    Pantry beetles. Also called weevils.

India Bazaar Supermarket - Bugs in Lentils I bought 3-4 different kind of lentils from India Bazaar, Spring Creek on Friday 3/13. Yesterday l was cleaning one of the lentils bag and found a live pantry beetles (also called weevils or ghuns) in the bag. We took it back to India Bazaar and showed the beetles to the cashier and told her we wanted to return all the lentils. She told us that there is no returns or any refunds. We asked to see the store manager who was also not interested of our concerns and she walked backed to her office without helping us. As they were not helpful we left all the lentils at their shop. My only hope is that they don't restock. We have informed the health department. Please be careful when you buy from India Bazaar. We will never shop at this place again.

I've been shopping at IB for a few years now. I read the reviews and agree with both the negative and positive feedback. I purchase the large bags of basmati rice here, the price for a 10 lb bag is the same as purchasing a small bag/jar at other grocery stores. The produce is priced well however it's not always the freshest. I love the frozen samosa's and naan, always a good price and the quality is good. The staff is hit or miss. Most of the time it's a miss, the young women at the registers are not always friendly, there is definitely room for improvement. Whenever I have questions on items I'll ask fellow customers instead of staff.

India Bazaar is where I go to get the freshest vegetables every week. Their prices are always the lowest compared to other stores and they do a great job restocking. I also like to get my special spices from here and few other Indian goods like sweets, yogurt, paratha/naan (flatbread) etc. I've noticed that mostly all their products are priced lower than other competitors like Indo Pak Grocery, Patel Brothers or Taj Grocers (now Subzi Mandi). By signing up for their rewards, you can also earn credits for future purchases. I believe there are seven India Bazaar locations in the DFW. So if you're looking for the best quality vegetables and lowest prices, you need to checkout India Bazaar. With so many locations, there's most likely one conveniently located close to you. This one on Spring Creek has the widest variety of vegetables which is why I like going here. Customer service is a bit below average but I am not bothered by it since I always make it a quick trip.

I tagged along on grocery day with my parents. When they go grocery shopping, my dad has this tendency to hit like 2 or 3 stores in one day -_- Anyway we've been loyal customers of IB for a while. They have a membership card which offers discounting after spending certain amounts. They have a wide selection of veggies, frozen goods, pantry items, grains, dry goods, and of course spices. (They don't have a butcher area, btw.) This store used to be really gross and dirty and had a random vegetarian café in the middle of it. Thankfully, they've recently cleaned up and organized the place and moved the café to what is now Rajula's Kitchen across the lot. A year or two ago, I would've given this place 3 stars, but added one back now that it's a lot more clean and organized! There's a really wide selection of Asian veggies as well as more commonly known stuff like okra, squash, spinach, etc. They are priced really well. Onions are regularly only $0.39/lb. The dry goods and spices are excellently priced - I buy my black tea bags from here (orange pekoe tea, 216 bags ONLY $5.99, yeah take that Tazo, Teavana, etc!) Definitely drop by for a visit!

*** Price Gouging *** This used to be a small store at the corner of Spring Creek and Alma. They have now expanded their store to double their size and they have another store in Irving as well. The main reason for giving 1 star is due to their pricing on items they sell. Many of the items have a price printed by the manufacturer, but they put a sticker on top of it and show a different price all together. You can see this very blatantly on some of the Frozen items. Once an item becomes popular among patrons, these guys immediately raise the price.

All of you might think that this is the best place where you can go and find Indian food, I am not saying it is not. But read this review and decide for yourself. I bought a bottle of coconut water on 29th march 2015, after drinking it I realized that the product was expired a long time ago (September 2014). I understand the fact that i should have checked it before, but it came as a shock to me that this store is selling so old and expired products and playing with people's health. This is utter nonsense. I would advise everyone of you to check all packed food before buying it from this store.

A smorgasbord of yummy Indian goodness.

After growing up in Plano for years and years on end, I was pleasantly surprised to find this supermarket. You know it's a great destination for your Indian needs when the local Indian community shops here. Upon entering, I was greeted by the aromatic smell of different curries and spices. Too bad I already had lunch! Anyways, you should check this place out because I know I will after today.

This Mitsuwa location is located within a strip plaza with a good amount of parking. There are two entrances, with one closer to the food court area. The marketplace is smaller than the Mitsuwa location I used to frequent in Edgewater, New Jersey, and possibly closer in size to the Waikiki location, but that was to be expected. Their food court area was also small and had a handful of restaurants. The restrooms are located all the to the right side of the establishment, past the food court. While there are many Japanese goods available at this marketplace, the goods are not inexpensive. I appreciate they have my favorite drinks like CC Lemon and matcha, Japanese beauty products, and even some harder to come by Hawaiian Suns. There is a section to pick up pre-made sushi and cold food items as well as a pre-made and heat lamp covered area for hot food items, but both looked kind of dry. Not my favorite Mitsuwa location but would suffice and happy to have it around when I do need something in particular.

I was craving for healthy Middle Eastern goodies and Blue Fig came up on Yelp. We ventured to this store located in a sparse shopping center in the middle of beautiful homes. What we found... Ample parking Clean interior and for its small space it certainly carries many essential items: Home made flat bread - a must! It's baked on the old stone round ovens. I found rose water used for cooking in savory dishes and even in the sweets I bake. A tip for you ladies, the rose water in Middle Eastern markets are well priced and I use it as a toner for my face. I found some frozen Indian Roti in the frozen section amongst many other international goodies. Also, my favorite Turkish cheese or Lebanese cheese Labneh was priced well. Also got a can of garbanzo beans to make home made hummus. Definitely a must to go here if you are in the area. All the prices were reasonable. Why 4 star and not 5. There was only one cashier open and she was talking to another worker as the lines started to get longer. As for service you will have to look for it and ask questions. Overall a good first time experience and got all the necessary items we needed. I almost forgot, they have a small fresh fruits and vegetables section. Enjoy!

A hidden gem in Z-Tao Market -- authentic Northern Chinese comfort food made with heart…read more My mom and I stumbled across this cozy dining hall tucked inside Z-Tao Market, and I can't stop thinking about the experience. It's run by an incredibly sweet elderly couple--especially the grandpa, who is unmistakably from northeastern China. His cooking? Absolutely phenomenal. You can tell it comes from years of experience and deep-rooted tradition. We tried the handmade buns and scallion mandarin rolls 花卷, and both were unreal. Fluffy, flavorful, and so authentic--exactly the kind of food that brings back childhood memories or feels like home, even if you didn't grow up in China. They also offer Mahua (fried dough twists) and a wide variety of other traditional northern Chinese dishes, all displayed beautifully and made with care. What makes this place even more special is the warmth of the owners. They were so kind, and you could tell how much pride they take in their craft. It's rare to find food made this way anymore--these are the old-school flavors that are slowly disappearing. Prices are very affordable, and the quality is unmatched. If you're in the Plano or North Dallas area, I genuinely urge you to visit, support this small business, and taste the kind of cooking that truly deserves to be preserved. In a time when it's tough for small immigrant-run businesses, especially with rising global tensions, showing up and supporting them means everything. And trust me--it's more than worth it. Whether you're a diehard fan of northern Chinese 东北饭 food or just a lover of real, soulful cooking--this spot is a must-visit.
