When I first came in, I had really bad razor burns and my skin was super irritated from shaving. Everyone there was so nice and made me feel really comfortable. Here's what I found after my first experience (and I have been to another Laser center): Pros: Great laser machines for ALL skin types Trendy office Prices (I purchased an AMAZING livingsocial.com deal--six sessions for $99.) Cons: So, I was appointed Gala for my underarm laser treatment. I found her to be insensitive and a bit abrasive. She seemed to dismiss whatever questions I had and was in a definite rush. It was very business like, whereas an experience such as this should leave you feeling comfortable. She didn't give me any advice or suggestions for after-care. Other places I have gone to speak to you about the procedure beforehand and give you appropriate and helpful suggestions for taking care of the treated area. From the first appointment to the last the whole staff was extremely professional. They never pressured me to buy more packages or made me feel inferior because I had a living social voucher. I have been coming to Advanced Derma Laser for over 5 years now and I've received the best results I could've imagined. I've been going to Advanced Derma laser for laser hair removal for a few years now. Their waiting room and facilities are very clean, the staff is super nice and know me by name. You can call in and get an appointment right away, and they don't keep you waiting when you get there. I have been happy with the results from the laser, though I still am going back a few times a year- , but paying $75 to not have to think about lip and chin hair for4- 5 months is worth it IMO. I have light skin with dark hair, and have had no problems, discoloration, etc. Less painful overall then waxing or electrolysis. I'd highly recommend them! read more

I really love Advanced Derma Laser, I have a really crazy schedule so I have to schedule my appointments fairly last minute. They always get me in within the next day or so! The last place I was getting Laser hair removal was Ideal Image and they where terrible. I have a package that I spent $6,000 on and they NEVER get me in...I have to schedule months in advance and it's impossible because my schedule changes so quickly. I'm very happy with the service here. I got a living social deal here last year (6 for $99). I haven't finished all of my sessions yet, but the results have been better than expected. I have virtually no underarm hair after 2 sessions in about 3 months. (I keep having to reschedule my next session because no hair is growing back!) I have fair skin and black hair. The staff is friendly, and I haven't had to wait more than 10 minutes. Maybe this is because I've scheduled my appointments early in the day. Another reviewer mentioned that they felt rushed, and I can kind of see how that could happen. However, I appreciate how quick and efficient they are. Update: I finished my 6 sessions a while ago. Still underarm hair free! Not that I ever hope to need it, but the touch up charge that they quoted was something like $35. I think that's more than reasonable. read more

Today i had my first laser treatment and the procedure was done with Natalye. The receptionist was professional and the overall environment of the facility was clean and cozy but the space is a bit small. The technician was informative and very nice and she made me feel comfortable from beginning to end. I have a second treatment scheduled for 3 weeks from now so will update you on the hair removal progress. By the way i am an African American woman with light skin and dark hair. my problematic areas are under my chin and above my lip. The hairs under my chin are course and ingrown so if the laser can remove my hair then I'm sure it can remove yours. Very skeptical due to previous reviews but I'm hopeful that i will be satisfied. I'm very disappointed today when I went there for a laser hair removal touch up. Usually when I go , I paid only $$50 plus tax but now after the Indian lady receptionist did my laser , I was surprised that she charged me $60 plus tax. I asked her why , she said that they already increased the price 15 years ago. I laughed and told her I was just there not too long ago and still paid $50. She was unmoved by her lies and still made many alibis. I don't mind paying $60 as $10 increase is not much of a big deal, but surprising me at last minute and front out lie really ticks me off. I was about to do my Botox with Dr Yagudin but wasn't feeling well after the Indian lady did to me so I cancelled the Botox injections. I hope that Indian lady could just be honest and be professional. Esp she's at the front desk- it mirrors the company reputation. She talks nicely but again, I can't trust her. I have been coming here for almost two years. I was initially told that I only need a package of six treatments. Two years later and the hair is still coming back, same as before. Customer service is terrible and they have you coming back for more touch-ups so they can make more money off of you (touchups are $100+). I've been going to advanced derma laser for a year now. Their prices are really reasonable when you compare them to other laser places and appointments are really easy to get (though for weekends I suggest booking far in advance). The place is spotless and the staff is really professional. The laser machine that they used on me (they have two different types) hurts less than other machines I've tried although this one is pretty painful in some areas too. Taking two advils before helps somewhat. I have tried three different technicians and all are good. You can ask for the same one for every time if you want though. As for the packages - they sell a package of 6 at a reasonable price and then after that they offer you a special maintenance price. read more

