I stated at Platt College in 2020 with my AS degree - graduated with Honor Roll and now in 2022 I'm continuing with my BA. I have had nothing but excellent experiences here at Platt College. First of, MRS. MILLER -OMG- She is the BEST! I mean she literally took the time, helped me and believed in me. Any question I had, she quickly responded. My Teachers MRS. G (Jessica Gonzalez) and MRS. GHADA ALFRED - the BEST!!!!! Helped me in every step of the way! Mrs G. even helps me when I have Billing questions for work. Mrs Ghada believed me in when it came to passing my NCCT test. Mrs G. was with me when I passed my NCCT test and experienced that wonderful moment with me. I am not getting paid or extra credit to write this review. I am truly grateful for Platt College and all the great people that work there including the front desk girls, Financial aid, Oh and Jonathan Serafin who is soooo awesome and helpful! Go talk to him for your job needs. Again, not getting paid, no extra credit - nothing like that! Just want to acknowledge who has helped me get to where I am today. Today - I am privately contracted with a Podiatrist Doctor as a Billing Consultant. I plan to start my own Billing company this year along with graduating with my BA with Honor Roll in March of 2023. I went in for their sonography program and one of their advisor Anthony convinced me that the field was to competitive and not enough jobs and eventually told me to do medical billing and coding he told me I could find many jobs and based on what i spoke with him about that career would be best for me . DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ... Worst school ever!! You have a complaint and you take it up the chain and the problem is still there. No one is ever there to help you out! You have to do it yourself! You want to feel shitty about yourself and your progress within the school then sign yourself up! You want instructors who aren't useful or knowledgeable, this is the place! You want instructors who expect you to have the same level of experience in a few days of being there then you have found the right place! No type of structure every instructor is on different pages. To those who are looking to go to a school for DMS . This school is credited but not by CAAHEP. It is so important to go to a College or University that is CAAHEP accredited such as Orange Coast and Loma Linda etc. and keep doing research that way you are eligible to take boards. This facility will say you are eligible but only by taking ARRT exam or by working a year full time or by getting a bachelors which means another Tuition. To find work full time it could be difficult for new grads who have no experience and who aren't ARDMS certified and who haven't gone to a CAAHEP accredited program. Pick a good reputable school that will offer adequate training to prepare you for your career and for your ARDMS boards upon graduation which is what CAAHEP accredited programs will prepare you for. It was a good decision to enroll to this school. There are many good things I could say about this school. I enrolled for the MAS program and it went by so quickly. I decided to enroll for the bachelor's program because it's a good school to get hands on experience and they provide an externship opportunity towards the end of your program. The professors that I've had are very caring, patient and knowledgeable. I enjoyed being in Mrs. G's class because she really makes sure you are learning the material in her class instead of just getting a good grade. She goes above and beyond for her students and prepares you for your career. Another teacher I also enjoyed was Mrs. Rita. She's also very knowledgeable and patient. Please save your time and money and go to ACC or CONCORD or SJVC JUST DO NO GO TO ANY PLATT AS THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY There are students that are graduating while they have been failing the whole time and still getting there degree. I see multiple students cheat and lie on test just to get by. They don't teach anything but give you work to do and tell you to read and read instead of explaining the work to you. I went to Platt college in 2006 for their Paralegal Program I was very excited because they informed that I could attend the university of LaVerne to further my educational career upon completion of their program. That was not to be the case. Most of the credits were nontransferable. I was also informed that for life I could come back for a small fee yearly and take refresher courses, I decided in 2018 to go back and take 2 classes. I was told by the administration that I would not be able to due to the fact that they discontinued the program. This is depressing. My older daughter graduated from here about ten years ago and she is doing great. I took my youngest daughter this week to look at the same degree my older earned, and the campus looks really bad. Nothing has been updated, and everything looks like it is deteriorating. I recognized some professors and other staff and they all told me the same, that the owners do not care anymore. They don't care about the students anymore only money. But they raaise the tuition up every year. We had a long conversation in the parking lot and they told me to not waste my time and just look else where because my daughter was not going to learn anything, and they are jsut going to let her pass her classes to get their money. I was told that their financial aid office would not be able to help me in any way with my Fasfa unless I had a family of my own. From the cheap Chromebook that is useless with limited technology to the old school tv that is pushed out on a cart with a VHS player, the place is pitiful. The school pushes hard for students to leave perfect reviews to keep their accreditation while never taking into account the lack of actual lessons being taught. The Graphic Design program is a JOKE where you can learn more on YouTube or in a high school class than in this full-time, waste of time program. They falsely advertise student scholarships. There was a hole in the ceiling for months. Broken TVs. Broken doors. AC/Heater didn't work. This school acts like they care but NEVER address student concerns about teachers and their lack of knowledge but spend thousands of dollars to shut down the campus to throw midday parties (like a high school). After complaining, I got dirty looks and a stare down from John Ruby. Rude! Parents: Find another school that will actually teach your kid the skills necessary to thrive and find a position in design. Platt did send me a new original of my diploma, which I suppose signals their further unwillingness to count those credits earned toward my AA. I cannot articulate my disappointment any better than to say, again, that it is incomprehensible to me that Platt insists that I take the entire course over because they refuse to count the credits represented by my diploma...which they gave me. Norma Lopez herself stated, after looking at my transcript, that all I was missing was gen ed credits for the AA...but apparently Rigo Hernandez, the dean, sees only an opportunity to try to squeeze more money out of me by forcing me to take the credits again, even though my transcript shows me having these credits earned. I agree with what several others have said on this forum....Platt is nothing but a money grab. It is pretty bad that they won't even count their own credits... read more

