On April 26th, 2026 -- My family and I are currently waiting in the lobby for our car to be done. We requested for an alignment service. Me being an observant person (yes I'm still using my phone going on social media and watching videos and what not) I'm also listening and being aware of what's going on around me. I listen and noticed that the African American Man (wearing all black) short hair with cornrow braids on his head is very rude the way he talks to his employees. He is the opening manager named Darrence. I absolutely do not like the way he treats his employees. He yells at them and gives them attitude which is unacceptable and definitely looks very uncomfortable place to work at. He must be coached on the way he speaks to his employees. I understand that the employees make minor mistakes, but there's no need to talk to them the way that Darrence did. Victor (older Asian male) helped us out and was wonderful. He had excellent customer service and it was very knowledgeable. He was quick on his feet and provided outstanding customer service. We do appreciate Victor for all he does. Went to get oil change and free brake inspection on april 30th shop in millbrae.only to wait more than hour. Ok bad but,woke up in morning today may 1st land saw a half quart oil underneath my car..never experience that before with any repair shop. I will never use them again. I didn't know Firestone and Wheel Works were the same company so I got to use my Wheel Works credit card AND the LIFETIME wheel alignment, so I got 2 birds with one stone done. Thanks yall! I called ahead and scheduled an appointment to have my transmission fluid replaced at 3:30 PM. Following the advice I was given to arrive early, I checked in at 2:50 PM. I was provided with an estimated wait time of two hours, so I left to run errands and returned at 4:20 PM. When I asked the desk employee for a progress update on my truck, I was brushed off, which I found quite rude. After waiting another 15 minutes, I noticed that my truck had not been touched. At that point, I decided to ask for my keys back as I could not wait any longer. I then discovered that my keys had been misplaced. It turns out the technician assigned to my vehicle at 3:05 PM decided to work on another truck and completely forgot about mine, along with my keys. This experience was highly unprofessional and a significant waste of my time. I hope you will take the necessary steps to ensure this does not happen to other customers in the future. read more

Ok,in addition to my review on 4/10, I forgot to recognize the service mgr. who I believe is Darrius. My apologies if I misspelled,but had to go back to ask a question. He came out & answered my question "with a smile!" I dont like to judge ppl if they dont,but it's always great when I go into any establishment for service or just to ask a question,& the person doesnt have of give me an attitude. As a woman going into a business such as for a car,often gets either very little acknowledgement of a freaking attitude. Came in for an oil change and a lifetime alignment service. When my car was done, I looked at my outside car handle/ hood /steering wheel and gear shifter, it had the technician's greasy hand prints on it. Typically after your car gets maintenance work, the tech would reset it on your dash. It was not the case during this visit. Most of my visits to Firestone has been nothing but disappointments. If I didn't commit to a lifetime alignment package I would not come back. They need to retrain their techs to have more integrity in their work and be more professional. read more

My wife's Tahoe blew a tire earlier this week and these folks installed her last set...so, naturally, we took it there to have them replace it. We bought the insurance, so a portion of it was covered. While most of the tire company insurance pro-rates the coverage based on wear, this company is a bit extreme in how they evaluate wear. What I mean is that there was very limited coverage because they claimed it was more worn than it really was. Fair enough and if you know that is how they manage the business, you can make the choice to take the insurance or not. Based on our experience, it's NOT worth it at Firestone. When I had a tire replaced by America's Tire, for my truck, a few years back, they covered the entire cost of the new tire even though it was 50% worn. The people, however, were very nice and helpful. Yes, these are the same people who decided on the insurance coverage, but they were very nice. Before she went, I called and spoke with Dennis. He was incredibly helpful and nice when we spoke over the phone. Anyway, with the exception of the insurance, we've had great experiences with them and we like their services. Used a free brake inspection coupon and they told me I only had 1-2mm left on both my front and rear brakes. I then went to my friend who showed me that I had 6mm in the rear and 5mm in the front brake pads. I cannot believe they lied to get me to do a brake service. read more

