I found Laser Up on Groupon while searching for Ultrasonic Cavitation treatment. I purchased a package and called right away to schedule an appointment. The receptionist was very polite,and I was scheduled right away. When I got the the office, I felt like I was at home. The office is very chic, which I loved! The carpets, the chairs, so cute and welcoming. The owner Maritza was so nice when I walked in. She offered tea(it was freezng outside) and a seat in one of her cozy chairs. Her spunky attitude and the way she carries herself made me feel more at ease. immediately became very comfortable, and as Maritza Sat with me and talked about my treatment package, I knew was in good hands. Please note that this review is for laser hair removal only, since I have not done any other treatments at Laser Up. The laser machine they have is the kind that's like a lamp that they press against your skin (sorry, I am not familiar with the terminology of laser machine types). It gets very hot, it is inconvenient to use on a lot of areas (just try something like that on your underarms - you'll see), it cannot be pinpointed to spot-treat specific hairs, and worst of all, it is ineffective. I gave it a good try because the deal I got on Groupon for this place was so awesome, but when they made it impossible to reach anyone by phone AND their online system refused to cooperate in setting up any appointments, I just gave up and got a partial refund from Groupon. read more

I sincerely regret buying a Groupon package for this place. For starters it is absolutely difficult to get an appointment because they are always booked for weeks at a time. If they do find you an open spot it's at some odd inconvenient time. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because staff were friendly. If you are looking to purchase a multiple session cavitation package please go elsewhere. I thought in the beginning I would at least be able to get an appointment weekly and finish my package within 2 months. At the rate I'm going it's going to take several months just to do 8 visits. THE STAFF, INCLUDING MARITZA, ARE EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. i purchased a groupon for microdermabrasion treatments at laser up for my boyfriend. he went yesterday, and his experience with maritza was so awful and unprofessional (he's going to write his own review) that i contacted groupon and requested a refund. i was told by groupon, however, that i had no recourse and would have to try to work it out with maritza. i then contacted maritza, who not only agreed that the service she provided for my boyfriend was inadequate, but went so far as to instruct me to come into the office so that she could issue me a refund herself. flash forward to this morning when she sends my boyfriend a text message: "Hello Chris this is the owner of laser up Maritza I am texting you to give you a number you can call and receive your refund tel:888-582-4354" i called maritza to clarify why she suggested that we contact groupon again to get a refund when they made it abundantly clear that they would not. she assured me that she spoke with a "christine" at groupon and made arrangements that if i called, i would get a refund. i then called groupon who after looking further into the issue explained that there was no notation that maritza had even called or arranged for a refund. when i attempted to contact maritza at the telephone number that she sent her text message from, no one answered, and when i tried to contact her via the telephone number on laser up's website, my call was sent to voicemail (which strangely said "they were closed until january 3rd"). after serval other attempts to contact maritza, i was finally able to get a hold of her secretary, bessie, after using my friend's cellphone. i explained to bessie what happened when i contacted groupon, and she told me that maritza was "with a patient." (this excuse was also used the previous night) when i told her that i would wait, maritza was miraculously "on the phone with a merchant representative at groupon." when she got on the phone, maritza informed me that she could no longer refund me the money as promised and again reassured me that the "groupon representative" she was "on the phone with" named "diana" said that if i called groupon, i would get the refund. after going back-and-forth with maritza (and telling her that i'd write her a negative review on social media) she said that she didn't care about social media, she's a "professional" and i would not be getting a "cent" back and contrary to maritza's haughty declaration, i did get all of my money refunded by groupon within 5 minutes because the representative himself was horrified by our experience with maritza and her utter display of unprofessionalism. I recently purchased a Groupon package for the Microdermabrasion. I came to this location because it is the closest to my job. When I first saw Maritza, I had a good impression until she totally forgat about me while she was having soup. I was in the room literally for five mins with some facial cream on my face which was bothering me and the steam machine already stopped. I came outside, and I told her I think I'm ready. She said "sorry." She Is very unprofessional, and the only reason I'm going there is that I already purchase the Groupon. But I will not recommend this place. So I bought a Groupon for 3 microdermabrasion sessions. For first time costumers you have to pay 2 pay a fee $26for consultation(aka they basic say you need to buy more stuff). My first time was with Elisa, after I said I didn't want to buy more stuff. She started procedure that lasted 5 min. Than applied a mask and left me there for half an hour... so I paid 26 plus tip for 5 min of treatment My second time I got Nicoleta, she was very good. She is the reason why I'm writing this post. She took time exfoliating my skin. She spent 40 min taking care of my skin. Even the owner Mariza came to check why it was taking so long. I gave a good tip to Nicoleta and told I wanted her for my next appointment. Even Mariza send me a thank you email. For my last appointment I couldn't open the website. So I sent an email it was around Thanksgiving asking to have an appointment with nicoleta and asked about the times and dates. The response was that they were closed for Thankgiving... Well... I know that! Finally I was able to open the website, and booked my appointment. theWhen I got to the place. No one answered the door. I called their phone to founnd out that they moved... at least the msg gave the new address. It is 2 blocks up. When I got there. Very disappointed with this business. I saw they had an amazing deal on Groupon for a package of 3 microdermabrasion so I stupidly bought the package without checking their availability first. I called them three times trying to book an appointment, leaving messages and received no responses. I had to go online to book my appointment, but I didn't receive a confirmation email so I just went on the day and hoped they had me booked. I set a 6pm appointment (which they did receive) but once I got there I stood around and waited 20 minutes without being updated on why. I asked when I would be seen, the receptionist (who was on her cell phone the entire time) said "five minutes" without even checking. One of the other women who worked there came out of the room and in Spanish I heard them say "How long did you tell her to wait?" "I don't know, I just told her five minutes." After 15 more minutes of waiting I finally got up and told the receptionist I would re-schedule my appointment and left. The workers were rude, the location was small, and there was only one chair serving as a waiting area. I have since tried to book TWO more appointments and failed. Even online every time I chose a day it says "no appointments available at this time." I am so frustrated and angry at myself for buying a package and wasting my money that I am going to contact Groupon to get my money back. She then began to apologize for the state of the microdermabrasion machine and told me that she would have a new one soon. When I left the office I asked my boyfriend to ask for a refund so he called Maritza and she agreed that what she did was wrong and she offered us a refund. I was only able to have 1 session before she redeemed the rest of my credit for another customer without my knowledge. I got there at 9:40 and ended up waiting until 10:28a.m. Not ONE employee asked what I needed or anything, they just went on about their business, eating breakfast and cleaning up preparing for the day.