This school seemed promising and welcoming at first. I graduated from the RT program in 2022 and it was a messy process to finish. The program costed so much money, but you definitely don't get what you paid for. I had lost track of the amount of teachers who missed or the number of substitutes who were hired to teach the core classes when they themselves didn't even know what they were doing. I believe it was the head director himself, Ynami who even "taught" some of the courses that were required and what it ended up being was him standing in front of a class just asking bogus questions about previous content and getting frustrated at students for not knowing the answers. It was ridiculous what me and my cohort had to deal with because teachers seemed to try and be involved in student's personal lives judging and mistreating us and the director himself of the program acts like a bully towards students almost as if he was trying to push us to our limit to drop out of the program. Which FYI you still have to pay off the program if you drop. Overall the program was bare minimum fine, the cost was ridiculous for what you get aka no teachers, limited equipment and rude staff who barely care about your success as a person or student. read more

Mrs. G has been my favorite teacher by far. Not only because she genuinely cares about my education and success but she makes it fun and is understanding when it comes to working, life, and going to school. She continues to push me to do better and better myself. I really enjoy her class and discussion questions so much that I even tell my wife and friends about what I'm learning and find myself enjoying speaking about the knowledge I'm gaining. I can see a change in my way of thinking just from being in her classes. She is by far the best teacher I've ever had! I graduated from Platt a long time ago and regret it every time I look at my student loan debt. The credits were nontransferable and my degree has been essentially useless in advancing my career. I graduated Platt College in August. Overall the program and school has great staff who are always willing to help you out. Mr. Monsale, Mr. Ynami, and other clinical instructors/professors were extremely understanding and took time out of their day to help me out, even after my graduation. Jonathan Serafin in Career Services was persistent and constantly sent me job openings. He was always professional, friendly, and helped me with issues that I might have had regarding mix-ups at the school. read more

