We've been coming to Omid for years and highly recommend him. Whether for an oil change, new brakes or you name it, Omid will not recommend any services that are not necessary. Isn't that what we always worry about? "Does it really need that?" will not be a question you ask yourself here because if you don't need it, he won't propose it. read more

Omid, will give you great reliable and honest service! Brought my car in with a problem, he fixed it no charge! Next time he found 3 things I needed that I was unaware of and explained what happened if I did it now or later, really appreciate someone who looks beyond the problem of today and then never tries to add to the bill unless necessary. He will go above and beyond to not only fix things correctly but also to let you know if it is not ready to be fixed yet. I trust him by taking all my auto needs to him but also referring friends and family to him without question, the real deal! read more

Finding a trust worthy mechanic is hard to find. I have zero car knowledge. I took it to get an oil change at jiffy lube; they tried to upsell me hard. Said my belts needed to be replaced now and water pump was almost done. My estimate was $1700 (mind you I was going in for just a $25 oil change) so I decided to get another opinion locally and found Independent Auto. Omid is the owner and sole employee. So, what a honest amazing mechanic. I told him what they told me and he laughed. My belts were completely fine and my water pump had at least another 80,000 miles. He didn't charge me ANYTHING! He could have just pretended they were right and got me for $1000...80% of mechanics in that spot would have screwed me. He said I owed him nothing but I was so grateful I gave him $60. He was so thankful. This was 4 years ago and have been recommending friends and family sever since. He's saved my butt countless times. Best shop in the Bay Area hands down. 10/10 Omid you're the best!! read more

If your looking for an honest, quality repair shop, look no further. Omid, is the real deal, he's honest, goes above and beyond and often has done things without adding more to my bills. We have one newer Lexus and an older Nissan, he knows them both really well, I'm always leaving feeling like a customer and good about my decision. I'll be a long term customer read more

Went here a few weeks ago to get my car serviced and to get the breaks done. Everything was amazing. Very quick turnaround, quality work, and the prices were fair. The guy definitely new what he was doing; much more knowledgeable than most other mechanics I've been to, and didn't try to upsell me on services I didn't need. Nice to have a new solid shop in the area. read more

Omid, is so helpful. My car was having this weird issue of all my lights on my car flashing/pulsing. I mean running lights, head/tail lights, stereo light, just everything that lit up would strope. It wouldn't do it everytime or right away. It was the weirdest thing ever. It came to the point of me no longer being able drive the car without people thinking i'm flashing them. I brought the car to Omid and said figure it out. Drive it around, whatever you need to do. He call me and had a few options of what it could be and Also let me know of a few other things he noticed that need attention but nothing that was needed right away. Just coming up or soon, which is nice that he looks at everything. Anyways he fixed my issue of the lights and also got an oil change and was on my way. Omid works independently, runs his shop professionally and clean. He always calls before the repair to let you know the cost and how you wudl like to proceed. Very reliable and up front. He isn't here to BS you, which i like. read more

Can't say enough positive things about Independant Auto. Nice to find an honest mechanic you can trust.

I've been to Independent Auto Service several times now and every time I've gone to get my car worked on for average maintenance Omid, the shop owner, has always been friendly, honest and very knowledgeable. He takes the time out of his day to explain and show me what is going on with my car, which I really appreciate! There really is something to be said about an honest independently owned business. I always have a fair price and am always pleased with the work done. I recommend this place to family, friends and anyone that is looking for a great and dependable mechanic! read more

