My car was in need of an oil change. I happen to drive by this Jiffy Lube and it was empty. I pulled in and was immediately welcomed. The good: the service was quick and the staff were very nice. They explained everything and recommended additional services. That's where they got me! My $45 oil change turned into $165! Now I agreed to the services so it's on me. I was being lazy and should just do certain things myself. For example, I got charged $20 for a third brake light bulb. I later checked O'Reilly and its a $10 bulb. I also agreed to a new cabin air filter...$65! I checked O'Reilly and its $25. If I wanted the expensive K&N brand, it was $50. UGH! All in all the experience was good. DIY to save money OR if you don't have the time or ability, let Jiffy Lube do it but you're gonna pay! read more

Went in for an oil change a few months back because I didn't have time to ask a family member to do it. Told them I wanted full synthetic. Paid a premium full price for it too even though I had multiple coupons that "weren't valid". Found out months later by a family member that my oil levels are low, they only filled half, the oil they used was super black, not full synthetic. They did not offer to change my coolant or steering fluid even after I asked. Also they tighten your valve so hard you would never be able to change your own oil at home. You'd be forced to go back to a shop to get your oil change. Never ever coming back here again and highly DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone else to come here either. read more

Went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change and was told my coolant was low and that I needed to buy more immediately. They suggested I go to O'Reilly Auto Parts. When I got there, the staff checked my coolant level and told me it was completely fine and did not need any added coolant at all. That honestly made me question whether I could trust the recommendations I was given in the first place. This place likes to scam people out of their hard earn money. My husband went for an oil change and the service techs showed him a dirty cabin filter which he declined to change. He normally changes this on his own. Lo and behold when he changed the air cabin filter the next day the cabin filter was white and not even the same dirty level as the one they showed him at the shop. This is the oldest scam in the book. Please do not try and rip people off and do not use a dirty cabin air filter to make more money off of people! I had been putting off getting my oil changed because it cost so much at the Acura dealership. Since it's a new car, I generally like to have it serviced by the dealer. That said, I realized last week that it's no longer under warranty, so I didn't need to take it to the dealer. So, I took it where I used to take my old truck for oil changes after it went out of warranty. Little has changed. When I pulled up, I was met by Salvador. He was detailed, thorough and very professional. Everything he told me or explained to me was well polished and practiced. That said, it didn't feel disingenuous. When he walked me through checking my indicators, he was very clear and concise. But, he was also very polished. It's clear he does it a lot AND practices. The next employee that worked with me was Meily and she was every bit as professional and polite as Salvador. With each item she went through with me, she was really good at the presentation and word choice. Even when she told me they couldn't change my air filter (they didn't have one in stock), she did it professionally. She even offered for them to order one and have me come back for a quick installation. Lastly, the whole team worked in tandem to service my car in what appeared to be a choreographed performance. It's a garage, so to speak, so I know it wasn't. But, it sure looked like it was. In all, it took 20 minutes to get my oil changed...so, yeah...it was a Jiffy Lube!!! The employee I dealt with was a fast-talking hustler who didn't give a damn about my car--she only cared about UPSELLING me on every useless service she could think of. Like an idiot, I reluctantly gave in on having them replace my windshield wipers only because I knew I was going to be swamped with work for the next month. THE ABSOLUTE DISRESPECT: The Theft: They had the audacity to rip off my original factory wiper blade arms and toss them in the garbage like they were trash. The Garbage Product: They replaced my high-end wiper blade arms with $70 worth of cheap, plasticky, bottom-tier junk that looks like they'll snap off in a light breeze. The Confrontation: I had to literally force her to dig through the trash to get my factory blades back. The Scam: When I demanded a refund for the flimsy rubber they forced on me, she hid behind their so-called "policy" to keep my money because the lame work had already been done. JIFFY LUBE HAS ZERO INTEGRITY This isn't a "misunderstanding"--it's a calculated scam. I'm going on my experience a week ago. Drove in for a simple oil change, but boy! Ended up with all kinds of things that needed to be done. My poor little Camry 2002, with over 300k miles) seemed to need everything. My brakes were done, the oil pan needed to be replaced, I can't even remember what else needed to be repaired. Walked out shell shocked in payment. But, I will say...it was an all female crew and they were AWESOME! The care they took with my car, the step by step explanation and showing me everything as they needed to repair was great. I had a feeling my poor baby needed help, but boy it still hurts financially. These ladies have all gone through the Skyline/CSM automotive program. I'm all for it too! After only 4000 miles, the car started making funny sounds and completely burned through the oil they put in. Usually this car goes 6000 miles when I go to my other mechanic. When I had the oil changed, they discovered the filter they put in was way too small and didn't even fit! This time, I was prepared and brought my own filter/oil only to learn that the cost would be the same as if they provided the materials ($57.78) . Slightly annoying but I accepted it. So I swung by in the morning with my 65 Plymouth. I was greeted promptly right away a friendly young lady. She told me they had time but there was a possibility they did not have the oil filter for my vehicle, so I suggested I go pick it up at O'Reilly's and be right back. As soon as I came back I drove straight into the oil change bay. There's a great group of people working here, that enjoyed their job and are courteous and friendly. I had a great conversation with them about our classic cars and things we were going to do to them. They had me in and out while I waited. They totally get 5 s. I would definitely had to give them five stars, but unfortunately I kind of feel I over paid. I brought my own oil filter, received a discount since I did, but my total was still $90. They keep saying that the manager is not here and will return in 30 to 40 minutes. He's on his lunch break. And that there is nothing that they can do until he returns. One gentleman had to pay in cash. Not sure if they're locked out of the computer system or what. As my car just sits there on the rack 30 minutes with nothing being done. I used to go here for all my oil changes, but after 2 bad situations, I don't come here anymore. One time., I came for an oil change, was on the freeway on my way to Sonoma and here something flapping under my car. Well after pulling over, I see that they didn't screw my undershield back on. So went back, no apology just oops. The other time, they recommended a brake flush which I paid for. Not too long after I had to bring my vehicle in to my mechanic and he recommended that I get a brake flush. I told him how I had it done and he said there's no way it was done. One of the women who worked there took my key and directed me to the waiting room. Another woman went over the oil change options. I think I waited about 30 minutes, and my car was done. They did inspections on fluids, wiper blades, lights, etc. All of my windows were cleaned. The price was reasonable, and I got an additional discount. Everyone was polite and respectful. I came in last week to have my oil changed & was initially satisfied with the work done. What I just learned is due to accepting the jiffy lube representative's recommendation to rotate my tires, I come to find out that the tire lug nuts were placed incorrectly after the tire rotation & I now have to pay out of pocket for the repairs. Also, the passenger side of my tires were low on air while the driver side was filled up. This is completely irresponsible by the staff - I had believed that they were giving smart recommendations to keep my car in check, but it turns out that they ended up damaging my car instead. read more