I enrolled in the DMS program and i completed my Associates last December 2017. i've gained a lot of experience and knowledge . All the instructors were very helpful when it comes to students learning and its really nice that they provide a hands on experience before you go out to the real world. I knew i wanted to continue on with my studies and Platt College offers Bachelors program in Healthcare management which i knew it would also benefit me in the future. I'll be done with BA program by the end of this year! Mrs. G is one of the instructors that made my bachelors experience interesting so far. She has so much energy that she brings to class everyday, who knows you can have fun and be educated at the same time! I would recommend platt college to my friends and family. I completed the respiratory therapy program at Platt College in March. I had a really good experience there. The whole respiratory staff was amazing. Especially the instructors. They are all so helpful when it comes to questions and concerns.They care and it shows. Ive passed both my boards and am already working. And I have them to thank. Jon Serafin, the career service advisor also is amazing! He has been so diligent helping me with job placement . He helps with paper work and follow ups . He keeps in touch and checks in regularly even after graduation . He pretty much helps with everything and anything you need. He's awesome!! I can't say to much about financial aid because I didn't really deal with them . For the most part I def recommend the respiratory program because of the instructors and the career advisor. read more

Platt College has been an amazing and easy process. I enrolled in the DMS Program (UltraSound). Muna the director is very knowledgeable about pathology and anatomy. Loretta (Teacher and Clinical Director) is always willing to stay after class and help with anything especially physics. I am now 3 classes away from finishing my Bachelors Program. And it has been a great experience. All the teachers are understanding of life and things that may come up. Fermin is an amazing teacher. And brings his own unique style to teaching. He is always current with news and tries to incorporate it into his lectures. Mrs. G is another teacher that has her own style, but it totally works. She brings so much energy to class even on a Monday morning. You can never be bored with her. She also makes things easy to understand. read more

They convince you that you'll have a great support system of staff there to help you anytime and it's all false. I was in the medical assistant program because they told me to go into it before going for DMS to get an " idea " of what the medical field was like. And when I tried switching they gave me a bunch of sh** as to why I shouldn't. Second, I was not learning ANYTHING. No hate to Ms.Ghada but her way of teaching was just telling us to read sherpath. I forgot the name of another teacher would just talk about her personal life instead of teaching. I PROMISE YOU. She's talk about her son and her life. I never got any hands on practice to what a medical assistant does expect aside tempature , and vitals. with Jessica Gonzales who's class I attended once before I dropped out she actually showed one how to help an OBVYN. And I dropped out because Norma was useless with helping me for a transfer because I couldn't keep attending day classes due to my personal life, she suggested I dropped out since her words said " seems like you gave up might ass drop out " they could of care less I dropped out but of course real quick they wanna send me my $8,000 bill for attending 6 months. And how am I going to pay for that?? I wouldn't recommend this school, you don't learn and advisors don't help with things you actually need. When someone finally did get back to me the attitude they gave me for just asking them question on the program was ridiculous. I just wanted to know how the program worked and if they were CAAHEP accredited, which they are NOT. Don't waist your time and money going here there just trying to scam you out of money and aren't even accredited with the CAAHEP and don't allow you to sit for your board exams. When walking into the school they are eager to show you all the good things.. anything to make you want to go there.. sure you get an associate of science.. in medical assisting.. and you get an opportunity to become a certified medical assistant, but the NCCT exam you take is for one year certificate only!! Like why go through 15 month program to only be certified for one year.. that really hurt my spirit because now I have to recertify next year!?! I was told in the beginning it would be a 5 year certificate.. I was super excited to have 5 years with plenty of experience in the field before my next CMA exam.. but nope... Platt, you should choose a better certificate program for your students who are spending a lot of time and money on you. I'm super disappointed. read more

