Every time that we taken our vehicles there they are very polite. Satisfied with their service . Never had any issues with them.

I've been coming to Claudio's for 16 years now. This wonderful family has kept me and my vehicle safely on the road. You won't find a more kind, honest person than Renzo! Through brake replacements, transmission checks, a blown out radiator, a rear differential issue - they have taken great care of me through it all. You won't find a better mechanic. I recommend him to everyone I know! If your car needs anything at all, this is absolutely the place to go. read more

I take both my vehicles in for servicing, when ever I have had an unforeseen problem they have squeezed me in, always informing me of my options. read more

Fantastic. Renzo is a great dude that runs this shop, and his family has been running it for years. YEARS. They have a BankAmericard logo out front, which was the first credit card in the 1960's. Do not expect a cheap mechanic, but expect a great mechanic that will explain everything to you. 0% bullshit. They do modern cars no problem. He has gotten me free repairs from the dealer on my 10yo car because he knew what was up. I am so sad that I'm leaving San Francisco, but this guy has my business forever. read more

They repaired my door and didn't have too.I feel badly for my response to the cost.Sorry.

Very unfortunate, got a nail few blocks away and need a tire patch. Mail in the middle of the tire which is repairable. I been driving for many years and I went to many different auto shop/ tire shop. I know the price range and this place OVERCHARGED. $50 for pull one nail out and simply just patch it. job done in 15 mins. I always support local business but DONT try to be a greedy businessman. Charge people in a fair way please. read more

Claudio's Auto Repair - Flat tire nailed few blocks away. - Auto Repair Near Me - San Francisco, California

I highly recommend Claudio's Auto Repair. I had heard good things about Claudio's on Next Door and stopped by to make an appointment for a repair. Unexpectedly Renzo came out and completed the repair within minutes and also checked a few other things that were in need of attention. I am so happy to have found such a trustworthy, thorough and able mechanic. I will never bring our car anywhere else. read more

I love Claudio's! I'm sure they don't really need my review because if you've gone there before, you know what I'm talking about.I especially appreciate Renzo. He's courteous, respectful & doesn't treat me like a dumb female who probably doesn't know anything about auto's.The farthest thing from the truth since I grew up with 5 Motörhead brothers.Ive replaced motors on 2 Volkswagen buses & one 1960's F-100's,so I know auto's.So if your female,go to Claudio's.They might not be the cheapest, which isn't always a good thing, but rest assured your going to get honest reliable service & their not going to take advantage of the fact that your female. read more

Whether it's the first oil change on your new car, or a tuneup for your classic '68, this is the place!

Now that Claudio has passed on, his son Renzo is running the shop. I'm almost 50 years of driving and owning cars this is only one of two trustworthy and fair mechanics I have run across. My alternator went out over the holidays and Renzo went out of his way to fit me in for repairs. His price beat every other competitors price, the work was well done and he checked everything else out for me. I really appreciate him and he's now our mechanic going forward! read more

I was recommended to check out Claudio's by my family member and am very happy with the service provided by the shop. I took in my neglected commuter to be taken care of and Renzo went above and beyond with the customer service provided. My car has never felt so great, will definitely be returning with my other cars in the future. read more

No matter how far and wide you may search, you will never find anyone like Renzo at Claudio's. My take is that he is the son of Claudio and took over his dad's business. Renzo is the epitome of honesty and genuine care. I don't think his hardwiring would allow him to cheat or deceive. That said, Claudio's is the last of the old-fashioned auto repair shop operating honestly because of him. You will not find another shop like this and I hesitate to post this review as I risk his business becoming more popular and harder to get an appointment. Anyway what a great find. read more