It's been about a week since I took my car into the shop for an oil change. So far my car hasn't died yet so I'm guessing they did a fine job. They have coupons on their website for oil changes so check back frequently for deals! I was able to get $10 off at the counter for this. They do try to up sell you services at the counter like tire rotation, filter changes etc so just make sure you know what you're getting into. I am a bit lazy when it comes to car maintenance so I did it to get it over with but I think it might be comparable or cheaper if you do it yourself or take it to a dealer. I do like that they clean your exterior windows and wipers as part of the oil change service amongst other things. My wipers were really dirty before! read more

I don't normally go out of my way to write poor reviews but I had a terrible experience recently with their service. The oil change that I came in for was fine, the issue I had was with their upselling of their other service. Was told I needed to change an air filter which I reluctantly agreed to. After service was done and I paid, I drove off. The car started to feel a little off and then my hybrid engine light popped up. I called and explained to them what happened and they told me to come back so they can check it out. After it was inspected by the female technician who oversees the cars before letting off, she told me my car battery was about to die and that I should have it towed. I told her I had no issues driving and just wanted an oil change. She kept insisting my car had issues and that I should get it fixed by a mechanic. Dumbfounded I decided to drive to a random mechanic. Upon inspection they told me that after my filter was replaced, they did not close a cap after the new filter was installed. The fix only took 3 minutes and the mechanic even made light about how poorly jiffy lube put things back as it was installed. To sum it up, I wouldn't have any issues if they just only gave me an oil change. Also not being helpful and telling me I had car issues provoking my anxiety. I'm sorry never again....... read more

I would never start a review like this, but DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE!!!! I came here 2 months ago and had my oil changed. 3 days after I had it changed, I noticed oil all over the street in front of my house where I had previously parked my car. I immediately took my car to the closest oil change shop and they informed me that jiffy lube had not tightened the oil filter when they changed my oil. The shop rechanged my oil and filter and cleaned up the oil that had spilled all over the bottom of the car. The shop then noted on my bill what they had done and that jiffy lube had not tightened the filter. I then called jiffy lube San Bruno and alerted Chris the manager to what had happened and he asked me to send the documentation. I sent all the documentation and all I asked for back was a refund. I was told that I would be contacted by the district manager and it would only take ten days to receive my refund. 2 months later I still have not received a refund. I called again today to inquire about my refund, and Chris told me he could not help me and I was supposed to be contacted by his district manager. Still have not been contacted!!!! read more

I read a lot of bad reviews but it's super close to my house so I go there. I have not had a bad experience yet. Sometimes it takes longer than I want it to so I bring a book to read instead of staring at my blackberry, they often want to provide services that only my mechanic performs on my car, but I just say "thanks for the heads up, I will make an appointment with my guy." The guys are super cool, the place is clean, they have coffee if you want to drink some coffee and the price is not too bad. It's over 30 bucks, but I just don't have the nerve, even though I think about it, to bring my car to the 76 station for a 19.95 oil change. It's just not my style. read more

I've been coming for years. The staff changes from time to time, but their usually really nice and helpful. The normal wait time is 20 mins. Not bad at all considering you didn't an appointment in advance. The dealership service center take about an hour and a half and you had to schedule in advance. This Jiffy Lube offers for returning customer a $10.00 discount car that can be used on every visit. My oil changes are $32.00. Great deal. Give this place a try. They also remind you of manufactory schedule maintainances just in case you want the service done there instead of the dealership. read more

This is basically a monetary review: First - their estimate says that the oil only for a transmission is $110 for a Subaru. However, If you buy the oil at Burlingame Subaru dealer, it costs around $40 dollars. Stating that a labor is only $27 makes you believe that the price they charge is because of the part$ (oil in this case) they need to buy from a supplier. I don't want to judge but it seems to me that leads one to think that: it's worth to pay someone else to do the job for you once the labor is cheap, or that is cheaper there than what a mechanic would charge; or that the discount you perhaps got is already a lot. Buying the oil for $40 (which they might perhaps buy even cheaper than the average person) actually, brings the price of labor to $99.99 dollars based on their price for a transmission oil change - $139.99. Is it possible that they pay $70 dollars more than I at Subaru for the same oil? I'm pretty sure they won't charge me $27.99 if I bring my own oil which then cost me a total of $68 instead of a whopping $140 dollars. read more
