home to eat without any re-heating. The food is also amazing!! Our favorites are the chicken makhani with garlic and paneer naan! Their mango lassi is a perfect refreshing desert to cool off if you order a spicy curry. read more

We have been ordering out from India Bistro every week or so through the pandemic. The food is always perfect. It's wonderful to have a high quality Indian restaurant in Hendricks County. And the owner is so very friendly and accommodating. She has taken the time to introduce us to new dishes that we had never tried multiple times. read more

New Owners This place has a variety of Indian food to choose from. Buffet style you go to the counter to order. Food is always fresh and delicious. Family ran business and they treat you like family. You never feel guilty going back to the counter for more. A must stop if you are in the Plainfield area looking for a place to eat. Bring your appetite! read more

Indian Bistro was able to accommodate meals for our party of newly 35 people. We ordered three types of vegetarian plates, rice, naan, and dessert. There were tons of leftovers (breakfast) and the dinner was amazingly good! We even had multiple first-timer Indian cuisine eaters and they all loved it. This is a great restaurant with delicious meals. read more

If you would like to "try" Indian food this is the place to go for the lunch buffet. Good price and unique tasting items. I don't even know what I ate but it was all very good and the naan bread was great to sop up the sauces: red, green, brown. read more

A small but cute, very trendy looking Indian restaurant. We were surprised to find such a large variety of food on the menu. We had the lamb saag, chicken saag and chicken vindaloo along with papadams, naan and a variety of condiments. We enjoyed everything! We did have a question on our preference of one of the dishes and the staff over compesated to make things they way we are used to. All the staff we encountered was very nice, attentive and accommodating. Highly recommended! read more

Love! Love! Love! India Bistro. The food is oh so delicious! If you like Indian food, they you will enjoy India Bistro. I've never had Indian food and I'm a new vegetarian so I was nervous to say the least but the experience was a good one. I was greeted upon entering the restaurant which is immaculate and the decor is very trendy and modern. The aroma of spices hit you as soon you hit the door and they tingle all of your senses. I was clueless and had no idea of where to start, I explored the menu and the very nice workers provided recommendations. I ordered the vegetable samosas and the vegetable korma with garlic naan. Once I got home I devoured everything and it was absolutely AMAZING!!!! I loved EVERYTHING! The right amount of heat in the vegetable korma, the garlic naan was soft and flavorful, and the samosas were perfectly fried and the filling was perfectly spiced. I give Indian Bistro two thumbs up and I will be back to try more vegetarian dishes. read more

Whenever I go out of town for work, I try to find local places instead of big chains to eat at. The staff here (family-run) was friendly and welcoming, and very willing to explain anything on the menu. I decided to keep it vegetarian tonight, and had the Samosa Chaat and Pakora Manchurian. The ginger chai tea was perfect with the kheer for desert. I would definitely come again when I'm back in town. read more

India Bistro-Goan - Indian Near Me - Plainfield, Indiana

Worst Indian buffet ever experienced. Not even sure if the food even truly represented the fine cuisine of India. Only dined here after reading the reviews and seeing the ratings. First, never before have I been to a restaurant where the buffet is being served to me (like a soup kitchen). That being said the staff was pleasant and accommodating. Second, the curries were watered down and tasteless (or sweet in some cases). The goat curry had meat pieces that were chewy and rubbery. Third, the rice and food in general was served cold. Fourth, the kheer was over-powered by the presence of poor quality rice (not basmati) and the gulab jamun was cold. Definitely, the first and last time I will dine at this restaurant. read more

The food was FANTASTIC! I had a dish made with goat. It was fall off the bone good! And the amount served was as fantastic as the quality. It was all served hot and fast by a quick and responsive staff. Even took extra servings of naan with cheese (fresh made) home to enjoy later. The cost of the meal was a bargain in my opinion and I will DEFINITELY be back! A five star experience for sure. read more

This is the best Indian food I have ever experienced and the Hurry Curry is a really reasonable price. I typically don't know a lot about Indian food and this place explains what it is and how delicious it is and promotes it for me. The staff remembers me and makes it a point to ask how I have been, ever though I have only been a couple times. The Hurry curry counter always varies and is fresh and am read more

Great appetizer and Tandoori Chicken. Warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We'll be back.

Went here for the first time today. I don't claim to be an expert on Indian food. I've had it a couple of times in the past. But, I really enjoyed this meal. We went for the lunch at about 1pm. They had a great selection included with their "Hurry Curry" buffet table. There were 4 meat options and enough ovegetarian options for my wife to go meat-free. All of the selections were flavorful. They also had rice, spring rolls, two dessert options, and brought fresh, hot naan bread to the table. In addition to the great food, I was very pleased with the friendly, hospitable service. The two people working were very helpful and accommodating for new customers and treated all patrons well. I'm sure there is "better" Indian food available at higher end restaurants. However, for the quality of food at an AYCE price of $8 and the service we received, this place is an easy 5-star for me. read more

This place looked really nice on the inside and has friendly staff. I was disappointed by the food though. It was lacking flavor and almost tasted watered down. read more

Best Indian food. Owners are so friendly and polite. One of my favorite places in Plainfield. A must try.

