Have been here a bunch of times now. Had fire chicken dumplings, pork gyoza, pork belly buns, and a FANTASTIC sushi roll with lobster tempura, lobster salad, and KOBE beef on top. All of the food we tried was so good. I also had uni for the first time! Service 10/10 Food 10/10 - the plating was gorgeous Atmosphere 10/10

My husband and I are extremely picky about sushi restaurants, especially since eating raw fish is at your own risk. We have a select few that we will eat at, but we decided to try a new place since we were in Brookfield for the day. We are beyond thrilled that we did. Tomo 202 is absolutely fabulous! It is one of the cleanest restaurants we have ever been in, with a very helpful and friendly staff. There are so many menu options to choose from. The speciality rolls are incredible, the miso soup is light and delicious, and the gyoza is some of the freshest that we've ever tasted. One of the nicest things about this restaurant is that the meal was paced beautifully. We weren't rushed and the courses came out at perfect intervals. We will be back!

ORIGIN: Tomo 202 opened during the summer of 2024. The restaurant is one of several Asian-influenced restaurants associated with one of Tomo 202's owners, Naugatuck resident Jin Lin (Tomo 68 (Naugatuck, 2009) and Ramen N Bau (Oxford, 2021)). The restaurant's name refers to the road on which the restaurant is located (Route 202) and the Japanese word for friends (Tomodachi). LOCATION: Tomo 202 is located in the recently constructed commercial and residential building in Brookfield's Four Corners. CONCEPT: Tomo 202 is a one stop shop for Asian-influenced dishes, facilitating the pleasing of many guests by serving a wide range of dishes, including ramen, hibachi, and sashimi. AMBIANCE: The new restaurant is thoughtfully decorated, with blond wood upholstered chairs complementing a row of banquettes. An unusual amount of sunlight streams through floor to ceiling windows that line two walls. Interesting adornments, such as twig pendant lights, add charm to the space. FOOD: A big draw to the restaurant are the soup dumplings ($9 for six). These were good, but not at the level I have experienced in New York ( such as Joe's Shanghai). The attraction for me is that the dumplings' were far more tender compared to dumplings at other Asian restaurants in the area. During my initial visit I also tried the Asian fusion roll -- Salmon Paradise roll ($16). This roll is a mix of seared and raw salmon, surrounded by different herbs and spices. This was similar to a roll I used to order and enjoy at another Brookfield restaurant-- but this one is far more substantial in size and quality at the same price. On my second visit I asked one of the servers (Rachel) for recommendations, and she suggested the Brookfield and Shrimp Tempura special rolls. They were beautifully plated and as expected had some unique texture and flavor combinations. I also tried a cocktail -- the Lychee Martini -- and found it to be fruitier and sweeter than what I experienced in another restaurant. SERVICE: Service was attentive and swift. TIP: The restaurant is getting a lot of promotion from some of Connecticut's Instagram foodie accounts and was recently proclaimed to be the state's hottest new restaurant on Yelp Connecticut's Instagram. Jeff M. noted here that he expected to be more "wowed" after traveling quite a distance. Tomo 202 is a great addition to the Brookfield area, but is not a "destination restaurant" that warrants traveling across the state -- at least not yet! Lunch specials are available.

First time trying soup dumplings was a success. Tomo is located at the four corners in Brookfield. There is street parking on both sides, depending which direction you are coming from. There may be a lot in the back but not sure if it's just for residential parking. It is a clean new building with tables, booths, and a sushi bar you can sit at. It's a welcoming environment where you are greeted with smiles when you enter. All of the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. Our waiter instructed me on the technique of how to eat the soup dumplings. He specifically said don't try to eat in one bite, you will burn your mouth. The food is great. We got a few different things. The soup dumplings had lots of flavor. We got Pork and Blue Crab & Pork. Both were great. We also got regular Pork and Chive Dumplings which were very juicy. My absolute favorite was the Baconator Roll. I've never had bacon on a sushi roll so I was curious to try. It consisted of shrimp tempura, cream cheese, avocado, spicy kani, yum yum sauce, and of course bacon. It was amazing and I will definitely order it when I go back. Definitely stop in here. You will not be sorry.

Casual Japanese restaurant. Tasty stuff. Good fresh fish. Delicious steak. Gets crowded on a Friday night.

We were delighted to hear that Tomo 202 is owned by the same person as Ramen and Bao. My husband and I love the ramen there but NOT the drive to Oxford. That, combined with all of the other 5-star yelp reviews, it's to say we went in with high expectations. We came at about 7pm on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. Food came out quick and tasted great, all for a reasonable price at that. We ordered: -Kani salad (not enough mayo but that's my personal preference) -Takoyaki (AMAZING, drenched in sauce just how I like, GENEROUS filling) -Scallion pancakes (meh, some slices tasted bitter to me but my husband said he didn't taste it) -Soup dumplings -Honey Monster Roll -Tonkatsu Ramen Overall, our bill came out to $70 excluding tip. We'll definitely be back.

