East coast baby here, first time going to In-N-Out... I had been in Phoenix for about 48 hours and asked numerous people "In-N-Out, or Whataburger?" & NOT ONE PERSON said Whataburger... so my crew of about 10 visited this located with no hesitation. We were told animal style, animal style, animal style, over and over and over - so we went with the hype... and sadly, that's all it was. Hype. The burger itself was bland, the cashier - nor could any person who mentioned animal style, could really tell me what it was. I want to say final answer, it's sautéed onions with some type of condiment to top the burger with. But anyway, the fries were subpar at best (thin - I'm more of a crinkle or steak fry girl myself), and mm... yes. Needless to say, the crew and I did not return. To clarify, there was no wrong-doing of the staff at this location. They were very attentive, asking and answering any requested questions, and even went above and beyond to give one of girls in my party some unsalted fries, after purchasing the salted version. The parking here is an absolute joke. You have people trying to enter the line at all angles. It's pretty frustrating to be in line and waiting, cars deep, and then the employees let people start entering at a different spot?! Not to mention these people that the employees are letting cut in front of everyone else, are also completely blocking an incredibly busy intersection. So now not only am I pissed that I've been waiting, but now have been cut in front of, but you can't even get out of the damn place because they let people BLOCK their entrance. It's ridiculous!! I'm a snowbird so In-N-Outs are not available to me until I'm out West. I hear constantly how great they are from different personalities on TV and radio. Personally I'm not a fan, I keep trying different locations to see if it's the location but so far they all have the same flaw. They are too busy. If you use the drive thru your food will be cold by the time you pick it up. I'd say it's usually 20-25 minutes from when you place your order till you pick it up. For some reason it is barely warm and their fries are awful and cold. Cold fries suck. McDonalds still has the best fries. I've tried going in and ordering with the same results. I'm wondering if the cold ingredients put on top of the burger is what cools it so quickly? I see most reviews are high and I don't know why and someone said it was fast it certainly isn't fast. I decided to try In-N-Out Burger for the first time. I have driven by the place numerous times and the line is always around the corner! After trying it for the first time, I now understand why the line is so long. It's basically McDonald's with fresh lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes! The burgers are preformed, thin flat patties , just like McDonald's. The meat is so thin that you can barely taste it because the toppings are so much thicker. I ordered the double double with everything on it and I substituted the vanilla shake for the soda. I didn't know I was gonna get a baby Shake! I was very unimpressed. I used to live in LA and enjoyed going to INO there, the one near LAX is pretty cool. This one in Desert Ridge is nice and extremely busy-nice to see they have a lot of jobs for the younger folks entering the workforce. I got a double double and fries which were delicious and not as pricey as many burger joints. I subtract a star for lack of ambience(never liked INO decor)and rude customers(not the fault of the business and they did have a needed guard there on my 2nd visit). The obnoxious teenagers yell and scream including profanities while you eat. Nobody really wants to hear the "F" word bleated out constantly by goons while eating. This is my local In in-N-Out Burger, the food here is consistently good. The service however can be hit or miss. The staff are always friendly but the wait times in the drive thru area can be excessively long. I feel they really need more staff working at this location and the interior of this In-N-Out Burger need to be cleaned far more often. Every time I go in the tables and countertops are dirty. It certainly makes want get my burger to go every time I go in here. Overall it's a good experience but the place definitely needs more staff and a focus cleaning up the place. read more