I was thrilled to find a place that would diagnose my car for such a great price. However, the noise I reported was very specific and was clearly coming from my strut. I informed the service agent that I believed the issue was related to the struts. After waiting an hour and a half, the agent reported a slew of problems. When I explained that the noise was one specific, consistent sound and that three different parts could not all be responsible for it, they were unable to explain which part was actually compromised. I took the car in somewhere else and they changed my struts for a fraction of the price I was quoted at Firestone and reported the 2 additional parts were not compromised. I understand cars a little better than some expect and it felt like I was being taken advantage of at Firestone. read more

So I asked, and he wants to charge me about a hundred bucks to change the oil on a 26 year old Honda. Don't go to this place. I went for flat tire and they tagged my tire as "not Repairable" so I agree for my 4 tires to be changed. They hold my car form 11:00 am to 5:30 pm which is ridiculous, saying that they didn't have all 4 tires so I lost my entire work day because if it. Then after taking my car home I heard a grinding sound everytime I hit the brakes. So I took it the next day so they could fix it but for my surprise they told me that my car needed rotor and Brake change which also is ridiculous because my brakes, my rotos and back drums were changed around 3 months ago by another shop. All they want is money, making up ridiculous diagnosis. Never coming back again. GO TO THE SHOP NEXT TO IT " AMERICANS TIRE" AND AVOID HEADACHES AND WASTE OF TIME. Oh! Been taking our vehicles to Firestone for oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections for many years (since long before they moved to Millbrae from SM). On March 21, I dropped off my car for a 9 am appt., and walked the 1 1/2 miles to Peninsula Hospital. Hung out there for 2 hours, and walked back to Firestone. At 11:53 I was told that my car was not done and that it would be another 30 minutes. The service for my car was completed at 12:38! 3 1/2 hours. They did take off $20 from the total, which I was happy with until I discovered the rest of the mess. That wasn't the worst of it; when I got into my car the ENGINE light was on. Technician cleared the code, and I was on my way. Driving home I could smell of oil was coming through my vents. After getting home, I looked under my car and can see a torn/broken engine shield covered in oil and dripping onto the street, in addition to oil splatters on the wheel wells. This was a simple oil change & tire rotation and it's become a MESS! read more

Oftentimes, complaints are related to people not knowing how to maintain their vehicles, and then having to do major repairs for negligence. AVOID THIS FIRESTONE LOCATION IN MILLBRAE, CA AT ALL COSTS!! I say this primarily due to one particular employee, specifically the older, heavy-set, disheveled obnoxious Asian male behind the counter. When I asked him what he meant, he just repeated himself. I then posed a slightly different question, asking if he meant I had to come back at 5pm for my pre-scheduled 3pm appointment or what. He finally clarified: He expected me to drop my car off then [at 3pm] and it would be ready for pick-up "around 5-6pm." That is crazy considering a tire rotation takes 30 minutes max., not 2-3 hours! He didn't even give me the courtesy of looking at me while he was talking, he just talked at me and treated me in a completely condescending manner. I have been to this Firestone several times over many years for the same service without any appointment problems, EXCEPT for one previous occasion a while back which involved the exact same guy coughing up the exact same crap! Enough! This guy is so objectionable and offensive. He could care less about failing to accommodate customers' appointments, has no sense of etiquette with regard to interacting with the public, and is completely disrespectful and impolite to customers. He didn't attempt any sort of apology for his/their incompetence and wasting my time driving from San Francisco down there for nothing. Don't you waste your time either. Hassle free service, genuinely friendly interactions with staff, and consistently pleasant experiences at Millbrae Firestone. For these basic customer service points, we return and trust our family vehicles in the hands of only this location without the price gouging and shady practices common in auto repair/service. I come regularly as per maintenance recommendation which always includes oil change, rotation, and alignment at every service. The latter two services are free bc we purchase tires (and insurance) which includes free rotation, as well as lifetime alignment (for the same cost as a ONE TIME alignment at the dealer). Issue with our vehicle but not at the fault of Firestone: despite regular maintenance, alignment still pulls which the dealer confirmed is a known issue with this make and model (dealer suggests control arm replacement to fix the camber issue). So now new tires exhibit uneven wear. Melinda and Jeffrey took excellent care of my service needs to rectify the issue, with no labor cost, and a warranty replacement thanks to them for submitting a tire warranty claim in my behalf. After all this, even with limited staff and fully booked for appointments, our car was still ready within 2 hours of drop off. read more

