This is my first time in Litchfield Park! I found this brunch place on Yelp (well yes of course!),…read moreand no wonder it got such good ratings! The place was full when my friend and I got there. We waited for about 10 minutes for our table on a Saturday morning and it was absolutely worth the wait. First of the, the coffee was soo good!! I ordered a Lady Litchfield omelette no cheese and my friend got the nacho fries. Both are delicious and not filling at all. Looking at the dish with all the colors made me so happy and I could taste the freshness of the ingredients! The flow of service was spot on. We got refills of coffee without even asking - attention-to-detail point increased!! Last point, there's only one gender neutral bathroom. Sooo don't be like me to wait till you really have to go to wait in line...if you know what I mean *wink*.

Being a resident I drop in here about every five years and while consistent in their offerings, it also consistently "meh". We brought our pup and the service from Miguel was attentive and helpful even bringing a bowl of water for our pup. The location and ambiance is quiet and intimate (I suggest sitting outside when it's nice) and is much bugger than it looks. Coffee taste like Folgers and while each plate has a lot of ingredients, it doesn't have a lot of taste. We ordered the Lady Litchfield Omelette and breakfast burrito and while generous in portion the irony of the dishes was interesting. The omelette was chock full of veggies and minimal egg to wrap them, the burrito had a ton of egg and tortilla but minimal ingredients to taste. At the End of the Day I just don't feel like the experience warranted the $16+ price tag per meal. I'll come back in five more years and see if anything has changed.

OK, I don't know what's going on here at this location. It's hit or miss whether it's good or bad…read more Lately it's not so good. Today I got seated quickly, even though there were two other couples in front of me. And my drink order was taken very quickly. However, it was very slow from them until after I paid. When my drink came, I almost sent it back. And thinking about it I should have sent it back. Both the water and the iced coffee were in the filthiest plastic glasses. I was literally able to take my thumb and rub the grime off the inside of the glasses. It turns my stomach, thinking the fact that I actually drank my coffee. Let's hope I don't get sick. I pointed this out to the server towards the end and he said yeah, we kind of have a problem. I would say so somebody needs to either polish or scrub or soak in vinegar to get the hard water stains off or something to those glasses and they need to do it regularly because that was just plain disgusting. See pictures. (note the red lines on the picture indicate where I was able to wipe off some of the filth on the plastic glass so that you could see a cleaner area versus the rest of the glass) It felt like it was 20-30 minutes to get my food order taken. And as I told the gentleman when I wanted, he wasn't really listening. He then asked me. Do you want pork or chicken? I had already told him how do you want your eggs cooked? I had already told him. Maybe this is why he's so slow and taking orders because he doesn't listen so takes twice the time to write his order out. The food came fairly fast once it got . I ordered.Tres huervo Rancheros and a side of pancakes. The pancakes were small 3 inch pancakes. How they can charge that much for such small pancakes. SMH. The chips for the rancheros should be thicker because you can't really put anything on them without them breaking apart. I actually asked for a spoon to eat my food because it was getting messy. Luckily, the server saw the problem I was having and brought me a few extra napkins. I think this should be a given that if you're going to provide a dish where this food is literally sliding off the side of the plate, you should bring a stack of napkins. The rancheros was good, but had only 1-1/2 tablespoon tablespoons of meat. It was tasty, but there needed to be more meat. There was actually more sour cream than pork.. After receiving my bill, I got up and went to the front where another patron was waiting to pay. However, there was nobody at the front desk and looking around the restaurant. There was no servers on the restaurant floor at all. One came out for about three seconds and then another one came out for about six seconds and then they both went back to the back. I actually had to walk around to the entrance of the kitchen and tell the people that we need somebody that can check us out. I had a doctors appointment to get to and I shouldn't have to wait for somebody to come up to the register. Also, when did they stop carrying cash? It was ridiculous. I didn't see any signs when I came in and said we don't take cash. They actually had to call a server to come over to give me change from his tips. But he didn't have any coins. So basically, I was unable to get all my money back that I should have. And because he didn't have enough ones I ended up having to get a bigger tip then I would have liked. Maybe this is done so that they can get bigger tips?! I didn't see anything saying digital payments only. It's just kind of ridiculous. I know that there are restaurants out there especially one fast food lovster roll place in particular that doesn't take cash. Everything is digital. I don't go to that restaurant because of that. It's not that I don't use debit cards. It's just that sometimes I have cash that I don't want to have to go put in the bank. So yeah, I don't know what's going on at this village Inn, but the filth on the glasses alone is enough to make me want to never visit again. Even though the rancheros were very tasty.

Seriously…read more We ordered like people who hadn't eaten in days: biscuits and gravy (as a "side"... sure), seasonal fruit (grapes, pineapple, strawberries), and the chimichurri steak & eggs with hash as our main. Oh--and a kale tonic drink to feel responsible, plus iced coffee because balance. Everything? Absolutely delicious. Not one weak link. We ended up sharing everything and still had more than enough food for two people--which is rare unless you accidentally order for a family of four like we did. The real problem now is we've seen the rest of the menu... and we want all of it. So yeah, we're definitely coming back with a better strategy (and probably more stomach capacity). Staff was super attentive, our waiter was phenomenal, and the whole modern farmhouse vibe is actually really well done--clean, bright, and "Instagram-but-not-trying-too-hard." Also, underrated detail: the bathrooms. Four individual private units instead of the usual awkward stall situation. Huge win. Final verdict: great food, great service, great vibe. Come hungry... and maybe bring a game plan.

What truly sets Cracker Barrel apart, though, goes far beyond the great food and charming country store. Today, I witnessed something genuinely special. Caydence, one of the amazing and friendly cashiers here, took the time to walk an older gentleman to his car, helped him in, and stayed to make sure he was safely on his way before returning to her duties. It wasn't just the act itself--it was the care behind it. She walked at his pace, engaged him in conversation, and showed a level of patience, respect, and kindness that you don't see every day. Moments like that leave a lasting impression. No matter how long the wait might be, I'll continue bringing my grandson here. The food is consistently delicious, but it's the genuine compassion and human connection that make this place unforgettable. Caydence--thank you for being such a beautiful example of kindness. I can only hope my grandbabies grow up with that same level of heart.

The restaurant itself was clean, including the restrooms, which is always appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet expectations. My burger came out with lettuce that was wilted and greasy from the hamburger meat, which took away from the overall taste. My husband ordered the hamburger steak, and while it was cooked, the portion felt small and it lacked flavor. On a positive note, the green side salad was fresh and enjoyable, and the iced tea was just right. Overall, great service and a clean environment, but the food quality needs some improvement to match the experience.