I have been taking my cars (I've had a lot of them over the years) to different shops in the area. I had one shop I was very comfortable with for a long while till one day my car broke down out of town, I brought it to a local shop in Nevada and they said that the fuel pump went out and replaced. Once I got home I went through my receipts and saw that the shop I was taking my car to had supposedly changed the pump 2 months prior, but once I called the shop and Nevada they said that here was no possible way the other shop had replaced the pump. Instead of babbling for hours I'll get straight to the point, I was shocked that my supposed trusted mechanic was screwing me over, surprise surprise. Now about independent auto service I was doing the drive down auto mechanic row and saw independent auto service and it was very clean and looked like a nice setup. I pulled my car in and started chatting with Omid the owner. I told him of my troubles and he said let's go ahead and put my car up on the lift right then and here and take a look. He spent about 1 hr going over my car, as I'm sitting there thinking great here comes the pitch about how my car needs a complete open heart surgery, Surpise he explained that everything was in good shape and told me of parts that seemed to be a little worn out but not necessary needing replacement immediately. I will stop my babbling and tell you, Omid it's extremely honest and a true pleasure to work with, I'm so thankful I found him and highly recommend you to his shop. Thank god there are still honest hard working mechanics out there. read more

What's the hardest thing to find when it comes to auto repair? In my opinion, it's an honest mechanic. Had 2 great experiences with Independent Auto, that I feel are Yelp worthy. First was a check engine light that came on. Came back as a transmission issue so I left it in the hands of Omid to diagnose and fix the problem. Calls me and hour later and says it's just a sensor. Less than 200$ to fix. What a relief! I was ready to shell out hundreds to get my work truck back up and running! About a year later I thought I need new back brakes due to squeaking sound... left the truck there in the morning, and he called me shortly after saying, " they're just dirty, I'll clean em for you." Charged me a half hour of labor, and I had him change the oil since it was already in his shop. This dude is legit. He's honest and super reasonable when it comes to hourly rate. I really trust this guy... which is rarely heard about mechanics these days Thank Omid read more

Excellent service and most importantly great reasonable prices , fixed my breaks in a timely manner. Very happy with overall service.

If you are looking for a mechanic you can trust, is honest, and has fair pricing this is the place. We have been taking all our cars to Omid for everything from basic maintenance to full blown break downs for years. He is always quick because he is a workhorse. The shop is a block past Costco if you are coming up Monument from the 680. Great guy. read more

Omid is the best! I don't take my car to Toyota any longer cause Omid is the guy to trust. Super fair pricing, it seems I always get over charged by other shops and I just feel very comfortable going there. Try him out, you will not be sorry read more

Omid is hands down the most knowledgeable, trustworthy car mechanic in the Bay Area. He's a reliable guy who you can count on, whether you need a regular tune up or you're in a bind. One time my car wouldn't start, even after I bought/installed a new battery. I had a tow truck bring it to Independent Auto Service and Omid fixed it the same day! He's helped me out countless times since then and I couldn't be more appreciative. Highly recommend bringing in your car to his shop, you won't regret it. read more

Another excellent visit to to Omid. He is very knowledgeable and friendly and will go above and beyond to help me with my 96 Honda Civic. He is always willing to take extra time to explain to me why things need to be done and I have found his prices have been more than fair. He has gotten me out of a bind with my car twice now and I really trust him. He will be my mechanic for life. Thank you Omid for all your care and great work, I appreciate it very much!!! read more

I was referred here by a friend and I know why. Omid is a great guy! He was able to diagnose the problem and gave me an honest estimate -- no over selling or up selling! I'm taking my car to him from now on! read more

Great place to get your car fix and done right. I was changing my oil and could not get a cap off to access the oil filter. So I drove up monument til I spotted this shop. I asked the guy can he at least break the seal so I can finish the job. 1st he said yea but I'll have to charge you. Well I didn't want to do that so I thanked him and began to walk out when he stop me and agreed to help. He broke the seal with ease and when I got home I was able to finish the job. A week later, on a different car, I needed repair that was out of my league and sure enough, I took it to this shop. Quoted me a great price and had my truck done the next day! I will be bringing my tuck back here for other repairs & I strongly recommend this shop to any & everyone who needs their vehicle fixed & done right. read more

We had a very untimely breakdown on a boat trailer and needed it repaired within 24 hours. Omid took ownership of the project and not only repaired the trailer brakes but was able to upgrade them as well. Omid's expertise, hard work and perseverance allowed us to go on vacation.
