The clues and room themes don't necessarily go hand-in-hand, and it feels like random puzzles were used for each themed room. I went with a group of 6 and since we were kinda noobs we decided to try out the easiest room, which is the Billard Room. The room was so small (about 3m x 5m), and with the giant pool table in the middle it was difficult to move around. From where I see the other rooms are just as small, if not smaller, so I think 4 people should be the maximum capacity for this place. I do love the photo wall with the signs however, great for photo ops with friends and posting on Facebook lol.

If you're worried about the horror effect, don't worry because I was too, but it was not bad! This room calls for a maximum of 8 people but we were able to complete it with 2. The staff were friendly and kind, and the ambience of the place is lovely. Looking forward to trying out the other rooms!

Roundabout Canada is located right in downtown core, just a minute walk away from Yonge and Dundas…read more Given their location, and the fact that they have 5 games available, I came in expecting smaller scale rooms (compared to the ones out in Markham or North York). And the room we were in was definitely not large. However, unless moving around was a key element in the story, I wouldn't base my ratings solely on size. We did the Prisoner. Given the allotted space they had to work with, I would say they made good use of it. There's enough space to walk around, and it really set the atmosphere of the story. Each clue was only used for one puzzle, and there were enough hints to be able to logically connect them to the appropriate locks. There was a clear sense of progression as you solved each puzzle, allowing you to move towards the next step of the story. Several clues were related to the story itself, and that's always good design. The only drawback to me is the amount of space they have to work with, given that they decided to run 5 different games concurrently, since you're paying the same price as pretty much everywhere else

Upon walking in, we were greeted by Will, whom helped us with every aspect of the party planning. He was very helpful and easygoing; such a joy to deal with! On the day of the party, we were able to come in earlier and decorate, while the children played the game. During the game, we had difficulty in solving the puzzles therefore, Will and Fahed came in to assist us without hesitation. They were very helpful with all of the guests in the game room, and took the time to explain everything very well. Overall, this venue was an excellent choice! Will and Fahed went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, while giving us the time to complete the game accurately, and have fun! The game was difficult yet engaging; and the price was excellent as well. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants a fun-filled event with excellent service!

There were 3 staff that helped us out and I very much appreciated that they were able to accommodate one friend that was running late. I liked that I would make a payment for 8 of us at the time of booking, and if other friends wanted to join, they could and they would just need to pay for their admission at the time of arrival. Usually I'd complain about the difficulty if we didn't make it through but it was definitely properly scored at 9/10. Still really fun. Staff were so kind and helpful, would come back here to try another room. Thanks Captive Mississauga team you guys were awesome!! :)

The only thing I thought was a bit hindering was the lack of timer in the room, so had no idea how long we wasted on a puzzle. Having done literally 90% of their rooms, I would return to do the last couple of rooms!

It'll be one of my most memorable experiences just based on how amazing the set looked. The puzzles were complex, engaging, and fit into the story so well. You can tell the people running the place are super passionate about creating the best escape room experience. We did have a slight hiccup where the room didn't reset halfway through. We waltzed through a door and everything was already unlocked and lit up. Staff were on top of it though and immediately came in and fixed it. Everything proceeded smoothly afterwards. I've done other rooms before in both locations, a long time ago though. I remember them all being extremely detailed and fun but this one might be one of my favourites yet.

The entrance of Omventure is somewhat hidden where it faces the back of a big building housing several different businesses (mainly restaurants). A great place for kids, teens, families, as well as young adults, the space houses a variety of escape rooms with different difficulty levels, where there is a suggested number of people needed per room. Depending on the difficulty of the escape room, you are given either 60 min, 90 min, or 120 min to solve or escape the room. You are able to book your escape room ahead of time, which is highly recommended. They do have family and kid friendly escape rooms available as well. Also, the use of phones is not allowed when you play the escape rooms - if you do decide to bring your phone into the escape room and use it, you can cause your time in the escape room to end early (they have security footage throughout the rooms). This location also has an expansive board game area with many large tables and many games as well as a cafe selling bubble tea and snacks. There is also a gaming area with video game consoles as well. My party of 4 stopped by Omventure on a Saturday evening where we had booked the escape room "Kingdom of Cats" (60 min, 3/5 difficulty, best for 3-8 people). Upon entering, you pay at the counter where you can get discounts if you follow them on social media or if it is your birthday. Once ready, your belongings are placed in a single locker and you are asked to watch a video explaining the rules of the escape room. Staff also provide you with a walkie talkie where you can ask for unlimited hints if you are really stuck. Afterwards, staff lead you to your particular escape room. My party and I managed finish the "Kingdom of Cats" escape room in the allotted time, although we had to ask staff twice as we were stuck with what to do next. This particular escape room required us to solve puzzles and riddles while paying attention to our surroundings. There was a bit of crawling as we headed to at least 4 different rooms. It may seem confusing where to begin at first when you are placed in the room but with teamwork and communication, you end up figuring out what to do to move to the next step. This particular escape room isn't scary, but it is kid friendly and fun. The 60 min really flew by just like that as we had to use our brains in order to figure things out. I haven't done a lot of escape rooms but this one was really nicely designed with lots of details throughout. Moving through the different rooms was pretty cool and finding the clues and working as a team together allowed us to escape and finish. After we were finished with the escape room, staff came to get us and took our picture on the stage where we could choose different boards to hold up. Nice touch as a souvenir of the fun time you had while you were there. For an additional fee you can also play as many board games if you'd like, but we decided not to. Overall, a fun escape room adventure for everyone! Would love to try the more difficult and scary ones next time. Staff were great and the facilities were well maintained where the rooms very detailed. Great option to have a fun time with family or friends.

We did the Death Row room, had a few bites to eat, and played some darts. The escape room was on the tougher side but was still very enjoyable, especially considering our group had people that were mostly unfamiliar with escape rooms. I had the turkey bacon club for myself and it came with a lot of chips on the side, and the club itself was pretty good. At 12:35 am, we started calling random escape rooms to figure out if they could get us in. Perplexity said they had rooms available if we were to show up right then. So our decision to try out Perplexity Escape Games was somewhat impromptu. And it turned out to be one of the most fun nights I've had in recent memory (that didn't require medications/ointments the next day). I've done escape rooms before, but Perplexity set the bar high and I'm pretty sure other escape rooms won't seem nearly as fun now: - Firstly, Perplexity's escape scenarios aren't limited to one room. With our choice, there were two rooms that we had to work our way through. And there were a lot of clues. - Secondly, some of the rooms incorporate jump scares. So not only do you have to get out of a room in a set amount of time, you have to deal with the anxiety of trying not to wet yourself at random moments. - Thirdly, there are some great props that help add to the creepy (or outright scary) ambiance. All of these aspects result in a much more immersive experience than other escape rooms I've seen (at least where I'm from, I can't speak for other escape rooms in the GTA). The guys who got us ready for the room were very helpful, and even accommodating to someone in our party who struggles a little with being trapped in smaller spaces. I appreciated that they were considerate of our concerns. The guy who took care of the paperwork upfront offered us a discount (around 10-20% or so, I don't remember) for checking in on Facebook and tagging everyone who was there. And it looks like Yelp check-ins get you similar discounts as well. All told, I spent $33.99 USD for two people, which according to Google comes to approximately $44 CAD. I've paid more for crappier escape rooms. Perplexity was worth every dollar spent. I look forward to the next time I'm in town so that we can try another room.