My family has always gone to the Firestone for car repairs and I figured why not give them I try. Started going to this location around the start of this year and I have not been disappointed. Appointments are easy to arrange and service is prompt and efficient. I have gotten tires replaced, tuneup, and oil change here and the service was timely. The wait is not long and if their are other recommended services needed they make sure to provide that information on your invoice at the end. The ability to effectively communicate and not sell you on added services is a huge plus for me. The customer service here for me is great. In having been to other places for car repairs, the service here is far better than some smaller places. Of course price is always a topic of discussion but I felt that the prices for most services here are reasonable. read more

I am an appointment for an oil/filter change the day prior. Their online system was very easy to navigate and I am glad they had available times. I arrived about 10 minutes prior to my appointment. I was able to apply the $10 off full synthetic oil change coupon I saw on there website. The total ended up being a little over $95. The full synthetic oil change took about 45 minutes (with the free courtesy check). You have the option of staying there and waiting or they could call you when your car ready to go. I decided to go downtown to run some errands so I opted for the call if necessary. I ended up getting back with about 5 minutes until the expected 45 minute time and my car was ready to go. No complaints on the oil change, it was completed in a timely manner. In regards to the courtesy check, I honestly cannot really read the handwriting of what the person wrote. There was something about the tires possibly being cracked for the rear tires and something was "broken" in the notes section, but there wasn't any explanation about this when I got my keys back. It would be helpful if they would explain what they found so that people would be more likely to want to fix the issues. There was one printed paper that came with recommendations- ie to do a brake fluid exchange and alignment service but it had nothing to do with what was "broken" in the written courtesy check. Considering it's Firestone where they have a "complete auto care" motto. I may need to go back to a smaller auto shop where it's more personalized so they can explain to me what I need to fix instead of having issues later down the line. read more

This firestone changed my baby mothers oil and they had issues with it leaking after the oil change so they had to pull it back in and fix the leak. I normally service her car my self but this time I was too busy and she needed it right away so she went to this firestone. She called me while this was happening and the kid was frantic not understanding why it was leaking. The kid working there said it was coming from the oil filter area. I said to the young kid "take the filter off and check for a doubled up O-ring" as this is common with rookie lube techs. It happens to all of us ONCE. The technician sounded very young, and I get it, people make mistakes. However, what you DO NOT do, is put the customers old oil filter back on and you certainly don't put a filter on that is deformed or dented from being removed with oil filter pliers that are only meant for removal. It appears that they removed her oil filter with oil filter pliers, not the strap that doesn't damage the filter, which would be fine if it were being thrown away. But when they couldn't get their oil filter to seal up they removed it and pout her old oil filter back on. Honestly it doesn't even look like they changed the oil, but this could be from re-using a very old filter that is clogged and no longer able to flow properly so it is being bypassed and not used for filtration. That is what happens when you run an oil filter for too long and it stops flowing properly due to clogged filter media. I am a mechanic on the peninsula and this is unacceptable to do to paying customers and especially women that know nothing about cars. This is exactly what gives customers distrust in honest mechanics like myself. Tisk Tisk rookie lube tech, Carma will get you. If your engine fails, just remember those oil filters you didn't replace. I hope this shop keeps record of who does what oil changes. Someone needs a good talking to, and possibly a new career. Next time if you make a mistake, own up to it and pull another filter out of inventory. Customers do mark filters and check if it was the same filter that was previously installed, its only a matter of time before you get caught. After reading some of the reviews, it looks like this may be a common occurrence with vehicles leaking after getting a basic oil change. It happened to Mary L. also. This is an updated to the review that I wrote on April. Absolutely worthless and as of May 18th, no refund has been issued. I can NOT get ahold of the Corporate person, Robert Gee. According to the store Manager, Andrew, Robert Gee is the person that I need to talk with about getting my refund. I have tried calling, no answer. I've left a few voice-mails, with absolutely no response. He claimed he sent me an email (I never got that or any other email). I have tried to email Robert at the email that is on his voice-mail...I sent an email to 3 different addresses. All of these emails have been returned "undeliverable" (I SIMPLY CAN NOT MAKE OUT WHAT EMAIL ADDRESS HE IS GIVING) Absolutely horrible and dishonest customer service. Remember, I'm going through this BS because an employee at this Firestone in Millbrae, CA broke the tire pressure sensor on my 2019 Lexus. While my significant other was driving, her car started to lurch and chug, as if the transmission were in the wrong gear. Suspecting a new problem, she immediately proceeded to Firestone. She asked them to diagnose the lurching and chugging. At that time, she informed the service writer of a known problem, either the catalytic converter or an oxygen sensor is bad and the Check Engine Light is on because of that fault code (P0420). They charged her $228 and gave her a Service Recommendation, showing the fault P0420 code we were already aware of, but did not provide a diagnosis, isolating the problem between the catalytic converter or either of the two oxygen sensors. They did not write a story of their diagnosed findings. They didn't determine anything about the lurch and chug. They did not conduct a test to determine if the P0420 code was because of which sensor, or the catalytic converter itself. They literally took $228 from her and told her the same thing we hed already determined. When I called them and asked for more details on the over priced diagnosis, they wouldn't provide more information and then they got combative with me. They won't tell us which component of the catalyst system is bad. read more

