Lynch Park views are breathtaking…read more You are standing at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. It encompasses 16 acres of land. Now during the Revolutionary War this area was used for guarding. It had cannons to protect Beverly Harbor. During the 19th Century wealthy elites built summer retreats here along the coastline. Even President Taft used one of these estates for his summer trips. When David Lynch died he left his 400,000 as bequest to the city of Salem. They transformed it into a park in the 1940s. In 1966 vandals destroyed the rose garden and burned down the monastery. This made the city restore the original grounds to its original glory. Today the city has restored the rose garden and made the park with two beaches even more impressive for visitors to enjoy the views of the Atlantic Coast line .

It's got 2 tennis courts and 2 basketball courts if your into that sort of thing. You can swim here but the sand isn't very nice. It's more of a good quiet place to sip an iced coffee and read a good book. The sunset is always nice over the water and you can watch the sailboats go through the bridge which is always nice.

The zipline was a big hit, as was the climbing wall cube thingie. Lots of room to spread out, well maintained play structures that appeal to many ages, and good coffee close by. What's not to like?

One of the highlights of our day!…read more We enjoyed a picnic lunch (thank you Trader Joe's;)) along the southern edge of Castle Rock after crossing our fingers, wishing, praying, and knocking on wood that there would be public access permitted. 2-hour max street parking is available nearby, there are a couple of benches and a small stairway in a stone wall, and views are quintessentially Massachusetts' Costal shoreline. Be sure to make a quick visit if in the area - very much worth the time!

I honestly wanted to leave this place 5 stars so bad but the only thing was stopping be was the hike down to the beach area. There's no pathway and you have to climb over slippery rocks and be very careful even when wearing the right shoes. If you are physically able to go down there though, it's definitely worth it.

Two dog parks, a huge playground where we had a picnic, horses, a very large cow and many smaller animals in the children's barn. Plenty of space to run around and very nice, clean restrooms. We went on a Tuesday, so there were no parking or admission fees. We will definitely go back in the warmer weather. What a Gem!

I was here for a few hours on a June Wednesday and really enjoyed it here. There aren't many waves, making Dane Street Brach a great spot for families with young children. Please note, however, that there isn't a lifeguard at this beach. It is pretty rocky here, so definitely recommend water shoes.

The water is only 2-3 feet deep for a good quarter of a mile from the shore, especially at low tide it is a challenge just getting into the water because of all the damn rocks! Otherwise, it's nice being able to go for a swim and yet be a 5 minute walk from downtown Beverly. It seems to be a challenge to find a good place to swim, in Lynn the red algea ruins the beach (but I have heard it is well under control this year) and for something close and quick Dane Street will do.

I came here to enjoy dinner at the little seafood joint located in the park. I couldn't have asked for a better setting for my last meal on my vacation. The breeze from the harbor. The sun beaming through the fluffy clouds. I was almost too good to be true to be in such a perfect setting. But I was here, living in that moment. I couldn't have asked for a better park to eat my meal at. Everything I took in will forever be etched in my brain. A memory and feeling I will never forget.
