They customized the entire treatment to what my skin actually needed instead of doing a one-size-fits-all facial, which I really appreciated. The extractions were thorough but done so gently--I barely had any redness afterward, which is rare for me. What really stood out was how hydrated and balanced my skin felt immediately after. My pores looked more refined, my skin tone was more even, and I had that healthy, natural glow without feeling greasy or over-treated. Started with the Endermolift Groupon and then got lured in to try a Diamond Package, which included a few Organic Glo and Microdermabrasion sessions. Merla assisted with both. Thought she was funny, sweet and attentive! I actually learned a lot from her and have found ways to improve my skin care routine. I started with the Endermolift sessions and actually do see some results. I felt that there is more structure and definition to my chin and cheekbones that I didn't have before. Of course, these aren't drastic changes and took several sessions but I think it was worth it. I appreciated that Merla and staff encouraged me to try the facials. It wasn't always clear what was included and what was being used but Merla seemed to understand the root issues for skin dryness or any acne, and even did or gave something extra for me from time to time (I.e., zap a pimple and let me try the LED treatment) I felt the most results came from the Microdermabrasion sessions that really left my skin feeling smooth, but expect to put in some work to maintain it! read more

Let's just say my experience was superb. I came here from class pass and so did my mother. We were greeted immediately from the front desk lady got our temperature checked. My mom got Daniela she was so sweet and professional. I got Lori she was extremely professional explained the whole endermologie which helps with cellulite, tightens the skin, lymphatic drainage. I had purchased a deal through Bloomspot for White Tea Med Spa. The staff at White Tea were very polite and the spa itself is very tastefully decorated with beautiful tea pots and cups. Everytime I came in for an appointment, I was offered a cup of hot tea which always tasted wonderful as it warmed up my insides from the cold. Overall, I thought the laser treatments provided at White Tea were effective and executed well by a knowledgeable technician. Would I pay full price for one of their packages? Probably not, but I haven't paid full price for a package in over seven years so I doubt that will stop anytime soon. read more

I went to this place last year (yes late review I know :( ) for my birthday with a friend. I loved this place. It had a separate bathroom to get changed. The environment was pretty quiet and clean. They provided us bathrobes to change into. The massage oil that they used was lavender scented causing me to be this close | | to falling asleep. The entrance to the place looks a little shady but there is a huge flag indicating it's location so you can't miss it. They allowed my friend and I to be side by side because I have never gotten a massage before so I didn't want to be alone :(( . My masseuse was great. She asked me if I wanted a more deep tissue massage and I said yessss please and she really dug hard to make sure I got all my knots out. Being a runner I also had a mild case of shin splints and she made sure to be more gentle in those areas. Definitely come here if you want a nice relaxing massage but don't come here if you want the whole spa experience with pools and showers and soaks, etc. read more

I have to say I was so excited to relax after working in the city coming from Hawaii, especially since they use Eminescence. I was greeted graciously and was offered tea and water. Spa beautiful. My facial was anything but just a quick cleansing and a mask that was put on I was left for 15 minutes, she came in and said it was still wet, left me again. Came in, wiped it off put moisturizer on after awkward hand massage and that was it. I am a hairstylist and have facials done once a month. In the day and age of spas that somewhat resemble assembly lines it is always nice to discover a little place that is intimate and the staff seems to genuinely care about your experience. When I first entered the space I could still hear the din of traffic out on 14th st; once in the treatment area I could have been in another state. Everything is clean. White Tea Spa is very into the power of tea-a short digression-white tea apparently has more anti-oxidants than the green tea you are sucking down. I was offered tea (opted for just water) and tea is on many of their products. I had a detox body wrap-I have had wraps before and this was definitely different. Yvonne (who like Sandra who also works there has flawless not a pore in sight skin) buffed me with exfoliating gloves and then put some sort of oil all over me that had detox properties. (detoxing is one of those phrases you want to look into-if something is super lethal your liver will actually encapsulate it in a hard shell so it stays there and doesn't hurt you so some stuff you don't want to come out) Then like leftovers I was wrapped in saran wrap. Yvonne and I chatted it up-my usual preference is to be left alone and just chill out but Yvonne had to supervise the heat lamp once I was all oiled, saraned and covered in a blanket. I took a shower after the treatment and my skin was baby smooth. I was not told to drink "a lot of water" as I have after some treatments but took the initiative to help myself to a few glasses before I left. I would definitely return but would most likely opt for another treatment-perhaps a facial or massage. It is a nice space, the staff is friendly. The prices are in line with what services of this type seem to cost-as I said you do not feel like you are in a factory and there was no pressure to buy any products. (perhaps because most people do not saran warp themselves?) The spa also hosts parties-it would definitely be a nice place to have a gathering with all of your gal pals. read more