Going through all of the businesses I've been to now that I can write Yelp reviews. Claudios is great. Lorenzo (Renzo?) is a fantastic mechanic. I've been bringing my car there and only there for years. My dad has been bringing the same car for almost a decade. The place is slightly pricier than others, but I think it's worth it because they don't upsell you on services you don't need. Renzo has been super upfront about the work that needs to be done on my car and when it should be fixed. He just saw my car last week before a road trip and told me "X should be fixed but you don't gotta worry about that now." The honesty is why I pay a little extra for his work. He keeps my car clean when he's working and puts down plastic seat covers and such so nothing gets dirty. Very respectful to the car and the customer. Will absolutely always be my #1 auto shop. read more

I have been bringing my cars to Renzo for over 11 years. Over that period of time I mostly lived in SF but I have moved to San Jose and now Oakland and he is still the only mechanic I trust. He is honest, reliable, meticulous and fair. It truly feels like he cares for my vehicles as if they were his own. This is not just a mechanic shop he communicates with his clients on a human level. He's compassionate, relatable and real. No matter where I move to in the Bay, I will always keep bringing my cars back here. Thank you for running such an empathetic and kind business. read more

Contacted the Altas towing service and asked them to bring me to Claudio's auto repair, the male worker told me they are kind of busy, and unable to accept new service or change my tire. Therefore, I went to good year instead. read more

Claudio is a miracle worker. He keeps my 40 year-old Mercedes running like a top. (No, I didn't buy it new!) Claudio and his crew (which includes his son) do excellent work. Courteous and respectful in an old-world way, Claudio keeps his customers fully informed. Even when the news is bad, I know I can depend on him to help me make the right decision--and with an old car like mine, there can be tough decisions. The shop is tidy and well-organized--the floors shinier than in many restaurants. The car is always ready exactly on time and the bill is fully itemized, handwritten in Claudio's fine, engineer-like print. I drive away feeling like the car has been blessed. read more

The team at Claudio's is always efficient, honest, and helpful. Our car is getting older, so we have ended up going more often than I would like for various completely unrelated issues. Whether it is replacing a light, fixing tires, repairing a belt, or fixing the internal seat adjustment buttons. The team at Claudios is able to get the job done quickly and well. read more

Amazing! The best local mechanic you need to know and meet!!!! We used them for our older vehicle and they came in on point! Only drawback is we had to wait 4 days to drop of vehicle because they were booked solid, but hey, that is a testament to their great work! read more

Great family owned business. Transparent and affordable. Everything you want in a neighborhood mechanic.

Hey, I found my mechanic forever. I have an Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce 2000, 1978. I have been looking for one that knows the car, that is honest and professional. Don Claudio, Renzo and the whole crew are awesome. They knew what to do, they repaired great and they offer guarantee for their work. If you have a need for a great mechanic in San Francisco, this is it! I recommend it 100%. read more

To the person who put one star (Ki C.) - You are obviously a butt-hole and a dumb ass. I am a regular customer, not a friend or family. And this is not "an email," it's a review. Claudio's has earned my trust over the years and continue to do so, including this week when they looked over a used car I was about to buy without any notice - despite being overbooked - and doing so without charging me a dime. I am guessing that *you* are not a customer, and have never been one. I am guessing that *you* are associated with a competitor who is on the brink of failure because of incompetence, and all your friends are going to Claudio's (as they should). I'm also guessing English is not your first language. That's AOK, but I would suggest that if you are going to defame someone in public, that you should at least have someone review your language to make sure you don't sound like a dumb ass. Unless you actually are a dumb ass, which of course you obviously are. You don't cite a single instance of poor service. No matter how you respond to this, I'm fairly certain you've never even stepped foot into Claudio's. Defaming a good, established, hard-working, honest business without hands-on "proof" is, shall we say, less than honorable. So please wither up and slither away. read more

