I went in for a Swedish massage which is advertised for $85 and hour on her website page. When I go in for my massage today 6/4/2018, she sits me down and tells me that her massages are $100 per hour insisting that Swedish massage will do me no good because it's just a "soft touch". She also bashed all Asian massage shops claiming they are no good because it's cheap and the masseuse chatter too much. As we proceed, it's a very tiny massage room with barley any light. Modern day music is playing. It seemed like the sheets I went into were used from the previous customer right before me. I could tell because I saw no sight of any other sheets to replace the old ones. There was even a dirty blanket on the floor. As she's massaging me, she is literally applying so much pressure that it was a painful experience. She told me to "curse and breath." She was also cursing saying words like "fuck" not to mention she kept going in and out of the room. She even complained about 3 times while massaging me. It definitely seems like she cannot keep up with her clients different body shapes and sizes. She didn't even do the complete hour and all of a sudden the massage was done. The massage itself was horrible. She makes up random moves as she goes along and it does not feel good at all!! So after my baby was born, I reached out to Holiday Spa again to see if they could help with postnatal massage. Using text for translation to ensure understanding due to the language barrier, I was able to schedule with their postpartum masseur. They graciously offered a flexible start time as well as a double room to accommodate my breastfeeding baby and a caregiver, and they were very patient and understanding when I was unable to make it to the appointment, and very kindly rescheduled me, saying that as mothers themselves, they understood the challenges of newborn parenting and wanted to support me. The customer service was truly excellent. I am grateful for this business and look forward to establishing a regular schedule here.

My spouse spoke mandarin to him to do the booking. So if u call to book, PLEASE MAKE SURE you are clear over the phone WHICH DAY you are booking for. They eventually found an available female therapist and I went in a room to get started. After 20 mins, they were able to accommodate my spouse for his massage. They made it happen and I appreciate them being flexible. Here goes my detailed review: AMBIENCE: First impression - BASIC. Nothing fancy here. The rooms have walls that DO NOT connect all the way to the ceiling, so what that means is that you might get to hear ur neighbors talking during your session. The room is nothing but basic, no bells or whistle, no fancy candles or aroma smell, no dimmed lights either. Bed and a chair inside with some hooks on wall. It's not a zen place here. It's a place to get ur kinks and knots out on ur body. There was spa music that plays in there tho. Let's be real, it's no Napa Valley spa here. You get what u pay for. CLEANLINESS: It felt clean overall. Head rest on bed had a disposable sheet for you to lay ur face in. I can't guarantee they change their bed sheets after each guest but I hope they change the flat sheet that is under the blanket tho. I also assume everyone keeps their underwear on under the sheets. PRICE + MENU: Affordable. That's why I decided to come here and try it out. I did the $65 an hour full body massage. See my price list photo for more pricing info. They also offer foot massages too or combo. Pay cash is best here. They charge extra $2 for each credit card transaction so keep that in mind. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Good. I will come back and try again. My therapist, Amy, seems polite. No one rude or anything there like other Yelpers mentioned. At least I didn't encounter anything too unpleasant while I was there. My therapist spoke cantonese so it was nice to communicate and feel she understood my needs. She got all the knots I needed to get out from my shoulder. Just know that at the end of ur sessions, most asian massage places will use HOT towel to wipe u down completely after they lotion you up during ur session. Some might think it's a weird process if they are not used to asian massage places. So just keep that in mind. It's like they just gave u a towel sponge bath lol. Me and my spouse both got the full body massage, total cost was $130 ($65 each). We paid about 25% tip. In total we paid $160 cash. That total price is pretty much what I usually pay at the Equinox Spa for a 50 mins massage for one. Of course, there is absolutely no comparison. It's like comparing a Bentley with a Honda Civic. Not fairly comparable. But like I mentioned - "what u pay is what u get". I think my $65 was VERY WELL spent. My therapist took off the pain I had so it got the job done. I do recommend trying it out here if you are just looking for muscle relieve in an affordable way. Not a place I would send someone a gift card or anything. But I'll be back again when if I run into any pain issues again. If you want a hard deep tissue massage, I'd recommend Carmen. She's very experienced and knows exactly where your pain or discomfort is, and believe me, she will definitely get your pain out. Depending on your pain, depends on how much pressure Carmen will put on you. Two different times, Jenny (the owner) performed Thai massages on me. She does not offer that massage. She only performed Thai massage because I have been going there for years. Omg, that was so painful. However, when I walked out, my body was like jello. At that time, I didn't live far away. Now, the one area for improvement was the general demeanor and approach of my massage therapist who was cooly professional, but nothing more. When he got me from the lobby he asked "How are you today?" while walking away from me. I replied, and then asked him and got no reply. He then did my pre-massage check in, and then told me he would leave so I could undress but told me to keep my underwear on (This will be important later). Once I was positioned, he retuned, assured me that my add on treatment was present, and then in silince attended to my massage. Once he got to my legs, he realized that my under wear was now in his way and had me sort of turn my boxer briefs into a pair of briefs. Now I'm fine with keeping my underwear on, but once on a table laying on them, trying to relax, having to figure out how to roll and bunch them in a way that is comfortable for me was a challenge. That resolved he finished the massage, and at time said "Okay Timothy, that's time." He then asked if I would like some water and left. No inquiry into my enjoyment, nothing. And let me be clear, I get that this is a transaction, and there is nothing technically wrong with detached cold clinical professionalism, it's just a tad more warmth and genuine curiosity would have made the experience a five star over a four star.