Disclaimer: I am NOT a student of Platt College, nor have I been in the past. I am (was) a prospective student. I recently went online to inquire about Platt's Ultrasound program's. I am not your typical college student: I am 44, a working professional musician and self-employed consultant. I have already attended college nearly twenty years ago, and I also have worked at several colleges in my lifetime, so I am familiar with how successful colleges run and how their admission processes work. Needless to say, that is why I am leaving a negative review for Platt. First, there was minimal information about the program on their website. I found no easy way to request a brochure or further information about the college or the program specifically. Now granted, I realize that this is a different day and age, but if brochures and other literature is not going to be made available for request, you would think that information would be readily available online, but no. The only information requested about me was my name and telephone number. I specifically gave my Google Voice number because my regular number is my work telephone number and I am often on conference calls and work related calls during the day as a freelancer. (I work in social media and public relations in the music industry.) What happened next was incredibly frustrating: I began receiving calls EVERY SINGLE DAY. But not only did I receive a call each day, but when I did not answer, they would call back 2-4 times in a row. After several days of me not answering, they decided to find an alternate phone number for me - my work phone number (which I did not give to them) and began calling me there. I then began receiving emails that classes start 7/26 and that I needed to enroll as quickly as possible to get in on the next semester. WHAT?!!? I knew NOTHING about the school, NOTHING about the program, had NO ADVISER, saw NO literature, NOTHING. It was very apparent what Platt college was all about. I emailed them back and asked them to stop calling me. I also asked for literature to be sent. I heard nothing back from them, but I did get an email today and the first two lines of the email sums it up pretty nicely, I think: "SENT TO MULTIPLE PEOPLE SIMULTANEOUSLY Please disregard if not Applicable to you." Absolutely. Not a problem. Thank you for making it abundantly clear that I am not valued as an individual at your school. My tuition dollars will be going somewhere else. PS? I have to wonder about the educational integrity of a school that sends out emails with basic blatant capitalization errors to their prospective students. read more

*****2.5 stars for Platt College***** If you are debating going to this school, I hope you find my review helpful. I attended this school in 2004-2006 for the Graphic Design/Web Design program. I do not know what changes the school has made since then so my review might be a little dated. First and foremost, Platt College is a business. They want to make money, period. This can be an advantage and also a disadvantage to students. I'll explain further later. They are also an accredited college, however their accreditations do not parallel other universities. This is a technical school so if you decide you want to attend this school to get an associates or bachelors degree then later want to attend a regular college to further your education, you'll find most classes wont transfer. I said earlier that it can be beneficial to students because Platt College runs like a business. Yes, students can expect up-to-date equipment and the latest technology to serve the students needs. Platt College wants you to succeed when you graduate. The better success rate they have, the more students will likely sign up with them. This equates to more money. On the flip side, this can be a major disadvantage to students because they have set their standards very low. They do not want you to fail a class or get behind. They want their college to run much like an assembly line. The more back ups they have, the less they can produce and the less money they can collect. They do not want students to get frustrated and quit. Therefore the standard is set very, very low. English and math classes are at high school levels. Furthermore, it's impossible to fail their graphics/web design classes. I went through several web design classes confused because I couldn't quite grasp the programming concept, however I was given A's the entire time. By the time I graduated, I had absolutely no concept how to create a website. It's embarrassing to tell people I majored in web design but I don't have a clue how websites are made. I definitely have regrets going to this school but I also have to admit that I don't think the school is horrible. Below you will find a list of Pros and Cons: Cons: 1. Low academic standard 2. Very expensive ($50,000 for a BA.) 3. Average-Poor quality teachers 4. Poor transition from College-Career (No internships and job-placement is poor) 5. Misleading to students. Pros: 1. Fast education in a tech career 2. They handle all your financial aid paperwork. No need to re-apply every semester. 3. Teachers and staff are friendly 4. Always up-to-date with industry standard 5. Graduates can re-take courses for free at anytime (I'll give them an extra star if this is in fact true.) It's actually not a bad school. I am disappointed with my experience primarily with the upper division/ Web design program. The program was still very new and was severely lacking. I have had a few freelance jobs but never really had the chance to work in the industry because I had children soon after I graduated. However, with the training they provided in graphic design (NOT web design) I feel fairly confident that I could land at the very least an entry level graphic design position.
