I love coming here and it kind of creeps up on you when you're in the middle of a neighbourhood, and the next thing you know you're driving by this tiny beach and then it's gone and you're in Marblehead. We arrived in the evening, so parking was free, however they do charge during the day. Even with the sun setting, the water was surprisingly comfortable and we were able to swim without freezing too badly. There's also a convenient bathhouse on site, and a restaurant just as you enter the parking lot. Definitely planning to come back on a hot summer day and soak in the sun.

Picnicking is allowed but no open flames. You will see events happening here all season from movie nights to small concerts, to school events etc. This is a great place for those with fair skin to enjoy the ocean as there are many trees to give full protection from the sun. Pack a lunch and head on down to Red Rock Park and enjoy all the ocean has to offer. FYI there are no bathrooms available and food is approximately a mile down the street. This is a solid 4 Star Ocean Park.

We passed through…read morethe town of Marblehead and this was where my first taste of how life in New England happened. The town is a beautiful seaside town. Loved the atmosphere here. We stopped at a small hidden park in Marblehead called Castle Rock Park. Perfect place to relax, and watch and listen to the ocean. Cool little factoid for all you history buffs, according to our tour guide, Marblehead is one of the towns which claim to be the birthplace of the US Navy. That's cool. Wish I had more time to explore this place, but what I did see I loved.

Not only do they have a great selection of kayaks and tours but the owner, Clay, is a genuinely awesome guy. During one of my multi-day rentals, Clay travelled all the way to my Airbnb to help troubleshoot a problem with my Kayak. I use the shop mostly to rent kayaks for fishing and its always a great time (see attached photo). I will keep coming back!

Four of us arrived, filled out a simple waiver, and got our life vests and paddles. After not so gracefully plopping into the kayaks, we were on our way. Once we got the hang of it, we were on our way to the closest island. We were hoping to get to Spectacle, (insert snicker here) but I think we would have passed out first, so we made it to land (I think it was Thompson, which may or may not have had No Tresspassing signs on it. Eh, We weren't exploring, just resting up with a nice picnic lunch. I can't wait to go back, after my aching arm muscles stop killing me!~ Next time I might wrapy my thumbs with tape to see if it will prevent the blisters I got.... Randy took my wife, daughter (6 y.o.) and me out in mid October a couple years back, and we had a…read moretruly wonderful time. Randy kept our daughter engaged the whole time, and she loved it. We rounded up mackerel and used them to catch inshore striped bass all morning. Then we went to some deeper spots not too far off and caught and released cod. We took home a couple of the bass, and reset some lobster traps so my daughter could see how it all worked. Amazing experience, highly recommend, we can't wait to do it again.