Absolutely delicious food and kinda staff in a very clean and bright setting. Look no further for delicious sushi, dumplings, and other Japanese's favorites. They have a full bar and hubs and I love coming here for date night! We love the pork and chive dumplings as well as the sushi, noodles, and the hibachi. Everything is plated beautifully and tastes so fresh. I always search for good dumplings and we found them here! We've eaten in and done take out and appreciate everything always tasting fresh!

I came here with a friend for an early dinner. We ordered some stuff and he all of a sudden didn't feel so well. I asked to get our stuff to go. I did get to eat the Spicy tuna crispy rice And the crab and pork soup dumplings there. They were very good. The sushi rolls we ordered that i ate later on were solid, good quality sushi. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Really very nice! I would definitely go back.

This is my second time dining with Tomo 202 after having a great first time. I rave about this spot with my friends in the areas. It's great to have a good sushi/ramen/hibachi food in the area finally. The sushi always tastes so fresh! The inside is so cozy and decorated nicely too, they even made some Halloween decorations for the season. Fast and friendly servers.

Best dumplings ever! Great ramen too! Nice ambiance and good service. My favorite restaurant ever

The sushi bar.

To start with, this place looks great. The decor and theme produced a really nice result. The boba teas and drinks were excellent but the sushi was even better. They have many creative rolls and tasty concoctions. One quick note, the soup dumplings were incredible. In regard to the service, the waitress helped us select the various rolls and oriented us on the norms of eating the soup dumplings. lol

We've visited the original Tomo 68 in Naugatuck for over a decade, so we had to come check out their new Tomo concept in Brookfield! If you're familiar with their other restaurant, Ramen & Bao in Oxford, the menu is a perfect hybrid between the Tomo and R&B concepts. All of the sushi is so fresh, and there's some really creative rolls on the menu! Love all of the dim sum options, and I'm a big fan of their ramen. The restaurant is located in a beautiful new development! Wishing them all of the best here!

New place and tried of course!!! Specious place nice sushi bar clean and enough parking on back. Jay the server is wonderful person who helped to go through the Menu. Sushi is average and salmon Teriyaki was okay. May be I don't know if I will be back here but I will definitely send people who loves sushi .

Chicken potstickers were probably the best part of the meal. My husband ordered the general tso's lunch special, I ordered the spicy miso ramen, and we ordered the pineapple fried rice lunch special with chicken to share. There is a place closer to home where I order pineapple fried rice and it's super yummy and served in a pineapple. This was very boring, and bland. I wished it could be ordered with pork or pork belly, which has more flavor than chicken, but that wasn't an option. It did contain a lot of chicken so would be a decent sized standalone meal, but I wasn't impressed. The spicy miso ramen said it had a rich pork broth with miso added, but truth be told, it tasted like the free miso soup you get with sushi or hibachi. I forgot to add an egg - entirely my fault. But the soup overall was underwhelming. As was the general tso's. Fine but not great. Food came out quickly and it was busy, but I was not impressed at all and wish we chose somewhere better for lunch when in the area. We had leftovers, but it wasn't any better the second time around!

While in the area for a computer repair, I figured it was a perfect day for some ramen…read more I stumbled upon Terayama and the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen caught my eye as I haven't seen this offered on a menu anywhere around here. The broth was creamy and smooth like a typical Tonkotsu Broth but the added spiciness really removes or supresses the comforting part of this dish. I mean this in the best way possible, it was delicious and now I will be adding spice to my Tokotsu Ramen that I order from a place much more local to me. The broth also was not too salty which was sometimes an issue with me ordering Tonkotsu Ramen in the past. The pork slices were nice and thin and had a nice texture to it as well. The noodles were not overcooked either. A very well done Ramen dish. I decided to order the Butabura Donburi to go. This consisted of a pork rice bowl with caramelized soy sauce, scallion, tamago and sesame seeds. The pork was cooked perfectly and this dish was full of savory flavors. The rice was also "QQ" as some asians would say. For translation just think of QQ for rice the same as Al Dente for pasta. Learning new things every day, will probably be my last time saying QQ but this rice was QQ, straight out of a Zojirushi Rice Cooker. Anyways, before I get too deep into things only Asians would understand or care about, Terayama was quite the perfect stop for me in my long drive to get my computer fixed. All their food was done right and it was just the perfect place to stop in to get welcomed by knowledgeable and comforting staff on a cold day. Quite the hole in the wall but I'm glad I found it. Until the next time Terayama. Keep it QQ.

Was skeptical as many local restaurants do the bare minimum to satisfy local palates, straying from tradition. But not here!
