2000 Nissan Frontier VG33. Had clutch replaced Sept 2023. Charged $1966. Requested a full LUK clutch set and was never given an itemized receipt as requested. Clutch failed catastrophically at around 24,000 miles with the damper spring breaking off. Now facing a $1,350 repair bill. Found out they used a set I did not ask for. The PHT in the photo below refers to PowerTorque sold at O'Reilly's. Did not even throw in OEM as that's the standard protocol. SHOP PERFORMED UNPROFESSIONALLY. Am actually leaving a review for work that they did NOT do. I had a car that died while driving and when given the choice of nearby garages to send it to by my insurance roadside assist, I did a quick yelp search and I found this garage as a place to send the tow truck. And was extremely lucky that I did. I generally am pretty skeptical of folks in the auto repair industry, so to come across someone like David was really refreshing. I called him to let him know my issue and he said he would look at the car when he got in. The next day he gave me the bad news - engine seized and would need to be replaced. Instead of giving me a hard sell to get the work done, he was very straightforward in giving me my options, some market data and giving me information about the likely value of the car in different scenarios. I fact checked what he told me by going online and calling around and it all was legitimate. No pressure, no false promises. Just clear and responsive communication. In my situation, the result was that the repair was worth more than the car itself, and so I decided to donate the car and he was very understanding even though it meant less work for his shop. That kind of honest business dealing seems less and less common these days. They fixed my spark plugs and cabin air filter, put on a part on the bumper, gave me brand new tires and breaks, at such an affordable and reasonable price. I visited this shop a couple months back and the young owner mis-diagnosed my car's oil leak, claiming it was the oil pan. It took two visits to argue with him that the leak was still present, then he realized he had made a mistake and rather than correct it he claimed he could no longer work on my vehicle because of his lack of availability (claiming he went to school). I took my car to the dealer thereafter and they resolved it instantly - the oil pump gasket needed replacement and voilá - no more leak. I spent about $800 at this shop with zero satisfaction. I'm sure he can change oil and filters without a problem but the young owner is inexperienced and doesn't know detailed automotives! read more

He was able to accommodate my availability and get me in within the next couple of days. I love Mr. Hani! He's truly been good to my family's cars! He takes good care of us.... I called on a Sat early afternoon inquiring about changing all the fan belts in the car....he said-sure come on in! I went, and he got my car in there right away....his staff even went to the Toyota dealership to personally pick up the part that was needed. I was just impressed that I was able to get in on the same day no more than 1.5 hours later. Thanks Mr. Hani! He's such a nice man! Maybe 1.5 years ago, my engine blew....totally my fault bc I stalled on getting the oil changed (when there was a leak) and the car was no more than 4 years old....he brought it back to life in no time when my dad took it to him. I was especially careful after that whole ordeal bc I didn't want it to happy again. There was still a short bit of a leak after that but we took it again to him in no time...and he fixed it. If you are anywhere around SF International Airport and need assistance with your vehicle, Express Auto Repair is the place to go.  Everything is aligned here: Knowledge, courtesy, friendly people, clean, and very important: an absolute fair approach when it comes to charges. Hani and Andy really knows what it takes to make sure every first-timer customer continue to comeback.  I leave in the East Bay and found this shop by accident, and now its my go-to place if I need anything done in any of my 2 cars (Mazda 5 and Lincoln Navigator, they are specialists on all brands). The last encounter Hani recommended, that we change the harmonic balancer, for about $1000. Since I was a little short of money, I decided to do it myself, with a help of a friend. It wasn't to hard, about 2 hours of work. But the surprise was that both, new and old parts looked identical. No sign of wear on the old one. I saved some money by DIY, but could save even more if I didn't do it at all. By the way, the noise was coming from low power steering pump. Good mechanic would check that. I went here last week to get a diagnosis on my car since my car was not running very good. We took it to hanni to get an diagnostic initially to find out the issue of the car we explained the symptoms of the car the jerking when starting the car and shifting in to reverse and going forward. We wanted to get a diagnostic. He told us that he was 99.9% sure what the problem was and said my car was having those symptoms because we needed a tune up I DID NOT MIND PAYING FOR THE diagnostic which was supposed to be $195 and I was ready to pay when coming in but since he said he was 99.9% sure was because i needed a tune uip we just did the repair since he was confident with the problem was. The below comment is false!! we explain the jerking of the car when reversing and going forward when starting the car and he said the he was 99.9% sure it was because we needed a tune up we decided to do the tune up NOT because I didn't want to pay but because he said he was sure what the problem was. I wanted to pay but since he said he was 99.9% sure the problem was we didn't and he offered tune up and oil change for a total of $390 initially I thought it was pricey but didn't mind because I knew that I'll be getting my car fixed. Since the owner had so much confidence of that was the issue we went ahead paid for service of tune up and oil change. After the repair I took the car home the next day my car was still jerking and having the same issues and explained to the owner we originally wanted a diagnostic and we paid for the tune up because he told us he was 99.9% what the problem was.. He said he cant undo the labor and pay us back so to to bring it back in and he would test drive it which initially I don't think he did. then he was telling me that my car needed a tune up anyways and I explained we were trying to find the MAJOR issue of the car and tune up was not the focus even if i needed it. Then he went on to say use sarcasm and said to me that he isn't God and since he isn't God he can't know what the problem was but tells me before he was 99.9% sure what the issue was. And I had higher expectations since he is a mechanic and should be expert in his field. After leaving my car with them The first day I left my car they were telling me car was running perfectly, and they didn't see anything wrong. I asked if they can try it out in the morning again, amd leave it another night and they called me the next day to say they finally experienced the symptoms I was telling them and said it was because my cars air sensor they called me back said cleaned out the part I had and told me that's what the problem was and they did it free of charge which I really appreciated. I went back home and tested my car again and left happy but they failed to fix the issue my car was still doing the same thing when I left. I appreciate them trying to fix it but I am dissaponted because I thought highly he knew what he was doing, but doesn't seem like it. I just took my losses and moved on. Will not be going back and I don't reccomend him. Also when having friend look under my hood since we are STILL trying to find the issue i noticed that he put blue colored wire in my engine and wasn't consistent with the rest. If you are reading this please do yourself a huge favor and look else where. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because they tried but I don't think they genuinely cared about fixing the issue and took their time.
