Because I am a woman, they tried to overcharge me. This place is a complete rip off! I took my car in just for diagnostic and this so called mechanic named edgar tried to charge me 700$ for a tune up. Yes, I said 700$. After the diagnostic, my car started acting funny. A day later, it wouldnt start at all! :-( when i called edgar he said bring it back for the 700$ tune up and gave a snicker. Like a good barber or a butcher, when looking for a mechanic it's always important to find someone you can trust. I dunno, something about this guy just says "AWESOME!!" i just needed my battery replaced, but his friendliness and honest assessment of my vehicle made me feel all warm and fuzzy. The owner is not honest. He uses a note pad from different auto shop to write his estimate. He would claim that he has replace parts but wasn't really replaced. And he would replace your valuable parts with defective used parts. Be careful!!! What's even funnier was he would ask you to help him out because he doesn't have employee. Took my car here for a quote and after half a day Edgar the owner never called me and around 4pm he says he found the issue and he was going to charge me $350 for a diagnosis. my car died, towed my car to here since it was the closest shop after reading some reviews and it turned out i had to get my starter replaced. i left my car and got the the phone call with the quote that included an OEM replacement starter part, but after i was hesitant about the total price based on my online research edgar said he could do an after-market or cheaper starter and so i accepted the offer over the phone. i went to pick up my car, paid, and went home only to start questioning my total invoice. looking back at my notes, it looked like i had paid the full price of an OEM starter after being told i got a cheaper after market model. at that point, i was just happy to have gotten my car back quickly so that i could get back on the road and return the rental car, so i didn't want to argue being overcharged or whatever the confusion was. all i had was my handwritten notes and a quote over the phone. whether it was a mistake or intentional, i don't know, but i'm hesitant about coming back. read more