Ate there for the first time today. We will definetly go back. The restaraunt was mainly empty, but the atmosphere is nice. It is semi self service (we ordered at the counter and they brought us our food when it was ready). The service was good. The staff was friendly. The tandoori chicken was made fresh and was a very generous portion. My wife's curry was also very good. They serve Indian beer, but we did not try any this trip. read more

Passing through the area so can't compare it to anything comparable. My wife and I had the buffet lunch. It was good. The naan was hot and tasty. The entrees were mostly good, although what was said to be spicy wasn't notably spicy. The chicken tikka masala (which is generally what I would order at such a place) was a little light on the curry (needed more) and my wife thought it tasted a little more like tomato soup than curry. I don't know if I would go that far, but it really lacked the curry flavor that I was anticipating. Nothing wrong with this restaurant and the service was good, the food tasty, but could use some more spice and curry flavor to get it beyond the nearly bland level of flavor. This is central Indiana, and I realize that the Midwestern palate leans toward bland over spicy. That was my experience growing up in the Hoosier state (obviously, that does not represent everyone and is a generalization with which you may not agree). If you want Indian food and you don't have any other options in the area, you'll probably find it acceptable, and perhaps if you order off the menu and let them know your tastes, you'll find something memorably good here. read more

Hurry Curry is brilliant! Reasonable prices, excellent variety, and cheerful vibe. Tableside naan is the perfect bow on top of this tasty lunch package. read more

Multiple things wrong on order. Ordered potato vindaloo and got "vindaloo sauce"?! Then ordered aloo paratha and got aloo palah. Food that was put together like it was cooked in a hurry. Edit: I attempted to drive to the location to correct my order but there was a sign up saying they were closed and on a family vacation so I posted this review. I received a private message from the owner stating that I should take my issue up with Door Dash and that they didn't have potato vindaloo on my order (so they said I ordered only vindaloo sauce) and that they didn't have aloo paratha on the menu. I replied with screen shots of my Door Dash order and the menu they have listed and told him to shove it for being a lair. Terrible customer service. read more

This place was pretty much what we expected, except for the added bonus of goat curry!! So often these little buffets have chicken, chicken, and more chicken! But to have some very tasty, tender goat was a real surprise. The buttered naan was piping hot and delicious. Portions were very ample. We didn't try the desserts as we were full already, but they looked great. A couple negatives: The music was some monotonous techno-pop, which is maybe where they get the "Indian food with an attitude." slogan, but I'd much rather hear some tabla/sitar or even Bollywood music than this. Seemed out of place in my mind. Sauces tasted pretty much the same, whether it was chicken korma, butter chicken, paneer, or goat. Tasty, but could've had a bit more heat and variety. The Tandoori chicken was very nice. Very friendly atmosphere--we'd go again. Very convenient location close to the airport. read more

Super friendly service, which is my favorite part of this place. The food is also good, but I wouldn't recommend the buffet. It's expensive at $10, which would be a great price, but they don't seem to be fans of you going up for seconds. So what's the point of ordering the buffet if seconds aren't encouraged? The seating is also very weak. Almost cafeteria style and very close together. Better suited to take-out, which, again defeats the buffet purpose. read more

Today was my first visit and my first experience with Indian food. I was pleasantly surprised! The all you can eat experience was great because it gave me the opportunity to sample everything and it was very tasty. The staff was very helpful in explaining what each dish was as well. I didn't want to leave anything on my tray but I was so full that I had no choice. I can't wait to go again. Really really good!!! read more

It's a very small restaurant but it was very full and we were greeted promptly. The food is amazing. I really enjoyed the chicken bryanni. My husband had the tandoori chicken and it looked really good. He is not an Indian food lover like I am. However he really enjoyed it. I have a ginger chai tea and it was an experience. It was not very sweet and it was a little spicy, I did like it but I couldn't drink very much of it. The food was very clean and that is what I appreciated the most. What I mean by clean Is the spices really make the food. A lot of times with Indian food the cream and sauces overpower the dish. This by far is the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to and I will definitely be back. read more

I come here occasionally due to the plaza location, especially because it's more of a takeout than a restaurant. They also have items hard to find in other restaurants, like aloo tikki chats...etc, wish they had noodles with their manchurian. Food is made for the fast paced, my patura bread was pre cut and not fluffy the way it should be, most of the food is plain like most young people like it but still very tasty, and at one point unpredictable, it looked different every time but I think they got it now. read more

This is the only Indian restaurant in the Avon/Plainfield area that I'm aware of at the moment, and the food is about average. I always get chicken tikka masala and garlic naan, so this is what I use to compare restaurants. The chicken tikka is good, but the sauce is not the most flavorful I've ever had. The naan is sometimes dry or overcooked, but good when fresh. The service is great and the online ordering system works well, I've never had any issues with it. I would recommend giving this place a try if you haven't yet, and I plan to keep coming back unless another one opens up on the west side. read more

The staff at India Bistro are always so welcoming and friendly. My family and I enjoy coming for the buffet during lunch, which always has a wonderful selection, but we also come here often for dinner (love the chana masala and paneer tikka masala). We are vegan and vegetarian and they always accommodate that when we come in, and we are always so appreciative of their amazing service. We always have a good experience when we come here, and it's one of our favorites in town! read more
