Wonderful walk along a wide promenade almost a mile from Mission on the Bay in Swampscott to Red Rock Park in Lynn. Many joyful family groups walk along here and watch the ocean with its dramatic tide changes. read more

It's a great place to go on Thursday's to watch The GREAT DIANA PLOSS tell the truth about Governor Baker. Governor Baker who has brought us the worst employment rate in the country and the 3rd highest death rate. But you won't near that on TV or see it in the pages of the Globe. The media in Boston is a disgrace just like our Governor. It takes heroes lime Diana Ploss to call out Governor Baker( or Faker as she calls him) . This state broke election law by not keeping the ballots as the law demands. The secretary of state destroyed them. I wonder why. It's actually really nice going when the sun's setting because you see the Boston skyline and you can sit around in peace and quiet. The town center is right there too so it's nice to walk around and get froyo or ice cream while enjoying the view. But when it's high tide there's no where to go except on the sidewalk and look down. I came here to check out the waves for skim boarding but then I overheard a few paddle boarders saying that their feet feel gross because the water has so much algae and other gunk there (you can see it from above for sure). Hearing that and seeing that the waves are pretty small compared to many other places around MA, I won't be going in the water here. read more

Nice, clea, enormous beach on the north shore. There is only one changing room and bathroom for the whole beach. People have to park far away and walk a long distance to get to the changing room read more

Quiet beach ,, liked that its not to busy and can hear a conversation ,,,bring a cooler that stocked ,, good book,,, clean sands not a large beach but first time their and pleasant view for relaxing, Looking forward to going again !!! Nice place to go if you want a quitter beach than Revere and if you'd like to stay in that area. You're bound to find free parking (although there's a 2 hour limit until 6pm so the time can go by too quickly). Just beware of the stench since there's a drain nearby, but otherwise, slightly better view of the water than if you're at Revere. In a very pretty residential area as well. read more

First day that was nice enough to explore my new hometown, and figured I'd check out the beach. It is been a long time since I have seen the ocean, and now I realize how much I missed it. What a beautiful park area, people jogging, walking dogs, riding bikes, surfing, everybody just enjoying nature. I will definitely be back to check this out again and make this my place to go to for exercising outside, and just getting in touch with mother Earth. It was a good day indeed! read more

Decent beach on the Swampscott/Lynn line opening up to the Atlantic Ocean with a gorgeous view of the Boston skyline to the south. When the tide is out, there's a lot of space to walk, relax, & hang out. Good shell hunting if you time it right. Like the other reviewers said, when the tide comes in, forget about it. The surf comes right up to the walls. I like coming over here & walking the shoreline up to Red Rock Park on a nice day. You can usually find close- and free- parking. The downside of this beach is the epic amount of trash- I've honestly never seen so much crap in the water and along the shoreline. It's a shame, because it could be a gorgeous spot if people would clean up after themselves. That and the occasional funky smell keep this from being a 5 star location here on the north shore. read more

A walk across the street. Can't beat it. This is my go to beach. The tide is everything, when it's high, the beach is gone. But everywhere in-between is great. Great walks. Great views, including the Boston skyline! read more

A nice sandy beach in Swampscott where you can relax on the beach in good weather or enjoy the surf crashing during storms.

Living down the street from this beach is such a great thing. Most people associate Lynn with bad stuff but if they lived near the beach area they wouldn't. They would see surfers and sand and sunsets and mansions. They walkway above the beach is great day or night and relatively safe. I have not heard much ever happening but that doesn't mean it doesn't it is the same as any other place at night. The recent findings of that girl from Swampscott washing up there probably would deter folks but that I feel was an extremely isolated incident by folks that were part of an unsavory culture and had something very terrible and unfortunate come of it. The ocean is a vast place. Anything can wash up from it or be hidden beneath it. Needless to say, I feel safe there and run with my baby and my dog. Great place to surf and paddleboard too! read more

I gave it 1 star because this is the WORST smelling beach I have ever smelt! The view is absolutely stunning, you can see boston on clear days. It's very quiet and never crowded but oh my god it smells like rotted food. Im pretty sure the resturants dump their waste in the ocean and it doesnt help that right on the beach is a drainage line with sewage running in it.. I would not recommend swimming there. The shoreline is covered in this substance that looks like oil and seaweed mixed together. It's everywhere! I really can't emphasize enough on the smell.. The winter is not bad at all but right when the temperatures get warmer be prepared to dry heave driving or walking past it! Swampscott is a pretty wealthy area.. Not sure how more efforts are made to try to clean it up! read more

My favorite beach. Its family oriented, its peaceful and relatively quiet. Theres tons of parking. Its the perfect beach for people who live in the city and dont want to drive to the cape. read more

I grew up going to this beach. It's decent, just don't expect too much of it. There's no lifeguard or bathrooms; it's just a beach. The stinky algae smell is usually confined to the Lynn side. It's generally not too packed, and there's loads of good beach food at all the little places along Humphrey. Expect long lines at Lime Rickey's if it's a good beach day. It's pretty much all locals at this beach, probably since there's no parking lot. You just have to find a space on the street, or know someone who lives nearby and park at their house. But that does mean it's a completely free beach, which is a plus in my book. I wouldn't specifically drive here unless you're already in the area, but hey, give it a shot if the Nahant Beach parking lot is full (as it usually is now). There are some better beaches in Swampscott (Eiseman's, Phillips, and Preston), but I think this is the only public one. read more

this beach is super chill and nice. but beware, the tide comes in! we got there at about 11am, and by 1pm all the sand was under water and people were perched on the sea wall, which isn't bad if you have a chair. but we found free parking very close by on the street, and the water was amazing. i'm not sure if there's a cove there or what, but it was fairly flat, and by far the warmest water i have ever felt this far north. read more
