Shortly after the service, my car began leaking oil significantly. Within days, the engine started producing smoke. I had the vehicle inspected by another mechanic, who found that an INCORRECT oil filter had been installed. This improper installation led to oil loss and further engine damage. Prior to this service, I did not have any visible oil leaks (no oil on the ground, no smoke). When I contacted the shop, they denied responsibility and only referred to a "pre-existing leak," without addressing the incorrect oil filter installation at all. They also stopped responding after I provided this information. I have since filed a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) and am providing documentation and evidence. I recommend being very cautious when considering this shop. THEY ALSO mixed up my service records with a completely different vehicle I owned in the past, which raised concerns about their accuracy!

He normally changes this on his own. Lo and behold when he changed the air cabin filter the next day the cabin filter was white and not even the same dirty level as the one they showed him at the shop. This is the oldest scam in the book. Please do not try and rip people off and do not use a dirty cabin air filter to make more money off of people! That said, I realized last week that it's no longer under warranty, so I didn't need to take it to the dealer. So, I took it where I used to take my old truck for oil changes after it went out of warranty. Little has changed. When I pulled up, I was met by Salvador. He was detailed, thorough and very professional. Everything he told me or explained to me was well polished and practiced. That said, it didn't feel disingenuous. When he walked me through checking my indicators, he was very clear and concise. But, he was also very polished. It's clear he does it a lot AND practices. The next employee that worked with me was Meily and she was every bit as professional and polite as Salvador. With each item she went through with me, she was really good at the presentation and word choice. Even when she told me they couldn't change my air filter (they didn't have one in stock), she did it professionally. She even offered for them to order one and have me come back for a quick installation. Lastly, the whole team worked in tandem to service my car in what appeared to be a choreographed performance. It's a garage, so to speak, so I know it wasn't. But, it sure looked like it was. In all, it took 20 minutes to get my oil changed...so, yeah...it was a Jiffy Lube!!! Now that my Acura is out of warranty, I will use these folks going forward for my service upkeep needs. You should check them out as well!!!

They recommended Lou's Auto Repair. Let me tell you I'm beyond grateful for their recommendation. I found Lou to be every bit the man they described him to be. Honesty, reliable & trustworthy!! Lou took a look at the headlight issue, quoted me a price, and went to work. I found his work to be above and beyond what was expected. He even took care of a little loose fender issue for me without even being asked to do so. It's the little attention to details sometimes that tips the scale from an average experience turn into a fantastic one!! I previously went to another auto repair who listed several issues (engine oil, brake belt, leaking water coolant, replace filters, tires, etc). I definitely needed serious repairs done. The previous shop quoted me $3k including labor. I asked around and was recommended Lou's. I called 730am and he called me back 15 mins later and welcomed me to bring the car by for a free inspection. He said the previous shop was correct in their assessment. I did need all those repairs but a couple could wait until my next oil change or in 5000 miles. He also said I could go to Costco to get my tires done (a place that referred business elsewhere def means he's looking out for customers!!). He quoted me $1696 including labor!!! I was shocked and grateful for his honest quote. I was able to leave the car and pick it up at the end of the day. They also test drove it on the streets and freeway to make sure everything was solid. I cannot rave enough about Lou's. I trust him and his crew 1000%. He made a life customer.

Me being an observant person (yes I'm still using my phone going on social media and watching videos and what not) I'm also listening and being aware of what's going on around me. I listen and noticed that the African American Man (wearing all black) short hair with cornrow braids on his head is very rude the way he talks to his employees. He is the opening manager named Darrence. I absolutely do not like the way he treats his employees. He yells at them and gives them attitude which is unacceptable and definitely looks very uncomfortable place to work at. He must be coached on the way he speaks to his employees. I understand that the employees make minor mistakes, but there's no need to talk to them the way that Darrence did. Victor (older Asian male) helped us out and was wonderful. He had excellent customer service and it was very knowledgeable. He was quick on his feet and provided outstanding customer service. We do appreciate Victor for all he does. Thank you for your hard work, attentiveness, kindness, and knowledge Victor, you deserve a raise.

    Went here for a check engine light. They said low oil due to a leak and had to replace my timing…read morecover. When I took it back my oil was leaking more than before. Found a pool of oil in my driveway the very next morning when I had never had one before. Told them the leak was right below the timing belt cover work, but they went and changed the oil filter gasket on the other side of the engine. Then they tried to charge me for the work since to them they fixed something unrelated to the leak. Why the hell are they fixing other things I have no idea. Brought the car back home and it was still leaking oil in the same exact spot. So I brought the car back again and told them it's still leaking. This time they told me I need to change my oil pan gasket. At this point I didn't trust their diagnosis. When I went to pick up the car they told me they put silicone around the oil pan as a temporary fix. I took the car to another shop to get a second opinion. The other shop found the leak was due to improper timing cover replacement. I took the car back to D & J with the diagnosis from the other shop and they refused to acknowledge it. Then they claimed they already changed the oil pan gasket and that I was confused. They never told me or got my approval to do that work. To top it all off they parked my car on the street and it got ticketed. I've been trying to find a decent shop in the area and it looks like I will have to keep searching. This one was horrible.