After doing much research on hair removal, I decided to try my luck at Advanced Derma Laser (mainly because of their enticing packages that they offer). The receptionist is rude and makes you feel like you're just another person to her. My overall experience with the actual hair removal process was good; my technician made me feel at ease for the most part. I had a brazilian done; She did leave many missed patches, however touch-ups are free. The parts that she actually did get turned out great and have me excited for what the end result will finally be (I purchased 7 treatments). They seem to be clean but it is a bit awkward that they have a doctor doing dermatology (who is not affiliated with Advanced Derma Laser) in the office right there basically. Definitely a small office but that's to be expected in NYC (although with the money they bring in I'm sure they could afford more). Again the receptionist is horrible and ignorant! Hope this helps!! Update: 3/2012 I have been going to Advanced Derma Laser for over a year now. The first 2 sessions I had one lady and then without telling me switched me to another lady (which ultimately I ended up liking so much better!). Being of Indian decent, it's quite normal for girls to be very hairy in unwanted and "embarrassing" places. In my search for a quality laser hair removal center,I found Advance Derma Laser and decided enough was enough. A little about me: I'm 23 years old with dark tan skin and dark black hair. I started getting laser hair removal about 1.5 years ago and it was the BEST decision of my life. Before my laser treatments my daily rituals involved waxing and threading areas of my neck and chin with unnatural rough, thick jet black facial hair. It was both a physical and emotion toll on myself. As soon as I started my laser appointments I started seeing a difference. With 6 sessions (6 full sessions and 6 touch ups) so a total of 12 visits. My rough embarrassing facial hair was gone! I get a few soft very fine hairs (that are completely unnoticeable) but it's nothing compared to my condition before. I love my new soft, beautiful skin. I highly recommend Indian girls and girls with dark skin types to visit this place. They have special lasers for dark skin types so you haveno worries about darkeningour burning of your skin. I've been a somewhat satisfied client of this place until my last visit about a week ago. I came in that day very concerned about my severe case of facial folliculitis. Dr.Yagudin started laughing right in my face saying that I just had cystic acne & putting me on hormone medication!! So I had to pay $150 for a 5 min consultation to get a prescription for acne medication that I didn't even need?!! What kind of health care professional are you if you can't give the right diagnose?? I was so frustrated that I had to deal with someone who just doesn't have a clue... Besides, it looks like he has bunch of unnecesssary staff people that just don't seem to do anything at all. The usual wait is about 40 min to an hour. This place is overpriced and you always feel rushed.. Looks like this guy is just looking to make a "QUICK BUCK". I have gone here now for 4 treatments. I have read the other posts, about the techs being insensitive, wait time is ridiculous, and they are unorganized. I haven't found any of this to be true. First, I get a reminder text message 2 days ahead of my appointment. I think this is great. Second, I have never waited past my appointment time. Ever. The technicians are informative. I bought the Brazilian package, and bottom line is, I don't need someone to be personable while they are "down there." The results so far have been great. I had gone to another place before, that used a different laser. Didn't see the same results, like I have seen here. I do recommend this place. I've read some weird reviews in my time but some of these take the cake. 1 - A Spa, sharing an office with or having a Cosmetic Dr. on Site who also specializes in making you beautiful is "awkward"? No. It's not like he's a ummmm, I don't know, PROCTOLOGIST or even a Psychologist! That would be a little off-putting. Can you imagine looking around the waiting area wondering what's wrong with whom? Hilarious! It's not even as though he's a GYN with his examination table in the hallway, that would definitely be awkward but a Dr. who injects fillers etc? No I do not find that to be "awkward" at all. 2 - I agree with the other posters as far as it relates to Gala and the Receptionist but as they're both gone now there is no reason not to visit this establishment. The Front Desk Staff is pleasant always, the procedures are thorough and you never feel rushed. Maybe this is what contributes to someone having to wait a little past their appointment time? I don't know about you but I don't mind waiting a little if it means that someone else can have their questions attended to and have a pleasant experience. Call me weird orrrrr maybe, just a nice person. Of course, the NYC we live in is now filled with vacuous, self-absorbed transplants from other states, small town people who were the weirdo growing up and couldn't wait to escape. We don't mind you being here but -PSA- being here does not mean that you have to be mean in order to be a "New Yorker" and acting like everything is beneath you fools no one into thinking that you really are special. Grab a seat, wait a minute, pick up People and get caught up on what Jennifer Aniston is up to this week.
