Food was good. But there were some issues. We got 2 Hibachi Combos. One chicken and one shrimp. It was a generous display of side items like fried rice, vegetables, seaweed salad, soup and tempura shrimp. The shrimp hibachi was $20. The chicken hibachi was $16.99 however, the proteins were not generous in comparison to everything else. The shrimp was also hard and terribly overcooked and the chicken was very dry and only about nine or 10 very thin little strips. The protein should have been the star of the dishes. I absolutely love this place. It's such a unexpected surprise. Low key but neat little place with a cool interior. Sushi was good. I do not like Americanized lo mein...their pork lo mein was delicious. Salad and kani salad was a nice portion. Fantastic lunch specials. I've gone here with a number of friends and we all are always very pleased with our meals and the way they are prepared & presented. Love that they play great music there. Really sad with the change in ownership (although I'm sure the new owners are lovely); the old service and food was much better than what we received this past weekend. We wanted to like it, we really did. But dinner just got worse and worse. After the Thai Coconut Chicken soup -- delicious broth, packed with veggies and slim-sliced chicken -- it was all downhill. Take the sushi: not awful, but the salmon was just moderately fresh; the yellowtail scallion roll lacked scallions. The Masaman Curry Chicken was unfortunately just a mess: absent spice, a congealed curry in the bottom of the plate and slippery pieces of chicken accompanying lots of broccoli. The Crispy Salmon Skin Avocado Salad didn't have crispy salmon; what little there was on top was mushy. The summer roll was cut into four pieces, the ingredients falling out, making each a little more difficult to corral in a hand. The Fried Rice was edible to be sure but was overcooked. So we won't be returning. But maybe, just maybe, we caught the kitchen on a very bad night. We hope so. We don't wish them bad and see other Yelprs have had good experiences. Note: this restaurant has a lousy, cheap looking exterior in a tired strip mall, once you get inside it's clean and really quite pleasant with a nice bar area. Ordered an onion soup off the menu which seemed appetizing until I received it. There looked to be a worm crawling around, however i realized this only after i had started chewing. I showed one of the workers there the mutilated worm i had chewed up and she simply brushed it off. She grabbed it and threw it out, gave me a 20 dollar bill and escorted me out. I looked at her in disgust as i left the restaurant. I ran back in, livestreaming on insta when the 80 year old malaysian owner started calling me a "dog eater" which seems like the pot calling the kettle black. Unfazed, I threw the bowl of soup onto her face which gave her severe third degree burns. I am writing this review under house arrest while I await further action against me for my crimes. read more

This place is terrible. I honestly do not understand how anyone is giving it more than 2 stars and that would be generous. Been twice in about 6 months. The first time was a Sunday and we got there a few minutes after noon - thought they opened at 11, but actually opened at 12 on Sundays. We were told eventually by a server that they weren't quite ready because they just opened. Which on one had I understand as my husband and I met working in restaurants, but not to this extent. We received waters 15 min after asking... only patrons in dining room. Long story short- took way too long to order, receive food, get bill after asking and after paying. Fast forward, Saturday dinner at 6:30. Pretty busy for small amount of seating when we arrived , but quickly cleared out. Again, 10 minutes to greet, another 10 to order, didn't receive half the drinks we ordered, brought out a complimentary seaweed salad for the long wait... we ordered an app JUST COMP IT! We are constantly having to ask for the lates, napkins, silverware after food arrives. Wouldn't clear plates so we had to put them on other tables because we didn't have any room. Dinner eventually comes but only 2/3 of it. Then someone's miso soup and salad arrive... ?!? Sushi comes on weird plates with stupid light up trees that get in the way of actually eating or drinking. Had to remind them food was missing. Server thought 30 cookies and mints made up for the terrible service. I will never return. This is pathetic customer service. This was never acceptable in my ~10 yrs of serving and bartending. read more

