Went for an oil change, service was quick and staff members were friendly, great prices!

At first they treated me with honesty. They were honest about the work they needed to do on my car but as time went on I took my car for one thing and a day later the engine light went on, I took it in to get it fixed and they fix it and I pay for it and the same thing happened the following day so I had to pay for additional work. This happened to me about three times.and they would fix one thing and another thing magically won't be wrong with my car and every charge was higher and higher. There's one guy that is very honest that is always there in the morning, but there are two guys that are like leeches. They try to charge you for everything and sometimes it gets to a point where you just wanna get a new car instead before you go there do your research and don't trust everything they said from the get-go read more

New car but I'll always come back for auto repairs because the guys here provide great customer service. They're honest and friendly, which means a lot considering my horrible experience with Midas and other shops. Preferably come early, as they get busy throughout the day. Got there when they opened for a nail on the rear driver side tire and left less than an hour after, but service time definitely depends on what you're asking for. Thank you for taking care of the community's cars! read more

We've been taking our cars here for repairs. They're honest people who'll tell you if there's no need to fix something if it's not broken. We have Lexus cars and they've been pretty reliable in analyzing repairs at a reasonable costs. Please consider them when you need minor fixing for your cars and you'll not be disappointed. read more

A worker here today was rude to me when I had to move my car and was in a rush, and said he didn't care. I said excuse me he said I don't care?! Disrespectful behavior. Take your money some where else. read more

Yet another great repair (in this case a quick tire patch-up) over at Unique Automotive. These guys are true pros with honesty & integrity about the services they provide, that's why we keep sending them our business. Appreciate it!! read more

Make sure if you're a woman you come with a male bc they will definitely take advantage,m , 150$ for a diagnostic ... and it's a tiny little shop , talks to their workers like if their idiots , just go somewhere else , just bc I agreed to it doesn't mean it's ethical but whatever puts food on the table read more

They are always very cordial, professional, honest, the place is tidy and clean. Family and friends come to this place because of the trust in more than 13 years of maintenance on our vehicles. 1000% recommended read more

I found out I needed to have my oil changed and car smogged in order to transfer title. Had to get them both done quickly and these kind people got me in and out in 30 minutes, while achieving both goals. Super friendly, great communication. These guys are my new go-to mechanics! read more

Hugh nail in the tire and this shop is the closet to my house. Decided give it a shot not knowing what to expect. It turned out there is no wait time when I got there, the mechanic examed it and pull it in immediatel and start working on it. And able to get it done as promised within 25 mins. Staff was friendly and no hustle. Will return again for mechanical work. read more

One of the most honest places with really reasonable prices still in SF. Take it from a guy that wrenches himself. Came here without an appointment for an oil change. Will be coming back for other jobs in the future. Service manager Daniel was great, my car was lowered scion-frs and they put it up on ramps carefully to clear the lift. Highly recommended. Much better than the quick lube places read more

I've gone here a couple times for tire replacement and patching. Pretty good spot. The staff is friendly and seems pretty honest.

Full disclosure I was wary because years ago there was another type of auto place here The young man who helped was friendly honest and not the fussy sort of character I'm used to dealing with thinking only of making money. Very nice. Will be back read more

I'm a first time customer, but I'll be coming back. I was a little surprised that I didn't need to make an appointment first. I just showed up around 8:30am for a simple oil change. They were done by 10am, because I said I wasn't in any hurry. They also let me know of some not perfect things that my previous mechanic may have overlooked. read more

My "go-to" mechanic. Always honest, friendly and prompt. Been using Unique since moving into the neighborhood and have not been disappointed. read more

Well let me just say you will not find another shop like this in San Francisco. This is coming from someone who is a San Francisco native and also super picky. I've never been disappointed coming to this shop for any of my vehicle needs. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an honest and hard working shop. My shop favorites are Al and Danny, now let me just tell you about these guys if you haven't yet gotten a chance to meet them yet. Talk about going the extra mile, these boys always make it happen for me no matter what. These guys are super knowledgeable in everything they do at this shop. Wouldn't recommend any other shop in SF period. Always leaving this shop with a smile on my face. Appreciate you guys big time! read more