I love this place! It's low-key and cozy! It's not as busy as some other high profile spas so appointments are easy to make and you're not rushed when you're there. The prices are typical of spas. Facilities were clean and well-maintained. They give you plush bathrobes and spa slippers. The hustle and bustle of the city can still be heard in the reception area but once you reach the treatment rooms, it's so quiet and relaxing. People were friendly, warm, accommodating and professional. I booked my appointment with no problems and they were very good about accommodating my request for a female therapist. The staff offers you tea during your visit and you're welcome to help yourself to the biscuits and crackers they have available in the reception area. They also encourage you to stay in the spa and hang out for as long as you wish after your treatment, which was really sweet, I thought. They were also really nice about explaining everything and went through great lengths to make us feel comfortable. I got a candle massage. I was comfortable and thoroughly relaxed. I don't remember a part of the massage since I fell asleep and apparently was snoring. Clearly a very good sign. I was a bit wary because I went on a Groupon, and I always think places give me the stink eye when I use a Groupon. But the spa was nice and soothing, a refuge from insane 14th St., and the people at the front desk were welcoming. Not super luxe, but not intimidating either, so a good balance. My facialist Ivana was stellar. Very knowledgeable and nice, a virtuosa practitioner of the extraction arts. I'm used to thorough (and thoroughly painful) Mario Badescu, take-no-prisoners extractions, and Ivana was so gentle and non-punishing that I didn't believe her extractions would be effective. But about a week later, and my skin is still bump and blackhead-free, with tiny or invisible pores. Who knew a good extraction doesn't have to induce quiet weeping? Ivana also suggested a stem cell facial after my first choice of facial wasn't available (more on this later). Again, I'm still glowy and dewy and have that burnished look that I normally associate only with the really wealthy. Ivana was also very good about only recommending one or two services that she felt would be good for me in the future, but wasn't pushy about it and didn't try to hard-sell me on products. So the actual facial was wonderful. But, and this is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars: Word of advice for Grouponers, so as to prevent that unfortunate suspicion that you're being bait and switched. Go through their extensive selection of services then CALL beforehand to make sure that you can get what you want with your Groupon. And get the name of the person with whom you spoke. I had wanted a microdermabrasion facial, which at $160 was $10 more than my $150 Groupon. Despite the very kindly Ivana asking at the front desk, they wouldn't allow me to make up the $10 difference in price (even though the microdermabrasion was on sale for less than $150.) It turned out fine, and I loved the facial I got, but nobody likes the feeling of being--not exactly cheated or short-shrifted -- but somehow being given the run-around. read more

I went here during spa week at the recommendation of my friend, who just happens to be one of the massage therapists there. So this review is slightly biased. Especially since she gave me my massage! This was my first massage experience and I will say that it was a great one! The first lounge you get to is kinda weird. It has like two tables set up where you wait until you are called for the massage. From there I went to this back waiting area which was much more comfortable. Finally I went in for my massage with Alisha. Again, this is slightly biased since we are friends, but she did an amazing job of loosening up knots throughout my back! The only drawback is that directly above the spa is some sort of dance class. So throughout the whole massage there was a constant banging. My friend was very apologetic. It really didn't bother me too much, but I can understand how it would be pretty bad for people looking to completely zone out! read more

So since my first review, I've been here several times either through a Spa Week deal, Groupon, or deals that the spa offers sometimes on their website/emails. On my last visit, I was told this is not okay and that I can no longer get discounted facials here. For the record, I read through the details of every deal and none were limited to new customers only, so I didn't foresee that this would be an issue. No harm, no foul, but I think management should make some changes to the fine print of the deals they offer to avoid such a situation in the future. Fortunately, I've found another facial spot that is within my budget. Unfortunately, I won't be seeing the wonderful ladies who work here anymore. I would come to my appointments straight from work and be greeted by Jennifer at the front desk, who is so sweet and kind, she should really be nominated for an award for best customer service. I took a handful of clients here tonight since it's small enough to rent out for the evening but not so huge that you have to invite 20 people. We had a group of about 6 people... 5 massages and 1 mani/pedi. We brought in wine and hors d'oeuvres and were able to sit around and munch after our services. I don't think they normally do mani/pedis because it was an extremely awkward process. If possible avoid having a guest do mani/pedis here. I was set up in the middle of the room in an uncomfortable chair. They only had about 8 bottles of nail polish to choose from (which was the first bad sign, I thought). She did a nice job but the spa just isn't equipped for nail services. The whole time I was thinking how mortified I would be if a client had gotten this service instead of me. Everyone else in the group said it was one of the best massages they had ever gotten though. I would definitely go back for a massage but not nails! read more