Would love to come back here again! Found a Groupon for a good deal so we tried it out and we're not disappointed. Our sushi was very fresh and there was a lot of option for special rolls. The service was excellent. We never had to wait or flag our server down plus he was very friendly. This is really the first Asian restaurant I've ever eaten at, so take this with a grain of salt... (I know, how have I never? Very easily, but I'm trying to expand my horizons so :-p ) The windows do not fit the decor. From the outside, 707 Asian looks like another standard, run of the mill Chinese restaurant with specials, specials, specials. But once you walk inside, it is absolutely beautiful and a really peaceful place to eat. The wooden floors compliment the rest of the furniture, there's a hint of blue in the lighting, and the music is set at a low level. Very nice, albeit a little cold by the window. The service was really attentive without being overbearing, and the food itself was delicious! Portion sizes really good, appetizers (we tried the scallion pancake and tempura shrimp and vegetables) can definitely be shared. The presentation of my Lobster Tempura rolls was very artistic (not sure if it was intentional, but it looked like a bunny), and for my first time eating sushi, I found it to be delicious. I would totally try it again! We finished the the tempura cheesecake, which was decked out with chocolate and raspberry sauce. Very good, but just a word of warning - it is frozen before they fry it, and the interior is still cold in portions. I LOVE this place. I stumbled upon it one night, and was totally blown away. It's very clean and bright inside, and unlike anything else I've seen in Torrington. The quality is on par with an Avon or Simsbury restaurant, and I hope they do amazingly well. The first time I was there, I ate in and ordered appetizers for dinner. I got the Crab Rangoon and Roti Canai. The rangoons were crispy and delicious, but the roti was even better- the accompanying curry was really flavorful. They plated everything beautifully and even dressed it up with edible orchids. Today, I got the mango chicken lunch box takeout. We LOVE sushi so we were really looking forward to trying out a new place. Went here for a dinner date for the first time and we were surprised that it wasn't busy at all. Sat down and got water immediately. We were excited to try the all you can eat since we saw the sign in the window. We had asked for the "all you can eat" menus and decided to give it a shot. We had a Groupon which said "food or drink, any night for 2 or more" we read the small print very specifically on the Groupon to make sure we weren't missing anything. I ordered a drink with our first round and didn't get it. My boyfriend got his beer that he ordered after that. I had to ask again for my drink. We started with some sushi. I was shocked when I saw how much rice there was. My guess is that they load you up on extra rice under the fish so that you get full faster with the all you can eat. Soy sauce seemed watered down. Wasabi didn't taste like anything. Unseasoned sushi rice. Improperly constructed, Sloppy sushi and rolls overall. I then chose a roll with "crab". Turned out to be just shredded imitation crab stick which I hate. Too much rice again. I hated all of it. With the way their rules are with all you can eat, I was afraid if I didn't eat it they would charge me extra for it. Choked it down. Lastly we had a noodle dish that I typically love at other places. It was awful. Greasy, ends of noodles instead of the entire noodle. It's like they give you the bottom of the barrel food with the all you can eat. We finished our drinks and they never asked if we wanted another. Never refilled our water. When we went to pay and use the Groupon they told us that we couldn't use it with the all you can eat and that it was in small print on the menu. I don't know if one supersedes the other but I will never go back here. The food was a joke, the service was subpar and the Groupon didn't even work. I got a refund from Groupon later. A waste of 70 bucks on dinner. Would've been much better spent at the delicious sushi places in Avon or Canton or Thai place in torrington by the old stop and shop. Never, ever going here again. Husband has been going through medical crap and we had 3 hours in between dr's appointments to kill and we both love sushi. I checked out recommendations online... The first place we went to is closed on Wednesday's so we went to the 2nd on the Yelp list, Asian Fusion. What a treat we had! We splurged on a party boat for 2 which also gave us the option for a free roll, we got tempura shrimp which I figured would be a small roll, nope it was a full size special roll! The party boat tray was huge and beautifully arranged, sashimi roses, slices of lemon, pickled ginger which I believe is house made! And to top it all off since it was a very hot day they had an ice pack in the bundle, VERY considerate And smart. There was ample wasabi, soy sauce, chopsticks, napkins and a bunch of fortune cookies. It made a bit of a bummer (medical) day so much brighter. The fish was fresh, tasty and a very buttery mouth texture. Hubby does not like Mayo and they didn't put any of the squirt sauces on as requested, thank you, most places hold back on one but use the others. There was enough left for a nice lunch the next day and because of the thoughtful ice pack it made it home safely in my car cooler. We will DEFINITELY be going back again. OMG this is a hidden gem of a restaurant, I went there with a friend and was not expecting this good of food. I thought it was just like a take out but no no no it is really great sushi and tempura. I no longer have to take the drive to Ginza in Bloomfield. This is my new hot spot for when I crave some good sushi and shrimp. Excellent and the staff is very friendly as well, I had my 7 year old son who is hyper and they were kind as can be and even gave him a treat and special attention. Love this place! read more
