CAUTION: MASSEUSE IN DISGUISE I hate to be the first to pop the bubble but DAMN! I have no idea how Lyn has so many good reviews. I was not ready for this experience at all. I went in for a Swedish massage which is advertised for $85 and hour on her website page. When I go in for my massage today 6/4/2018, she sits me down and tells me that her massages are $100 per hour insisting that Swedish massage will do me no good because it's just a "soft touch". She also bashed all Asian massage shops claiming they are no good because it's cheap and the masseuse chatter too much. As we proceed, it's a very tiny massage room with barley any light. Modern day music is playing. It seemed like the sheets I went into were used from the previous customer right before me. I could tell because I saw no sight of any other sheets to replace the old ones. There was even a dirty blanket on the floor. As she's massaging me, she is literally applying so much pressure that it was a painful experience. She told me to "curse and breath." She was also cursing saying words like "fuck" not to mention she kept going in and out of the room. She even complained about 3 times while massaging me. It definitely seems like she cannot keep up with her clients different body shapes and sizes. She didn't even do the complete hour and all of a sudden the massage was done. The massage itself was horrible. She makes up random moves as she goes along and it does not feel good at all!! Be aware that you will get criticized during your massage, along with major disruption, and uneasy music. This is not the place to come from if you are looking for a peaceful relaxing massage. Lyn is one of the best massage therapists in the Bay Area. I heard about her from a local yoga teacher and then checked her out on Yelp and saw so many happy clients and great reviews. Lyn does more than give you a massage- she goes into conversation with your body and responds accordingly. I suffer from sciatica and lower back issues and she knew exactly what to do to help me out. After 90 minutes on her table, my pain was gone. For deep tissue work, she GETS IN THERE and you have to be willing to go there too if you're looking to release the big knots that build up over the years. She instructs you how to breathe through it when she's in the hard spots, and I actually felt an emotional release during the massage. Feelings can get trapped in your body... that's a fact. I didn't even tell her about that part, but she's so intuitive she knows when her clients are clearing stuff out. If you're a massage afficionado (I consider myself to be one), you know the difference between GOOD and GREAT. Lyn is GREAT. There is one pretty insanely negative review on Yelp that sounds like someone who is unfamiliar with great massage or spent the entire time on the table critiquing... I'd completely ignore that if I were you. Lyn is a salt of the earth kind of person who is skilled and empathic. If I had ten thumbs, I'd give her ten thumbs up. :-) read more

Had a massage from Lyn last week and it was wonderful. She has a fun personality but really focuses in on her work. I am a ballet dancer in my spare time (6-12 hours/week) and had some really tight and sore leg muscles, so I scheduled a 90 minute deep tissue massage. I let her know that I wanted a fair amount of pressure and she was definitely working deep into my legs and hips the way I was hoping she would. I think I needed slightly less pressure for my arms and neck and she noticed and adjusted it after I started to tense up a bit. I was surprised to find out that my back/shoulder muscles were much tighter than I knew, and that part hurt quite a bit while she was working on it. She suggested icing those muscles to help reduce inflammation which I will try before my next massage. Heads up: she is cash only. There was a Yelp check-in discount, but she said the deal is coming down within the next couple of days. Still, she is definitely worth it at full price. She also said that if I were to schedule a regular appointment every month that she'd cut the price quite a bit. I'm not sure I need a monthly massage (well, maybe I do, but I don't know that I can really commit to it!), but I'll go back a few times a year, for sure. Thanks Lyn! I finally found Lyn's contact information again and got another massage today, she does incredible deep tissue work and goes as deep as you will let her do in. It was amazing to feel the circulation come back into my shoulders and neck after a particularly stressful time at work. Hands down, the absolute best massage ever! I came in for a pre-natal massage and Lyn knew EXACTLY what spots to work on without me telling her where I'm aching/having problems. I felt so relaxed and refreshed after the massage, I got a second one I tried to get induced from getting the pressure points worked out but my baby was known to be super stubborn in the womb so I ended up having to get medically induced Although it didn't work, you must treat yourself to a Lyn massage! This is not a review regarding a massage, it is a review based on only the phone conversations I had with Lyn. As I scroll through these reviews, I am noticing a trend; those who have given this business the same amount of stars as I am are all complaining about a Lyn, who I too feel the same way as these other 1 star reviewers do. Simply, she is RUDE. she spoke to me as though I was stupid because I made a simple error filling out my name on her online scheduling system. Also, I do not understand why when a customer calls you answer but cannot make an appointment via phone. Its