These guys always get the job done with reasonable prices. I got an oil change for about $65, which is excellent for the city and $30 less than the Midas 1 block away. read more

and that's why i do business with unique automotive i brought my 68' olds 4-4-2 to unique automotive. i needed brakes all around, turned out i only needed rear brakes. the front brakes only need to be cleaned up from the rust and dirt build-up around the drums. now any other shop could have claimed to have done all 4 brakes and charged me for it. i have taken my 4-4-2 in for other reasons and most of the time have gotten my car back in a short time, especially oil changes in less that 30 mins. i trust these guys that's why do done business with them for all most 15 years. Unique Automotive - A TRUSTWORTHY BUSINESS - Auto Repair Near Me - San Francisco, California

Alberto and his crew were very friendly and honest. I appreciated the clear communication and the very quick service. Thank you!

I would never return here again. This place is full of perverts. I had a young man help me out but instead of helping me out he was constantly throwing himself at me with these sexual comments. He could barely speak english and the little that he did speak was telling me that I had a very nice body and the things he'd do to me if we were alone. I told him I was married but that didn't seem to stop him. I wanted to jump in my car n leave that place. Never have I been so uncomfortable. He tried to touch my lower back when he was showing me what was wrong with my car. That place is full of perverts who try to take advantage of female customers. Never ever again will I return. Didn't tell my husband what had happened because then he would've taken actions his way. read more

Unique Automotive - Never go here to get your car "fixed" racist people - Auto Repair Near Me - San Francisco, California

Used to be an auto tech there. I can tell you from an inside perspective that there guys are honest, professionals and try to save customers money by not recommending unnecessary repairs and/or parts. They have about 100 years of combined mechanic experience among their techs. Good place to take your ride for repairs, preventive maintenance, smogs and compare quotes to different mechanic shops in the area. You won't be disappointed. read more

I feel SO grateful to have worked with Unique this weekend. We had worked with a different shop last week for a brake job which ended up getting botched. Unique was open on Saturday, so I brought the car over for a 2nd opinion. They quickly diagnosed the remaining issue, and it was completely fixed by the early afternoon. They were great at communicating the potential issues in advance and explaining what they found afterwards. Overall, it was an excellent experience, excellent service, and affordable prices. My wife and I are moving our business over to them for the future. read more

I have finally found a great garage to have my car worked on. I was very, very impressed with Alberto. He seems to know his stuff, and he hit the nail right on the head with my minor brake problem on my '99 Civic. I will most definitely take my car there for future servicing. Please, give Unique Automotive a try. THANKS!!!! read more

Took my car in on on Wednesday (6/11), with brakes that wouldn't grab at all. SCARY. Anyways, they diagnosed the problem & called me within an hour with the work & the price. It was reasonable, much less than what I would have got somewhere else. They replaced the parts & I had my car a few hours later. YAY! Also, he told me about a few other things that were wrong with my car, but didn't try to force me to fix it right away. No pressure, honest & great work. Will be coming back for future repairs(: read more

I went into unique with major problems (or so i was told from a previous mechanic). Al took my car for a day and fixed everything. The reason I am giving a five star is because these guys are professional, courteous and as a woman they made me feel very comfortable and explained every little detail to me. My friend has been going to these guys for years but because I drive a mini I always presumed i needed to go to a Mini dealer . But this is not the case at all. You find a good mechanic and he will fix any problem! thanks Al!!! read more

I found this place because of the other reviewers here, so I figured I would pay it forward. These guys are fast, honest, and fair with their prices. I know more than most about cars, and they've never told me to fix something that was not necessary, rarely try to upsell me on unnecessary upgrades or fixes. Highly recommended! read more

Hi all, I am a twice a year customer of Unique Automotive (at Mission and Ocean avenue) I bring my 1981 Datsun and my Mitsubishi for oil changes and repairs. Daniel, the manager always tries to accommodate no matter how busy and besides he knows cars inside out and is very professional. Today, was no different, except that I had broken my elbow recently and couldn't put air into tires on my own! So I stopped by Unique Automotive on my way to work and explained to Daniel my state of (temporary) disability and that I needed their help to pump air on my tires! He said no problem, immediately called one of his workers and voila tires with air again and I could go on my merry way. To all the guys who work there, this means a lot! Support this business y'all they are amazing, super helpful and honest!! read more

