I absolutely love this school!! I recommend everyone to do online! It's so much easier to handle and you don't have to meet in person at all! I loved it so much that now I'm going to take their HR class in March! I know I see so many negative comments, but I never had a problem with the college. Unprofessional staff. I would initially call multiple times to inquire over their DH program and would be sent to Voicemail. The DH admissions person finally returned my calls but I would miss them because I would be working. For this reason, I went on their website to schedule a call/zoom meeting for a time that worked best for me. I waited all day for someone to reach out since I had already booked a specific time slot, nobody ever did. A month later, I decided to call back AGAIN just to be met with passive aggressiveness from one of the ladies; basically insinuating that because they attempted to reach out to me in the past, they no longer wanted to give me their time of day. I say this because I left my info with the receptionist in attempts to finally meet and I have yet to hear back from them. So overall, it's okay for them to not pick up their phones and not check zoom appointments, but the moment we do it, we're not worth their time anymore. I fear this might be the only school that lets their phones go to voicemail regularly. read more

My experience at SJVC Ontario has been nothing but stressful and disappointing. The lack of organization and communication in this program is unbelievable. I completed my clinical hours and had proof of it, yet the school still claimed I was "absent" and refused to let me take my final. Instead of reviewing the evidence or supporting me as a student, they chose to believe a clinic that gave inaccurate information. For how expensive this program is, the support is simply not there. When issues came up, nobody took responsibility and nobody advocated for me. I felt ignored, dismissed, and treated unfairly, despite doing everything I was supposed to do. Went for a free dental examination today. The facility is professionally run with about 25 students on the floor who are closely supervised by professional and experienced hygienists. Before you leave, you walk away with the student's examination, the hygienist's examination and doctor's complete, observant examination. It's a pretty good deal if you want to help out a student or get a free examination or procedure. read more

If you plan on going to this school to learn a trade, save your money and join the union instead. For $26k, the students deserve much better, like instructors who are present in class everyday. The quality of the education isn't great. I had to basically teach myself the material. I couldn't get an email reply from the dean of student affairs when inquiring about a book I needed for class. read more

I called to inquire about their Respiratory program and I kept getting in this cycle endless cycle of phone tag with them. When I finally got a hold of them, I was transferred multiple times which took a few days to finally get the person who's in charge of enrolling students for the RT program. I attended this school shortly Spring of 2020, right before we were in a complete shutdown due to Covid. My experience at this school was terrible!!! I do not recommend this school. I was in the Dental Hygien program and had a poor experience with one of the instructors, Smith. Incredibly rude, condescending, demeaning woman. Admin forwarded some paper email asking me how the school could improve and "help" me. I mentioned my experience with Smith. After that I was her target. The very next day after I had mentioned her behavior, I had her for class and the look on her face. She knew and gave me the dirtiest look ever. After that, I was her target. Some examples of her passive aggressive behavior were: Harassing me in front of the class and patients, belittling behavior. If I had a question she answered with so much hate and disgust. This woman has a serious problem. She added to my stress and anxiety due to her passive aggressive behavior towards me. Long story short, I help care my autistic sister and we were in the middle of a pandemic, my sister had to be admitted to psych ward for 2 weeks. While she was in and out of the hospital, contracted Covid and got my entire family sick. I am a breast cancer survivor , with the stress of school, family, sisters health, I ended up failing anesthesia class , which Smith happened to be my instructor again. The school, Smith, knew of my family troubles and health. I was pushed out of the school: the administration knows this, smith knows this, and the Dean Cary knows this. I appealed my case, nobody got back to me , I was pushed from one person to the next, and they purposefully did this so I miss the new class. After I reach out to the President of San Joaquin, a staff member reached out, heard what I had to say and says to me that I can apply for the next cohort , but I am not guaranteed a spot, even though it was Dean Cary's fault as to me missing the opening that was available for me since 2 people had dropped. They did themselves a favor. I had sent my appeal 4 MONTHS before the new class was set to begin. So why? Not to mentioned, their computers always glitched and if you ran out of time , they still blame you for being slow. Things always changed over night, lesson plans, quizzes, etc etc and mind you, the first 2 semesters we were doing everything online. How do you change plans like that and expect everyone to be on board ? Specially when we are doing everything online ? The calendar and plans for the day was frequently changed by Smith. And they don't provide patients like they said they would and you will be charged later for your tools( which cost up to 4 k. They don't tell you that your 4-5,000 tools won't be included in the cost. The worst part is not only is the instructor the issue, the administration is worse! starting with Dean Cary lady and whoever is above her. Terrible people. I'm still reporting this school to secondary education. Just never got around it. They say we may forgot how people treated us, but you never forget how they made us feel. read more

