I recently graduated from West Coast University Ontario's nursing program, and I'm so grateful for…read morethe support I received throughout my journey. One thing that really stood out to me was the career support after graduation. The job fair hosted by the school gave me the opportunity to connect directly with hospitals and recruiters, and it ultimately helped me secure my first RN job! A huge thank you to Brittany Crow in Career Services for all of her guidance and support. She was incredibly helpful throughout the process and truly cared about helping students succeed after graduation. Her advice and encouragement made such a difference for me. Nursing school is definitely challenging, but I'm thankful for the opportunities, connections, and experiences I gained at WCU Ontario. Excited to officially start my career as an RN!

I want to start by saying that the instructors in this program have been excellent. The theory and…read moreclinical faculty I've worked with are knowledgeable, supportive, and clearly invested in student learning. My frustration has been with the administrative side of the program. In my experience, communication with administration and advising has been slow and often unclear. Emails can take days to receive a response, and when responses do come they do not always directly answer the question that was asked. Calling the phone numbers listed in official emails has also been difficult, as I have often been unable to reach someone who can provide help. I have had several experiences like this during the program. One example that stood out was when I received urgent reminder emails stating that I needed to submit a Live Scan form by the end of the day or I would not be able to continue to the next term. At that time, I had not even been informed of my upcoming schedule, and I was no longer enrolled in the course that required the Live Scan. This created confusion and unnecessary stress. When I tried to resolve the issue, I called the numbers listed in the email but could not reach anyone. I then used the school's website live chat, which connected me to the front desk, who then transferred me to the same program assistant I had originally been trying to reach. After explaining the situation, I was given another phone number to call, which also did not work. What makes situations like this frustrating is the difference in expectations. Students are expected to meet strict deadlines with serious consequences if something is missed, yet getting clear answers or support from administration often required multiple attempts and several days. In a program where missing a requirement or class can result in being dropped and taking on additional debt, timely and clear communication is critical. Again, the instructors I've had have been great. My experience with the administrative side of the program, however, has been difficult and at times felt unsupported.

Hi, I'm Gricelda, and this will be a lengthy review!…read more I am an LVN graduate, Class of 2025, from Lotus Medical Career College. My experience at this school was incredibly positive. The professors were excellent and always pushed us to become the best versions of ourselves. The front desk staff worked tirelessly to keep everything in order, and they always made an effort to decorate for holidays like Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They did a beautiful graduation for us as well. I was fortunate to have a small class, and over time, we became like a second family. The friendships I made here will last a lifetime. As for the Director of Nursing (DON), Ms. Assima, I know some reviews describe her as strict, but I see it differently. She has a strong and passionate teaching style, always pushing students not to give up and never to be lazy. Her focus is on education and success, and she truly wants every student to pass. The fact that she never dropped a single student speaks volumes she's not just about the money, as some people in reviews suggest. She genuinely cares about her students and has a big heart for helping people. Now, about the program itself wow! It was intense, with five days of classes per week for nearly a year. You have to be mentally prepared for that level of commitment and willing to put in the work. Studying hard is a must, and the ATI... oh boy, that's a beast! But like anything else, if you put in the effort, you can master it. I'm currently working on my ATI Green Light so I can take the NCLEX-PN, and I will truly miss this school. I have no doubt that Lotus Medical Career College will continue to be a great school for decades to come. It would be amazing if Ms. Assima expanded the school to offer an LVN-to-RN bridge program. She is motivated, capable, and passionate about education, and I know many of us would love to come back for further learning. I'll try to update this review once I pass the Green Light and NCLEX. I have to send all the staff thank you gifts as wellThank you to everyone at Lotus Medical Career College for this unforgettable journey. Class of 2025

I loved it so much that now I'm going to take their HR class in March! I know I see so many negative comments, but I never had a problem with the college. As for people getting back to me, it did take s min so I kept bugging them but that was only because I needed the information for my new classes. Other than that, the online classes are great!!!

The DH admissions person finally returned my calls but I would miss them because I would be working. For this reason, I went on their website to schedule a call/zoom meeting for a time that worked best for me. I waited all day for someone to reach out since I had already booked a specific time slot, nobody ever did. A month later, I decided to call back AGAIN just to be met with passive aggressiveness from one of the ladies; basically insinuating that because they attempted to reach out to me in the past, they no longer wanted to give me their time of day. I say this because I left my info with the receptionist in attempts to finally meet and I have yet to hear back from them. So overall, it's okay for them to not pick up their phones and not check zoom appointments, but the moment we do it, we're not worth their time anymore. I fear this might be the only school that lets their phones go to voicemail regularly.

It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. For the most part, she received quality care. It was the horrible care she received an acute care facility, that motivated me to pursue a career as a health care advocate for seniors. The seniors without family and friends received subpar care and treatment. I was at the facility daily and had to pull teeth to insist on her getting the bare minimum care. My employment background is mostly in transportation and finance. I cared for my mom and received a 40 hour a month salary for 24 hours a day care as an IHSS provider. I wanted to expand my resume and become a Certified Nurse Assistant as well as a Certified Home Health Care Provider. My goal is to have a few clients to assist from home to the hospital. I needed an online school that would allow me to have days free to address probate, financial and grief therapy concerns. I googled CNA schools in the Riverside county area and selected McKallen Medical. The knowledge I obtained at McKallen not only broadened my natural patient centered care instincts, it provided me with additional tools, resources and knowledge that has opened my heart and soul. I enrolled in the CNA course 4 months after my moms death. I was stuck in the bargaining stage of grief. I was being triggered by some of the lessons. It was a daily barrage of " if I could of, would of, should of" mental gymnastics. Logically, I knew that I did not have the knowledge to know what steps could have made a difference in my mothers care. However, in the midst of grief, you are filled with guilt and despair. After my first week of theory, I notified administration and told them I was struggling with the course. Tre Green, was not only understanding, he was compassionate and empathetic. He advised me to take as much time as I needed and pursue the course when I was ready to move forward. Eventually I re-started the course with Instructor Mary Montantes-Peck. She was a SUPERB INSTRUCTOR. She is passionate, knowledgeable and engaged. She is the prime example of passing on to others what she embodies as a human being. I am a firm believer that we give to the world, the skills, values and growth mindset that we have. Mary's knowledge about resident/patient care comes from a deep compassionate core. Alex Portillo, the clinical instructor, was great as well. Alex made what could have been a high stress environment into a calm, smooth and knowledgeable experience. There were a few issues with the skills lab training, so this is the reason for a 4 star review. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. I am deeply grateful and appreciative for what McKallen Medical Training provided. I would highly recommend the school to all potential enrollees. Just go in with an open heart and mind and you will reap the benefits and rewards.

Oscar was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to student success. Being in a one-on-one setting allowed for focused instruction, and he even continued to assist me after he left the school--something I truly appreciated. However, after the classroom portion ended, the experience became difficult. I completed my classes in mid-January and was told I was ready to begin my externship, but didn't receive placement or meaningful communication until mid-March. I had to follow up repeatedly just to get updates. The clinic I was placed at was also in Los Angeles, which was not convenient given the school's Ontario location. Additionally, I received several forwarding emails that I was meant to be out of, other student email responses from a licensing issues--something that should have been handled more professionally and privately. While I'm thankful for the instruction I received from Oscar, the lack of structure and follow-through on the administrative side left a bitter part to my experience and was slightly misled by some of the faulty 5 star reviews left