18 reviews of Claudio's - 17 people who are customers give it 5 stars, 1 person, who claims he/she's NOT A CUSTOMER (but he/she fixes cars) gives it a 1 star. Who's right here? And then he/she goes on to call all of our reviews bogus because we must be friends and family. REALLY??? He/she whines about exhaust fumes, in a city of 790,000 people, where almost every person has a car. Anyone who walks on any sidewalk in this city breathes in exhaust fumes. Seriously, the whiner needs to get a life! On a side note, it's bogus reviews like this ding-bats that does damage to the integrity of yelp. If you're going to review a business, at least be a customer of it first! BOTTOM LINE - CLAUDIO AND RENZO ARE BY FAR THE BEST AND MOST TRUSTWORTHY MECHANICS IN SAN FRANCISCO! Period - the end! read more

The first time I've ever felt like I've gotten more than I paid for from a mechanic. Limped my 98 Camry off 280 to the first place I could find following catastrophic engine failure, thank God I happened to land at Claudio's. Claudio and Renzo worked around my work and travel schedule for the week, explained everything in great detail via email, and had the Old Girl in the best shape she's been in for ten years. They fixed an oil leak (most likely responsible for the failure) that two other mechanics had said would be impossible and wasn't worth touching, fixed the engine, and topped and tuned everything up. Can't say enough good things about this business. read more

We got stranded with a flashing check-engine-light in San Francisco. Randomly picked Claudio's Auto Repair from yelped garages near us and could not have lucked out more. The owner (?) Renzo took us in, even though he was short on staff, thoroughly checked the car, gave us an estimate and had the problem fixed by the evening. Not without calling twice during the day to let us know how it went. Seriously, if he was my mechanic in LA I wouldn't tell anybody for fear that he'd become too popular. An honest, nice, meticulous mechanic? Beam him up, please. read more

Claudio and his son Renzo have been taking care of me for the past 10 years+ and over the years I have only taken my cars to this shop. So far they've worked on my Mercedes Benz , Monte Carlo, and my even my Honda although they specialize in European motors. They do great work and most importantly are honest with their estimates. Their place is spick and span, you could eat off the floor. Never once did I have to question them. I highly recommend them!! read more

I have a '66 Mustang that I stored in my basement and neglected for years. I finally decided to get it up and running again, but was leery about taking it to just any repair shop because of the fear of being taken advantage of. After reading the Yelp Reviews for Claudio's Auto Repair, I decide to take a chance on them. BEST DECISION I MADE THIS YEAR! Renzo was AMAZING. He gave me a very detailed description of the work that needed to be done and why. He explained what needed to be done right away, and what could wait. He broke down the cost in terms of the actual repairs, so I could decide which repairs I wanted to go forward with. The prices were so reasonable, I questioned how much would it be with the labor added. I was STUNNED when Renzo told me that the prices he quoted INCLUDED the labor!!!! He did a FANTASTIC job with the repairs! After I got the car back I realized the CD (yes CD, lol) player wasn't working. Apparently a CD was stuck in it and because it sat for years without being used, I couldn't get it out. I asked Renzo if that was something he could do if I brought the car back and he said he could try. I received a call a couple of days later letting me know that he did have success with getting the CD out and the radio was working again! When I asked him how much it would be for the job, he told me, "Don't worry about it". WHAT? Do you mean to tell me that there are actually Mechanics in this world that would do work for NO CHARGE!!!! Unbelievable! I can't say enough positive things about Renzo and my experience with Claudio's Auto Repair. I strongly advise you to go to Claudio's if you every need any car repair. I doubt if you would be able to find better prices and customer service. read more

Amazing! Renzo is awesome. He is speedy with repairs, gives you an update prior to making his repairs (allows you to make the approval). My father is a former diesel mechanic so I've been in a grease monkey's garage and RENZO has the cleanest shop I've ever been too. He also presents himself well with great customer service and a smile. I moved to SF back in October and had an immediate need for a mechanic. Growing up with my father, I was always taught to not trust every mechanic but to really shop around. Meeting Renzo, seeing his shop, and getting updates completely gained my trust. My partner (a SFer) now takes his cars to Renzo. World Class Service! Martin read more

Honest and fair priced. Renzo takes great care of our old cars in a timely manner! Recommend them highly!