I had an amazing experience at SJVC Ontario! For someone who never liked the dentist, I can honestly say this was my best dental experience I've ever had. The students are professional and knowledgeable and are ready to answer any questions or concerns you may have. They seem to really enjoy what they do and the services are complimentary which is a bonus. Sweta, one of the student dental hygienists, cleaned my teeth and did a wonderful job! They suck ass! The vet tech program mostly Dismissive and Worse to the Staff. The teaching isnt better the teachers hardly even care if you pass. There is one teacher named Fove Hardy she was one of the best but you could tell how work was taking a toll on her plus the comments toward her were very two faced and fake. Don't recommend this school. I am a parent of a current student. The school was told my daughter has anxiety and high functioning autism on admission. School assured her she would receive the support she needed to complete their program. Classroom work she excelled in. There were no accommodations needed. The last part of the program, the externship, became more difficult. When my daughter started having difficulty we met with the Dean. What was promised didn't happen. No interwiews, no options of where to go and no options how many hours a week or days of the week. Four hours a day will be spent driving for the externship. The Dean made a plan how to help, but, she never communicated effectively with her staff. In my opinion they could have done a better job. read more

Free teeth cleaning! This review is for the dental hygiene clinic. The receptionists are super friendly and nice. You might have been approached by a student to be their "guinea pig". Don't worry because their instructors check their work after every step. (So sessions go up to 3 hours). If you want to try it out, they take walk-ins and sometimes assign you to a student. If you go in at 8 AM, you'll be done by noon. And the Ontario Mills mall is directly across the street!! read more

I'm not a student here yet or maybe never considering the experience I had just trying to get information about the RN program. First off, it's nearly impossible to get a hold of someone here. After waiting a couple days after requesting info I finally got a call and scheduled my appt to tour the school. Two days before my appt my car had issues and was unable to attend. So for two days I was trying to get ahold of them and was always transferred to the after hours operator even though I was calling within hours of operation. I left a message with the operator to get them to call me back so I can reschedule. I waited a whole day after my appt and never got any call or response so I ended up just going to school. I was really interested in this school, so I was desperate to get info. I show up and explain my situation, and the front desk was very nice about it and got the nursing advisor. Out of respect I won't mention her name but she comes out and she already looks annoyed. I kindly ask her if I can get some information and the situation prior about the missed appt and if I can get actual info about the program and says "well I'm back to back to back with appts" very rudely but proceeds to take us to her office. She continues to say "what do you want to know". Well aren't you the advisor? How about you tell me? Fast forward I want to schedule a tour and she says why if you're not applying till 2023? I want a tour to have options open and she seemed to have a problem with it. Overall I would give this place a chance again but no longer want to go through applying this school through this rude advisor. If I could leave a worse score for anything else I would. Don't consider coming here, if you value anything about your financial status and your overarching development as a professional in whatever field you're trying to enter, you're better off dedicating yourself to a debt at a real institution that has facilities that will actually work and they won't staff a geriatric instructor who isn't even able to remember where they are or what it is they're supposed to be teaching you. Imagine dedicating your time to coming to class on time for months on end to be given instruction, only to be let down at the most fundamental courses that will be the foundation to your learning experience as you develop further. For months I, as well as other students, had to complain to the Dean of students, Davina Carry, about the instructor Terry Carver for his gross incompetence and inability to lead a reasonable course of instruction for our "First Wheel" courses. Fast forward to graduation and I am given a degree yet no palpable resources to find a line of employment without taking a massive pay cut for who knows how long before id be able to make a living wage again. SJVC claims to offer career services assistance when in all reality is they have someone surfing Indeed and will offer the first low income offering positions that reasonably wouldn't even provide enough income for the grossly overpriced tuition plans they'll enroll you on nonetheless feeding yourself, your family, or paying whatever other bills you have. SJVC is the place you go to when all options have exhausted themselves and you can't even find yourself a position under a Union anywhere. It's the option you go to when you need a certificate and already have a foot in the door somewhere. They will only ever work with you when you have the ability to give them an ultimatum and once you're no longer on campus for them to worry about, they will hardly give you a second thought. I highly implore anybody who hopes to build a better future for themselves to look somewhere where the facility provides operable teaching apparatuses, they will take student input seriously when it comes to staff members rather than having the assistant dean of students or other teachers hold the hand of teachers that clearly should not be teaching, ultimately where the institution will actually be inclined to teach you what you're enrolling for and not just pump a degree and hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt into your lap. read more

