I don't even know where to begin. I trusted Pit Stop Auto Service with my vehicle and what followed was one of the most frustrating and frightening experiences of my life. After picking up my car, it stalled twice within 10 hours. The first time was getting off Highway 101 at the Octavia exit. The second time was at Arguello and California Street, where there were pedestrians crossing and I had absolutely no control of my car. My life and the lives of others were put at risk. The same problem that was supposedly fixed months ago came back immediately. When I asked for the diagnostic codes from both visits, they were never provided. Communication throughout this entire process was okay, they were helpful and responsive, however the second repair for the infold manitake, I had to fight for the warranty to cover the labor for the second repair. To top it all off, I received a parking ticket while my car was in their care because it was not moved for street cleaning. I filed a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. I landed at SFO, drove out of the parking garage and noticed my left tire was flat. I googled the nearest gas station to fill up my tire but could find one close enough without fearing damage to my rim. I pulled off of the freeway and immediately to my right, I saw Pit Stop. I pulled in and they checked my tire, lifted my vehicle and did a thorough inspection of if I immediately needed a new tire or if they could repair it to safely drive home. After about 30 min of checking the tire for any obvious damage and filling it with air, my car was lowered and I received the bill. I was definitely expecting at least $150 for the work. The bill was $20. I really was surprised and felt like they took good care of me and made sure I would at least get home safely. Thanks! read more

These guys park customer's cars on super narrow streets, block traffic and give everyone attitude all day every day. I'd be worried about damage as I see them park cusomter cars blocking driveways etc. Also, fairly sure they are dumping cars and parts under the bridge down the road. Well, they just made me wait like 3 hours to change the oil. They don't care about make you lose your time. Then when my car was ready, I couldn't find where they parked my car, then I customer today me they parked my car on a hotel in the corner, and I should go there take it. As well as submitted a claim below, I want to say that Nicolas is trying to solve part of my disagreements. I was totally upset with part of their job and treatment. Nicolas called me and he tried to fix our discrepancies in a gentle and calm way. We are still working to solve the small hole in my hood. He also was very concern to make me feel more comfortable, being more agreeable because the first time I perceived a comment no welcome. 12/29/2020 They changed the engine in my car and overlooked repairing the tension pulley that works with the motor. The car made a terrible noise and I had to take it back, I had to pay again for the labor, which is fine, what is not right is that they charged highly saying that they had changed the entire engine and everything that it had to do with the engine, leaving it in top condition. Not only that, my car left a small hole in the front lid and they left a piece of wood inside where the engine is that could have fallen while driving and have done irreparable damage to any part of the bottom where they left it pressed. When I took my car back, they just grabbed the piece of wood and put it away, and Nicolas, with an insolence attitude, alleged that they didn't make a hole in the top of my car because they don't have such carelessness. According to him, I am ungrateful because I complain after they gave me a "discount..." the deal was paying the whole cost in cash for them. That is the amazing discount, according to Nicolas that is a discount and for which I should not complain. Finally, Mr. Nicolas emphasized that how come I asked many questions and how come I did not realize the little hole.. That comment made me feel uncomfortable as a women. This place doesn't have any reviews yet, but it deserves 5 stars easily because the service is excellent. It's a family-owned local repair shop that is honest (these are hard to come by!). There is a waiting area stocked with free coffee, lightning fast wifi, comfy couches, and filtered water. Initially, I received quotes from Firestone, Goodyear, California Auto Center, and two Ford dealerships; you know someone is taking you to the cleaners when they get offended right away as soon as you bring up price. Those other jokers did not return my phone calls multiple times and could not even get me the "specialty" tire for my boring Ford SUV rental car in under 3-5 business days. Firestone even promised that they would order the tire for me, and then when I called in the next day, it turns out they somehow forgot to even order it. Lo and behold, I stumble upon this repair shop while driving through town and decide to give it a shot. The receptionist Aurora was extremely on-point, she managed to get me the cheapest tires with just a single-day turnaround. She was effortlessly juggling three customers at once and even though she was multi-tasking and taking phone calls, she gave us all straight-forward, quick, hyper-efficient, yet still very personalized service -- much like a high-end New York City restaurant. And she was speaking three languages fluently! The damage came in over $100 less than anybody else, and the amount of time spent here was a fraction of the time I wasted chasing down the others on the phone. I could also track the status of the repair in real-time from my mobile phone using their online web app, ShopMonkey -- unlike the other shops with their dinosaur-era IBM terminals. I couldn't believe it! This shop is run by top-notch individuals, and given that they don't have any reviews yet, I can assure you that these hardworking locals deserve your business. Please stop parking your junker cars and damaged vehicles on 5th Avenue. Everybody on the 600-700 block knows it's you guys. Why don't you purchase a lot or at least park it down the road by the hill near no one's house. The worst part is you guys don't move the cars for over 5 days and take parking from actual residents. We had just flown back from Japan (4/20/22). We were very tired after a 9+ hour flight. Retrieved our car at SFO long term parking. Guess what? We were greeted by a flat tire that was caused by a large bolt right in the middle of the tread. Thank goodness repairable. Went to a Union 76 station close by, they said they were too busy. They said " try across the street " Pit Stop "". I drove across the street and they took my car in immediately, repaired the tire and adjusted the pressure in the remaining 3 tires. Went in for an oil change but they didn't replace the filter so I asked to see the old filter and they had to raise the car up to change it since it was never replaced. They ended up charging me an additional 12 dollars for the "additional oil" they had to use. Seemed a little sketchy but overall the service was good I suppose. read more

The garage has took care of every car I've owned and of my friends and family for years now they do professional work on anything they always step that extra mile and make sure everything is working properly. The staff are very communicative and any job you need done with your car will be done efficiently. The waiting room is also beautiful with a bunch of Brazilian snacks/food so waiting for even a couple hours tends to still give you that feeling of being home. I stopped here to simply change my headlights. For my infinity g35 you need to take off the bumper to change the bulbs. The pictures are what I was left with, they changed one light when I had brought 2 bulbs. They changed the left light only, driving that same day my left turn signal was not working anymore. The next day on the freeway I had to stop on the side of the road from hearing like i was running something over, and my plastic bumper lining was stuck in the tire, I noticed there was no bolts on it, I go to check the other side where they changed the light and the plastic lining was not even on the other side, I later open my hood to find 2-3 bolts holding my entire bumper on. My headlight was popping out, and couldve came out on the freeway, my whole bumper couldve fell off. I was in complete shock how they left it and the man had told me to come back 2 days from when I went so he could help me with an electrical problem I had, I understand they have liability after they touch a car, but this is completely wrong. If I had no bolts or they broke them, at least let me know that and I happily wouldve went got some bolts to keep it in place. But more damage was done to the car than I could expect. They couldve said anything to let me know that there was no bolts on the bumper or the lining? Or Put bolts that I wouldve paid for? A huge accident couldve happened if the bumper had came off. I decided not to return to them for liability because it feels like a joke to let somebody drive off like this, mechanics should actually care about the simple things and this is a great example of researching places before you go, or just go to someone you trust to change a bulb! after waiting a long time for changing a sensor that supposedly was burned the radio stopped working when I returned they fixed it but it lasted 1 day I returned again for an oil change and repair the radio and they claimed that the responsible was not there, in the last attempted a third time the guy said the problem was with the radio and he didn't fix it!
