Don't waste your time or money here. Just save up (if possible) and take acting classes at a reputable place. I went to 2 of the 4 classes I paid for and quickly learned that I would not be returning - didn't even care about wasting my money. Tommy has a big ego, and he's really giving failed actor with a chip on his shoulder. He clearly has unresolved bitterness too - he often complained about how some people have a silver spoon and how he did not - like I get it, but I could hear the anger and bitterness in his words (in 2 classes, I heard this a significant amount of times). He also is insensitive to the less fortunate, repeatedly calling unhoused people in the neighborhood "bums" - no, that has nothing to do with acting, but shows he is not a kind or compassionate person. He is NOT teaching anything of substance. He gives recycled scripts that are such terrible quality. He rambles on about unimportant stuff & at the end of every sentence says "you get it? You get it?" Like no dude... I don't get it cuz you aren't talking about anything ... Lol he literally doesn't teach ANYTHING! He uses class time to talk about other people's success and name drop, etc. although I can't really remember him ever giving a bio on what he's accomplished. He didn't even introduce himself to me in my first day of class lol like what the hell. I had to ask him his name mid-class idk, maybe it's just me but that seemed like an ego thing too. In my first class, he told me I had used "method acting" to channel emotion during my cold read - something I did entirely on my own, with no instruction or guidance from him. As a new actor, I tapped into something I didn't even know I could do. Instead of taking that **teaching opportunity** to explain method acting for myself and others, he quickly moved on to whatever nonsense he was rambling about, never returning to discuss such an important topic. It felt like he knew about something that I didnt know and chose to gatekeep instead of teach. I'VE DESIGNED LEARNING/TRAINING PROGRAMS IN THE TECH SPACE FOR 10 YEARS - MY EXPERTISE IS TEACHING ADULT LEARNERS SO I KNOW BAD TEACHING WHEN I SEE IT. & Alma is just personality-less and rude. The curious part is I don't think she's intentionally rude, I just don't think she has common sense to know what good customer service and politeness is. Lastly, and most importantly, Tommy is ridiculing and picking people apart, humiliating them every class. There are people in the class who seem genuinely talented - they seem to be the ones he picks on the most. He will tear their performance down, ask them condescendingly pointed questions & you can see them shrinking on the spot, questioning themselves and their instinct. This is not the way to start someone on their acting career. People need to be empowered to trust their intuition in this industry. There are also people who are maybe not as talented and instead of trying to teach them, he literally gives them ZERO actionable or relevant feedback to improve. It's like he just likes watching their not-so-great performances to laugh internally because he is NOT helping them improve. No shade - I saw a really badddd cold read and Tommy says something like "ok ok, that was good." It was not good and the guy obviously doesn't know what he could or should do better cuz the instructor won't tell him. Long review I know, I only leave reviews when I feel strongly so that should tell you something. This is not meant to bash ITM - I'm just telling my experience. There are so many other places you can go and really learn to act. Idk how this place was in the past, but present day it sucks. Waste of time and money. This review is based on my personal experience at ITM Acting Studios. I've attended this class for approx. 1 year and I can say with a clear conscience that the instructor, Tommy and his partner Alma, have been very unprofessional. The scripts he gave us to study are hardly legible, poorly printed and covered in some else's hand writing for some reason. He openly ridicules his students in front of others and uses humiliation tactics to exercise his power. He charges students to attend his class and takes professional head shots. What he won't tell you is that he changed his title to Acting Coach instead of official Agent so he can still charge his clients for lesions, regardless if the book gigs or not. In the end he still gets paid regardless if you succeed. He's a hustler. He name drops celebrities that he does not know to make himself sound bigger then what he is. The studio itself is outdated and has very limited space. I advise any new actors or actresses to strongly consider another place to hone their craft. read more

They received a lot of great opportunities and many call backs from auditions. Thomas the director, not sure what his position is, was very rude to me over the phone. My child is five years old and she's already been on a couple of TV shows. We live in the inland Empire and the studio is close to me. I work in the entertainment industry so I'm not writing this because my child wasn't able to get anything out of it. I'm writing this because of how rude Thomas was to me. When we spoke to on the phone told us that they start off at seven years of age. We said that was fine our child has been on a couple of shows we're just looking for somewhere to help her get her skills together before we start taking her on more auditions. They seem to static about this, that she was already in the industry. and she transferred me to Thomas who agreed to give my child a try out. The school is not that expensive it's only $85 for six weeks of class. One day a week. That's not bad considering. We chose Sunday is the day. But when I said that I would like to come in tomorrow which is Tuesday and pay and it Vance the $85 and let My child see the school and what she would be getting into he then called me problematic and said that I was being very difficult. Said they were going to pass on her. Said that I was already asking too many questions and being too needy. First of all I don't need that school. And I did not choose it because it was only $85 for six weeks. I chose it because it's convenient for my wife because we live in Chino. I work in Los Angeles and Burbank and Hollywood in the entertainment industry. But I wouldn't be able to take her to class that would be my wife's job. So he wasn't doing me any favors if anything and call me rude or nasty if you like but I felt like it was quite the opposite way. I didn't feel like that until after he was so rude. They might be a good school but I'll never know. Sidenote he tried tooting his own horn saying I've been doing this for 20 years I've done this and I've done that. Then why haven't I heard of you. Why even mention any of that to me. He didn't mention it to say that I have the credibility to teach your child the right things. He said it like it was a contest. In The Moment Acting Studio has been at the same location for 15 years. The instructor has been in the entertainment industry for over 28 years. They have helped out many of the talent by getting them great opportunities to read for top notch television, feature films, and commercial projects. They are priced very reasonable for this industry and believe that actors do need training but should not have to pay a fortune for that. Please forgive the complaints from the parents who children are too young to attend ITM Studio. They only work with actors from age 7 and up. This sometimes can get a parent upset when they are not able to have their kid attend. It is very clear on the website that kids acting class is age 7 and up. This studio is an amazing place to learn at. The Instructor is very knowledgeable and genuinely is in it to help actors obtain the skills they need to succeed in the Entertainment Business. I've been attending classes at the studio for a few years and not only have these classes improved my acting abilities but they've also improved on my confidence and belief in myself. The lessons themselves cover everything I feel an actor should know if they take their craft seriously and want to pursue their dreams of becoming a successful actor. I want to start with saying the instructor was a very nice welcoming gentleman. I had called and inquired about my 6 year old attending the 6 week sessions since they mentioned the age is usually 7. The receptionist said that she needed to ask then puts me on hold, returns to let me know it will be okay for her to come try it out, and if she is a "fit" she can enroll. I arrive to the Tuesday evening session for kids and ask if my daughter wasn't a "fit" would I be able to get a refund. The instructor mentioned of course we can work it out. He asked me to proceed upstairs and sign up. When I proceed to their office I am rudely greeted by the receptionist. I'm assuming it might be Alma, given the other reviews on Google. She kept interrupting me, talking over me, and not listening to what I was asking. Which was if my daughter wasn't a "fit" would I get a refund? Obviously not for the session she did attend, I completely understand that fee is earned but the remaining 5 weeks she would not attend if she wasn't a "fit", would a refund be issued? She again spoke over me and said "No, refunds"...continued to argue with me while giving me dirty looks. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism in my life. Moral of this Story is...this seems like a nice studio but I can see why people would not trust having their kids in a studio with such negatives vibes. read more