This school is a NO GOOD. They deserve to lose all accreditations. The RT program was terrible unprofessional, unorganized and all of their equipment is old and barley works. They are not a teaching school at all as they would just pass every students with bypassing CLOs and Stimulations. They do not have tutors and all they would say it email then your question and wont get back to you till days later. Save your money and go somewhere else. They have a terrible campus president shannon who just walks around eating snacks all day and has a smirk. Their Dean Davina walks around like she has a bad day everyday and looks like it. I am proud to say that i am a graduate of SJVC Ontario RN Program and now a Registered Nurse. I would say that RN Program is a hard program that needs a lot of dedication and focus. SJVC helped you in all aspect of your class endeavors, but it is still up to you as a student to manage everything. I enjoyed the laboratory simulation where you can practice critical thinking on what to do on a patient. We have tons of exams and quizzes, but those exams helped me passed NCLEX with ease. Overall, I recommend SJVC to any aspiring nurses out there. It's a great start to fulfill your dreams. read more

This school as a whole is a great school. They demand excellence and that makes you push harder to be better. I just finished my first term as a respiratory care practitioner, it was hard and I have a lot of hard times ahead of me, But I'm pushing through it and all the staff and teachers are so helpful, they want you to succeed, so they give you everything they can to help facilitate this. As a "resource" that is supposed to be available to students for printing and research, the computer lab lacks working computers, working printers, and the staff that is supposed to be present always seems to be somewhere else. The electrical course is a scam. Its completely useless for industrial tech ,1 month. I taught the teachers more than they taught me. 2 teachers quit while i was there, one after fighting a student. Each part of this course tells you what different electricians do in their respective jobs, but you will not get any actual training. The PLC course is a joke. Zero work on troubleshooting. I feel like i spent $18000 to learn how to install a light, something i could learn from reading the directions on the box. read more

Under the COVID circumstances they did a great job with distance learning.The financial officers worked with me to get loans and other financial assistance. I would highly recommend this school to people of all ages. Not sure where else I should go with this, I don't want to be involved but just FYI. Let's just say sometime this week during class a certain instructor absolutely destroyed and embarrassed a student in front of the class. What was unusual was the fact that the student successfully completed a lab, rather than getting a "good job" and a signed lab sheet to be submitted for credit, the student was put on the spot. Keep in mind no one up until that night was asked to explain how, what and if they could explain what they had just completed. It was complete silence and the awkward silence was troubling. The student was calm but you could clearly see they were bothered. quietly gathered their belongings and left the class. Darn shame to see that, maybe the instructor was having a bad day but there's no excuse to do that to someone. You can bet your behind once this program is a thing of the past, I will not be returning. read more

This school has been my pathway to my dream of becoming a nurse! The RN program is fairly new and has had some bumps along the way and thing s I felt as not just a student but an adult that should be more enforced as far as rules but they are doing a great job. I am so thankful to have been able to complete my program here! From a volunteer: Great way to help out a dental student. Also get free deep cleanings. Helps when you don't have any insurance. Youngest age they clean is kids 5 yrs of age. Average cleaning is 4 hours due to each procedure being evaluated by a floor instructor. Students are Junior or Senior level that do the cleaning. Call office ahead fellow Yelpers and bring your teeth and time and volunteer. -- Only downfall is if you have any medical history that may require doctor authorization for their records. Whether it's a positive reaction to a test years back or some other logistical oversight by the student. They can turn you away if this causes a issue upon arrival screening. No limit to cleaning. You can go for years. Again, handy for families who do not have dental insurance for deep cleanings. read more