My only place I come for alignment and I been coming here for the last 5 alignment and they always did great work still do. but my rim is damaged when I got my car back I didn't complain I don't want to go through the whole process of (bring back let's take a look at it.) it should of never happen if you see my vehicle you would understand to take my cautious of the vehicle. I made an appointment by phone and showed up a few minutes early and within 45 minutes I was out of there. The mechanic readjusted and set up my truck back to better than factory. Went in for a flat tire repair because I heard they do it for free here and was told my tire was too damaged so it needed to be replaced (almost $300 for one tire). The next day that brand new tire popped at the seam while I was driving on the freeway, which I later found out cracked my rim. I took my car back the next morning for them to replace the same tire and they called me later to tell me the rim was cracked and needed to be replaced before they can do anything ($450 for one rim). The new rim is delivered and I bring it back to this location and they put it on with a new tire just fine, however when I open my trunk a couple days later I see that they left the cracked rim and popped tire in my trunk even though they charged me for tire recycling. I felt like I was being punk'd every time something new happened. read more

Their online appointment system is the worst. First it asks for your zip code so that it can locate the closet facility. Then it has a calendar which allegedly shows available dates and times. You pick a date and time, but it's not automatically an appointment. Someone...somewhere has to confirm it at some point. 9 times out of 10 your chosen appointment time isn't available even though the website shows it is. At least I got a call from someone saying my choice appointment time wasn't available and to disregard any emails I get saying I'm confirmed. I'm not sure why the system doesn't remove the date/time if it's not available. read more

Here's the problem. I paid for the lifetime alignment and balancing package. This is the third time they did not do the balancing. I had to remind them after the fact. It's quite frustrating that I should have to do this. Make sure you let the guys upfront know to remind the technicians to do the proper work requested. read more

Don't let these folks scam you. If you go there, you will just waste your time and money. I booked an appointment for 11 am. for brakes and vehicle inspection. They did the complete inspection and charged $50. After 3 hours of waiting, I asked if they had found anything. They wanted to do a lot of unnecessary maintenance that would cost about $2k. They also suggested I bring it to the dealership to do more things they don't do. The front brakes were my main concern, and it would cost about $900. I asked him how long they said 3 more hours. I left and took it to a gas station a couple of weeks later, and it only cost $170. For the 3 hours I was there, they raised the car up, removed the right sided wheels, and it sat there for a couple of hours. I did not see them do anything else, but when I asked, they said they did the full complete inspection. They must be 20 feet tall to check the hood when the vehicle was raised up. read more

Beware-Do not bring your vehicle to this shop if you don't want Firestone tires. I had Michelin tires, needed two replaced and they absolutely never advised of the different tires they were installing. Not professional. They later offered Michelin but I would have to eat the cost of unwanted tires. In addition they arbitrarily added 35 for hazardous roadside assistance for each tire. I now have to go back in for a 70 refund. read more