Cool guys there had to replace my alternator on my Lexus brought it in and they took care of it for me ,quick and easy and cheaper then most other mechanic shops definitely coming back read more

Left a phone message about getting an appointment for a Brake Check..and if necessary for Unique to replace. Per a neighbor they are good, however I never received a reply from my Phone Message sent approximately September 9 or 10th, 2019. Have made an appointment elsewhere.. Rob read more

Poor service, over priced cheap parts, long wait and the list could keep going. My brakes were squeaking as soon as I left the mechanic shop. They used O'rally brake pads and charge me three times more then O'rally for the parts. I recommend finding another auto shop that values your business and use more Quality parts. read more

The crew at Unique Automotive took awesome care of me and my wife after we experienced a flat tire on highway 280. We arrived there Saturday afternoon on our spare tire and they were able to confirm our old tire had been damaged and then mounted and balanced a new tire quickly and at a very reasonable price. We really appreciated the fact that they squeezed us in while they were working on other cars. Based on our experience, I highly recommend this shop because they seem to be focused on creating satisfied customers! I feel very grateful to have found them! read more

The staff at Unique automotive were very professional and patient with me when I repeatedly brought my car back for a tire low on air. I had a new car and the dashboard light went on telling me that my tire pressure was low. I took it in to Unique auto and they repaired it. After I got home the light went on again, I tested it with my tire pressure gauge and it said it was still low. I took it back they checked it and said it was fine and my gauge was not reliable, they reset the dashboard light. The next day the light went on again. I went back and had them check the other front tire, they took it off and checked it off telling me their was no leak. I then had them show me the reading for each of my tires from their tire pressure gauge. The tire pressure was at the manufacture's specifications. It turns out that when there is any adjustment to the tires the dashboard light is inclined to go on. They were so patient and helpful. Prior to this visit I had used them for years to do minor maintenance on my car. They always did a good job at a reasonable price. Once my new car is out of warrant, I will be back. read more

These guys know cars, and customer service. When I recently had a smog check elsewhere, I was told I had to replace a hose in order to pass and Unique automotive did it along with another repair for under $200! This is the ONLY mechanic I will trust from now on. Thanks guys. read more

Previously all I've had done here was an oil change. I was very impressed that they spent so much time looking at my auto, in search of a drip I was having. They must have spent an hour to thoroughly look things over using several different methods and I was so appreciative of the time they devoted. They didn't even charge anything for all of that time they spent, and they thoroughly explained what I should look for, and the potential causes. I strongly recommend them for all your auto repairs. They are very diligent and take the time to really do a great job. They are all very pleasant and professional. I've been to several different mechanics in San Francisco and Unique Automotive has really impressed me. read more

It is difficult to find a mechanic who you can trust to provide a quality service for a fair price and this is exactly how I would describe my experience at Unique Automotive. I am really happy to have found this garage. Ask for Alberto... He is a knowledgable mechanic who provides great customer service. I had a serious issue with my wheel. I heard a loud crack while driving over a pothole. Later, I realized that my wheel was bowing out. It was no bueno!! I took my car to the garage where Alberto inspected it. He suspected that the mounting that the struts from my wheel bolt into had snapped. I agreed to replace all of it. Alberto had my car back to me promptly. He showed me that he was right and we inspected the snapped mounting and shredded strut. My car has been driving great since. read more

Best service. Best prices. Quality work! Won't regret coming here! I recommend this place to everyone I know.

They did a complicated job (hub assembly replacement) quickly and correctly. They even came in below their estimate. It's hard to find a good mechanic, but I think I've found mine. I'll be back next time my car needs work. read more

I had a terrible experience here. The staff and management were extremely inflexible and downright rude. They seemed to go out of their way to be difficult. I ended up getting them to leave my car on the street so I could have it towed elsewhere to get fixed. read more