We've been taking our car to Claudio's since 2005 and they have always been great. A family business, Claudio and his son Renzo are polite to a point, efficient, accurate, and a pleasure to work with. I just dropped my car off this morning and Renzo knows my and my wife's full names, remembers the work they did on this car 9 months ago, etc. When we were pretty sure that something was wrong with the coolant system, they checked it out and couldn't find anything--and didn't charge us anything. Many places would charge you $120 to run the same check. The only con that I can think of would be that because it's a smaller business in the Excelsior district, the drop-off and pick-up window can be tight. As long as we have a car in San Francisco, we'll be taking it to Claudio's. read more

I think this is how businesses serviced customers "back in the day". Claudio and Renzo actually care about their customers. Come on, how often can you say that about a company? They have proven to be honest, efficient, and the customer service is exceptional. Thank you Claudio and Renzo for your help through the years and for continuously taking that "extra step" to provide excellent service. read more

Claudio's was recommended to my by a friend in the neighborhood, and I think they are just great. They are very thorough, fair-priced and responsible. I had a bad part from them (axle bearing thingie) which they replaced right away free of charge. When I was having some major work done, they found and fixed some minor problems that I hadn't even mentioned. If it was in my bill I didn't notice - it seemed very reasonable to me considering the work. The staff is wonderful - very polite and careful (a previous review says "in an old-world way" with which I agree). Usually it's been the son helping me, and I have no idea how he stays so clean considering how much he gets done. Even the handwriting on my bill is meticulous and easy to read - that's a first! I'm torn between praising them because they deserve it - and saying nothing so I might get less competition for attention! I do wish they were opened on Saturdays, and it was easier to get reservations for a tune-up... read more

Claudio and Renzo, Claudio's son, are super professional, honest and considerate. I've never seen any mechanics like them. They treat my car like theirs. Unlike other auto repair shops, their shop is very organized. The pricing is more than reasonable! More importantly, they are very knowledgeable and don't charge you for parts that don't need to be replaced. I just bought a car today! They spent an hour checking everywhere and replaced several light bulbs. The bill I got was super reasonable! I will definitely ask them to take care of my car from now on! Thank you so much! read more

I was searching on yelp for auto shop to fix my sons car. I read all the great reviews and everyone was right! I was so stressed out because most places rip you off and try to get over on you! Renzo was very nice and professional. He made me feel at ease because I was really stressing about how much money this was going to cost me. My sons car runs great now and I am so very happy! I will continue to come here in the future if I ever need my car or my sons car worked on again! read more

I came in to get a couple issues with my car sorted out and boy am I glad I chose to come here. There are many auto repair shops all over the city and you never know which ones are legit and which ones will try to hoax you for your money. Renzo and Claudio at Claudio's Auto Repair are honest and genuine mechanics running a clean shop with great auto service. The moment I met Renzo I could tell he was a genuinely polite and honest guy with an eye for detailed auto care. They fixed my wheel bearing problem, my fog light that had come out of its housing, found a nail in my tire and patched it up, and also cleaned off some corrosion building up on my battery. I'll be coming back here for any future auto services I may need. This is an auto shop you can trust! P.S. Try to make an appointment in advance. read more

Was nervous to go to an auto-repair shop for the first time, but found great service at Claudio's! Worked with a man named Renzo who was incredibly kind and patient, and seemed very honest. Happy I chose them to have my repairs done :) read more

Polite. Honest. Fair. What more could you ask for in your local mechanic? Oh. Prompt, too. 6 stars.

Long overdue review...I found Renzo and Claudio through yelp and and grateful for them. They've taken care of my Honda with the upmost honest and good quality work than one could ask for. Their pricing is fair compared to other places. I've gone to them for general maintenance to full on A/C repair and they've never let me down. read more
