I've been coming to SKN over the past year for my waxes, and I've always had a positive experience with Fairy and Jesse. They are very sweet, and the space is always calming and clean. I love the Toto smart toilet and the little cup of water and mint they provide after your service. SKN uses a creme wax, which is thinner that other waxes, making it a suitable choice for sensitive skin. However, I do personally prefer hard wax, which does not involve muslin strips. While Fairy and Jesse are both skilled, quick, and provide a gentle touch, I've noticed more that on more than one occasion, I've left the spa with some hair left on me. read more

So today, I decided to do something I never did before. I went and got my first facial. Now, I did not know where to start when I was looking, but I found a great place up in Hell's kitchen. I chose the gentleman's facial because I don't really know anything about facials at all, it was a very nice and soothing environment. The nice lady who did my facial had to work cut out for her, and my skin was a little sensitive because I never have done this before, but it was fantastic. Lenin might've just changed my life! This wasn't just a simple massage, and wasn't "relaxing" in the traditional sense. Lenin paid attention to my body and was able to sense areas where I was having tension and pain - some of which I forgot to mention upon intake. He went above and beyond to treat these areas, and since he's ALSO a PT, he even showed me some stretches I could do at home to keep the pain at bay. Lenin made sure I had a massage that would address my issues long term, rather than providing temporarily relief that I would ultimately not benefit from. I will absolutely be back, and will be recommending Lenin to my friends! The spa itself is also very clean and cozy with good customer service. A very overdue review but I can't gatekeeper forever. I've been going to skn spa once every few months for almost two years, and have always walked out feeling refreshed and glowing. Jessie is FANTASTIC and has magical hands. She's very knowledgeable about the e products, and will customize products to how your skin is that day. I also see her for massages, and walk out feeling like I'm walking on clouds. The spa itself is serene and clean. The bathroom has a Toto toilet with heated seats, and there is a small vanity area where you can refresh yourself after a session. She encouraged me to have the whole hour on my stomach and proceeded to grind up and down my back for the majority of the time. I had checked head, feet, arms, legs and back on the form I was given. Second time here yesterday. First time was back in 2019 and in their old space. I like this new place better. My husband and I were the first hour appointments on a Sunday morning so understanding it was a Sunday, it was a slower start but no complaints, the least you can do on a Sunday is make it less relaxing. We both got the Customized Facial which was 90 mins so I like that the aesthetician took her time to assess my skin's current state and see what I especially needed for the day. I got Yoyo and not only was she nice and fun to talk to, I felt that she was thorough and while extractions hurt like a mother, you actually want that to fully clean your skin's congestion and mine was due to the amount of flying and travels I did during the summer. I also pretty enjoy how clean the room and overall place was (and so is the bathroom especially!) and that I get to be tucked in a weighted blanket when I got a bit chilly. Lastly, I especially love Eminence products. They're not cheap and they definitely deliver glowing results. I've trusted it through the years. All these and more made us get a package.