nice that the option to book online is there, but if a customer wants to make an appointment via phone, why not? Most, if not all businesses never reject their customers who call and tell them to do it online? Work on professionalism than maybe you'll have more satisfied customers. Also, it doesn't matter what the "majority" feels, the negatives always stick out more than the positives. In conclusion, I wont ever be going in or fixing my name to schedule this appointment. I went to Lyn based off her Yelp reviews and she did not disappoint. She literally has magic hands. I have gotten several massages over the years, even at top of the line spas and nothing compares to Lyn. She has a one of a kind technique as she hits those tight knots in your back, legs, and head. It may sound odd but I have never had anyone focus so much on my hands which was a nice change since I work alot with my hands. To be able to walk away with relief from my whole body was a wonderful feeling. To add I am 12 weeks pregnant and Lyn was very aware of positioning needed, as well as proper technique to relieve pain but not hit certain points. I look forward to seeing Lyn throughout my pregnancy as she is very professional and I trust her hands. To add I have paid almost double for a massage that does not even compare to Lyns. I wanted to give her a large tip as I felt she deserved it with the individualized massage, professionalism, and knowledge she shared. It was well earned on her part. Love the ambience, love lyn and love my massages. I used to purchase Groupon/Living Social coupons for massages about once a month or every other month to find a place I loved. I have seen Lyn twice since my first visit and will continue to see her. Her massages are absolutely fantastic and I love her personality and knowledge about my back issues. She also cares about me and the things I'm goin thru in life that have a huge factor in the stress my body continues to go thru. I read the reviews and I had none of those problems the first time I contacted her. No offense, but some people are just too sensitive and easily upset. I can understand not wanting to make a first time appt over the phone. Her time is precious and I would assume would prefer an appt request in writing. Even though we know each other at this point, I make my appts either via text or email and she sends me an email confirmation. I have gone to Pecosas twice, and I have my third appointment booked. The first time I used a Groupon or Daily Deal and the second time I paid cash. Lyn is easily the best massage therapist I have ever been to (I've been to at least 25 different therapists). She is exceptionally attentive, has an excellent personality and demonstrates extraordinary talent as a therapist. I drive down from Walnut Creek to see her, because she's that good. She's not a granola, all alternative, weird psychic energy kind of therapist. She's got a sense of humor, she's straight forward and she's got a great sense of confidence that comes through in her work. I have visited Lyn twice in the past two weeks for a prenatal massage, both at 37 weeks and 39 weeks. I'm not sure if it's her energy, her focus, or her magic hands - but I felt amazing during and after each visit. After today's massage, I swear I left with a glow! I love that she could match my comfort level (DEEP tissue) and connect with all my sweet spots without me having to tell her. Even my baby responded to Lyn - Something about her cranial sacral sequence that really does it for me. She's in a comfortable lower level place that feels set away from the busy world above. Lyn has healing hands for sure! I saw her often during my second pregnancy and she helped take my pain away with the best pregnancy massages! She avoided the trigger points that can stimulate contractions during my pregnancy, but when it was time to deliver I had her push all of the right buttons to bring on the labor. It worked! My gf also saw her during both pregnancies and with her last pregnancy, just a few weeks ago, Lyn Kickstarted those contractions almost immediately. My friend happily delivered hours later. Lyn doesn't normally work weekends but I was fortunate enough to call at the right time when she would be there and booked a Swedish for myself and a prenatal for my sister. Lyn is amazing.. not just any regular sort of amazing but GODDESS AMAZING! It's been a very long time since I've had a massage and an even longer since I've had a good one. She started out with asking me about my list of ailments and trust when I say that list is long! I laid down and just let her go to town while I drifted off into a state of utter euphoria while my body was rubbed and kneaded as Lyn coaxed the pain away. All that talk about her ninja elbows are the truth! She also has stealth ninja hands and the intuition to locate all those places that hurt just a but more than the rest. She also performed this head/scalp massage (Cranial Sacral) that had my toes curling while my scalp buzzed with pleasure. The next morning I woke up in pain, not from the massage or the after-math of it, but from the returning pain I'm so used to on a regular basis. This review is not about the massage, since I did not get one here. Im sure there is nothing wrong with the massages themselves. But this is simply about customer service and professionalism, which is very important to me. Here is the reason I did not book an appointment here: I called to book an appointment with my Groupon and there was no answer. Instead I got 2 texts: #1 - I am in a meeting #2- Can I help you. This was a red flag