    Chef's choice.

The best sushi! Better than Nobu and many other Los Angeles famous places. And the service was incredible.

Udon minus the tempura shrimp, they were gobbled up to quickly.

I stopped in for dinner tonight after months of coworkers talking about their amazing meals…read morehere...It did not disappoint. I am so glad I went, and yet, so disappointed that I've lived/worked in the area for a year and tonight was only my first visit. From the exterior, it looks like your run-of-the-mill strip mall sushi joint. And, to be honest, the interior decor did nothing to break that stereotype - however, we go to restaurants to eat the food, right? Not obsess over fake bamboo plants and mini cherry blossoms :) Unlike the insipid strip mall sushi I have been eating in other towns, this food was outstanding. My order: Shrimp shumai - I am addicted to this dish in general. I have to order it everywhere. I know I shouldn't as they're small and don't pack the punch the $7-$10 menu price commands - but still, like a moth to a flame, I'm incapable of saying no. These were better than most places - but still small and inhaled so quickly, my waitress didn't have to return for my plate - she just took it. I then got the blackened tuna sashimi salad - FANTASTIC. I wish I got 2. Fresh, flavorful. Really what I was looking for (I did ask for a side of wasabi). Rounding out appetizers was the tuna sushi pizza my colleagues rave about. It was really good. Like a deconstructed tuna/avocado roll. Delicious. But I felt silly eating something with my hands at a sushi joint. I'll likely pass on that next time and save the room for an additional roll. Entree was a Spicy Girl tuna roll and a Blackened Tuna roll. Both were excellent. I wish I could still be enjoying them. If you have not yet been - go! If you have not, don't live with the regret I do by putting it off. You'll enjoy it. Ps- they have a seemingly well appointed full bar with all you'll need or want. I do not drink, all I can tell you about their beverage program is the lemon in my Diet Coke was fresh! Enjoy

How can this be made bad? I simply ordered sushi deluxe. They took each sushi piece and sliced it…read morein half! It appeared as if you had a lot of pieces but it was just the opposite -- it was (I believe) 6-pieces surgically cut in-half vertically into super slim pieces. I've never had sushi cut or made into such thin pieces -- I've never even seen it this thin! The fish was fresh and the soup was good, but c'mon... the dish was prepared for a child. The interior of the restaurant looked like it did when they opened probably 20 years ago. Simply, outdated and old! The walls are covered in faded old Polaroids of customers long since deceased! Fortunately I learned of the other Japanese place just down the street offering a very bright, deco interior with a very diverse menu with ample portioned dishes.

Chicken katsu was alright as is, coleslaw on the side or curry sauce would definitely add to it. Definitely need to Try: Paradise cake & Tiger roll next time. Service was great! And ambiance was cozy!

It's located in a plaza and it's a small, cozy spot; there were about 7 tables. I don't think they accept reservations. We went on Saturday for dinner, there were a group of about 15 to 20 and then my family. I was glad we were able to get a table for 4! The service was great! Food came out fast too. My kids had the chicken katsu with fries which they enjoyed. My husband had the sashimi platter and Philly roll, which he said was fresh and tasty. I ordered 3 sushi rolls: Dragon Roll- it had crispy tempura shrimp, avocado wrapped in sushi rice and nori seaweed; it was topped with eel sauce and sesame seeds. Shrimp Tempura Roll- which had Tempura Shrimp, Avocado, Cucumber, Tobiko, and Homemade Eel Sauce Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll- fresh minced tuna, seaweed, rice, and I believe popped rice to make it crunchy Honestly, all delicious. I couldn't find a negative. The sushi were fresh and innovative. The menu had so many delicious options that I wanted to try all of it in one sitting, if I was a rich sumo wrestler lol. Yes, it's worth the hype and I'll be back soon!