I did a fare share of research before booking a package at this spa. I chose the Queen Tea Package which included a massage of your choice, body scrub, and facial. Upon booking my appointment I specifically requested the Hot Stone massage because Ive never had one before! I was really looking forward to it. There was a miscommunication between the reservationist and the masseuse and I never ended up getting the hot stone massage which was really disappointing. However, I was contacted by the spa manager a few weeks later after hearing about the mix up and I was offered a complementary hot stone massage! This was a pleasant surprise. While my first visit was only sub par, my second visit was lovely. I was given a cozy robe to change into, had tea before and after the treatment, and my masseuse Ivana was wonderful! I've never really taken care of my skin. Came here on a Groupon and I've bought a package after. Their prices are reasonable but more importantly their work is amazing. I only go to Shia. She does custom facials for me, and I have a skin condition so she always takes good care of me. I've seen such a huge difference in my skin. I was doing this for preventative reasons, but I am all of a sudden getting compliments on my skin for the first time ever. It took me a moment to remember where this spa was actually located, but to my surprise, realized how close it was to my old job. It's on 14th and 6th; not the Moscot corner, not the Urban Outfitters corner, and not the bank corner, but that last corner with the pizza place. It's located on an upper floor above one of those really ghetto all-or-nothing gift stores that you generally see on Canal st. The inside was pretty quaint, relaxed and reminded me of a cafe. I was surprised they weren't playing Enya. My husband and I were warmly greeted by the front-desk person and asked to fill out multiple, standard forms just to clarify any health risks that either of us had. The fact that we had to fill out multiple ones, was because of our appointment for the funnily named Major HotTEA spa package, which includes a facial, back facial, hot stone massage with deep tissue massage for $220. After sipping on some freely offered hot tea and deliciously cold water, we were greeted individually by our aestheticians, who escorted us to the waiting area in the back, which is also the path to the mini-locker room area. Warm robes and a pair of slippers awaited us, as well as our small lockers for our things. The only downside is that if you're going with another person, you'll be occupying the bathroom one at a time to get changed, since there's no changing area. With the comfortable robes on, we were warmly escorted again to our rooms, which were cozy but dim lit and welcoming. Be wary if you're tall, since the padded tables aren't too long, although I fit on mine just about perfectly (i'm 5'9). Disrobed and laying comfortable under the lightly warm blankets, It made me happy that they're smart enough to have a paper filter over their ceiling light fixtures, unlike some places I've gone too, where it feels like my eyes are about to burn inside my skull. My aesthetician was lovely and talkative when necessary without bothering me. She was a total sweetheart and definitely knew what she was doing. I wish I had opted 'high' when asked on one of the three forms of the level of pain I was able to tolerate, as well as intensity of the massage. If you're the type of person that is okay with a hard massage, then I'd recommend not checking off 'low' or 'medium.' I unfortunately gave only 3 stars, not for the service, since that was lovely, but for various things that could of been better: 1. My husband for some reason without us being aware, had two people handling his session; one that did the massage and one that did the facial. Obviously as an American, and it being customary to tip, it's not fun if you only budgeted for one person to tip. 2. Although the aesthetician kind of called this out before I did, she would of probably wanted the facial to happen first, and then the massage. I left happy, but I probably would of preferred pain first, then relax later. 3. Keep in mind that if you have a lot of work to do for your facial, such as myself, where I have a crap ton of blackheads, 45 minutes within a spa package for a facial won't 100% do you justice. 4. I don't recall getting the hot stone massage, although I'm not complaining about it. I was appreciative that more time was put into my facial, since the deep tissue massage was indeed nice, as well as the back facial. That's about all. I'd probably go again, but not in love. This is a place where you can taste Soviet-style doing business: you are informed over the phone how the service would be provided to you, and then when you go to spa - they inform you on different services and deny everything what was provided over the phone. I spoke to Inna when booking velashape session, and In-Glo spa website said "Large area, $199 per session". I asked Inna if it was correct - and she confirmed it over the phone. So when I came - the technician told me that actually "large area" only includes back of the legs, and Inna whom I spoke after session - dismissed everything she told me over the phone. When I ask how much would be the session - Inna told me "200" without ever mentioning that taxes added. I went to similar treatment to other spa and they usually inform right away if taxes are added to the rate of the session or everything is included. The spa located in terrible old building, dirty and noisy. As per In-Glo spa website Think twice before going there for treatment. read more

I actually had a very decent experience here for a Brazilian wax. I went for my first time last week and used a deal I purchased through SpaSally for $25 (the orig price is $60). It's a small place in a dingy building, but it's quiet and the spa itself appeared very clean. Maria did my waxing and she did a very thorough job and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. She asked if I needed to use the restroom before and after the waxing. She was also pretty gentle, or at least as gentle as a Brazilian could possibly be. Rather than removing everything, I asked for a small triangle up front, and not only did Maria ask very specific questions like how small I wanted it and how far down I wanted the point, she let me check to see if it was ok before she finished up. read more

After my visit, I can tell you that there is no need for me to try any others, as White Tea has more than met my expectations. My Ethhaticia , Maria, was so nice and professional. By the Inna's recomedation tried a new peeling with mangosteen extract. My skin is oily and acne prone, size of the pores make a contrast in texture of my skin, but after a new peeling my face looks much better and smoother. Very happy with the result! I loved having Samantha perform a microdermabrasion on me! I've had had two microdermabrasions here and Samantha's was the one that I could actually feel and see a difference with. She used two different masks and serums on my face because there were parts where I was breaking out and parts where I needed more moisture. I have had a lot of microdermabrasions done and hers is by far the best. My skin felt soft, smooth and looked more even for weeks afterwards. Thank you, Samantha!