to me off the bat. I am in the beauty industry and work on a client basis. As a professional, I would never text that to a client, especially a first timer. It would be different if we knew each other and were friends, but this was my first time as a client. Bad first impression. I don't know why I texted back, but I did and I also left a voicemail asking to make an appointment. I did get a call back, but when asking to make an appointment I was told I needed to book online. What business can't help you book an appointment over the phone? Seems very impersonal to me. That was red flag #2. The third red flag for me was the tone in the person's voice when talking with them. It was as if I was a bother to them and as if I was not worth their time. I also felt the person was annoyed with me for not knowing that I was supposed to book online. Now..I don't know if that was the case or not, I am just basing it off the tone I was given. Needless to say... too many red flags for me, so I immediately got my refund for my Groupon. It was such a relief that I could get a refund and not spend my $ on what I felt was bad customer service and unprofessionalism. Also...You have to wait at least 5 weeks to even get an appointment. So if you were needing to get worked on now, you wouldn't be able to. UPDATE (1 week later): I thought I should update all you yelpers on the unprofessionalism of this place... I got 2 messages from this place today and this is what the messages said: #1: "You're Funny. I think I just LOL'D my pants" #2: Sorry you feel that way but clearly you can see the MAJORITY Of my clients are incredibly satisfied and will be coming back AGAIN and AGAIN....... This woman is the truth!! I'm 38 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing so much back and hip pain and just general exhaustion. Feeling at my wits end, I found Lyn and called her up asking for availability today. So lucky for me she had an opening. My goodness, this was the best massage I have ever had. This is not about the message I received, this is about how I was treated at my appointment. My first (and ONLY) appointment I was asked to pay cash (because she was upset about the 40/60 split from living social) and ask me to get a refund on my living social voucher so she could get all her money. I felt I was backed into a corner and asked to pay her direct because she didn't like the terms and conditions with living social, I'm sure they were clearly explained the terms prior to her signing her contact with them. It's was just a mess, she is very unprofessional and the place kind of creeps me out, since it's underground in a dungeon type hole. I WOULD GIVE NO STARS IF IT WAS AN OPTION. this is my first ever yelp review because my mouth is still hanging open and I don't know what to do. If you look at some of the above 'one stars' as I did, before you call you may think these people must be nuts, they sound nuts when they talk about the way this woman acts. But nope, she is super coocoo for coco puffs. I called two weeks ago as well as today aasking about a living social deal I have that expires April 4. She told me she hadn't recived my e-mail or calls and since I had six months she didn't feel as though she needed to honor it. She tried to give me a sob story about how booked she was because of the upcoming expiration. I suggested she extend the expiration date or offer people thier money back. This is when she got an attitude sayin, "it says subject to availability and I'm not available". Lyn gives THE BEST massages ever!! I'm a somewhat picky client, with upper back and shoulder issues. I like my massages deep and therapeutic but not painful. It's really difficult for me to find a therapist who can balance both. Pecosas Touch came recommended by a friend when I was pregnant. I had tried other places for prenatal massages but those places said pregnant women should have gentle massages. Ok fine whatever, but I'd go in to relieve my tight muscles and aches and came out relaxed but still tight and achy. I needed relief!! Lyn set up my prenatal massage comfortably and I laid on my side and let her do her thing. She knew exactly what my body needed and would go deeper, gentler, slower, harder where needed. I didn't have to say a word. She knew all the pressure points to avoid during pregnancy and I was thoroughly impressed, relieved, and relaxed after my wonderful session. During my last days of pregnancy, I was so uncomfortable and over it. I was already dilated, but wasn't having any contractions. I went to Pecosas Touch and told Lyn that I was ready to get this baby out. As requested, she got the points that were previously avoided cuz they're said to trigger contractions. And she relieved all my pregnancy aches and pains. Later that night.. It happened! My water broke, and my contractions started. Labor was a breeze and I have my beautiful baby in my arms as we speak. Oh and her regular, non preggo massages are just as spectacular. I sent my husband to see her for his lower back and sciatic issues and he LOVED his massage. The positive reviews you see here are TRUE. Lyn is absolutely amazing, and I'm hard to please. I have a disc injury that keeps me in 24/7 sciatic pain. I went to her, hoping for some ultra-deep tissue work (if it doesn't hurt, I feel cheated! LOL)...and wow, did she deliver. It was heaven...and when she was done, I could walk without pain. I rarely feel so positive about massage therapists...I'm picky, because I'm there for therapy, not relaxation. However, what I got at Pecosas Touch was both. Lyn loves her work and it shows.
