Took my car in for some work and Tim was great! He fixed my car quickly and was very trustworthy and kind. You can trust that they will be honest and fair the shop was also very clean and they provided a great beverage selection while you wait. I will be taking my car to them for all repairs read more

I would like to give a shout out to both Tim and Chris for giving me the best customer service. I was so scared when a light turned on in my dashboard and a noise coming from breaks. Both gentleman were so knowledgeable about my car warranty, how to diagnose the problem, and get it fixed with honest reasonable rates. And to my surprise, I was offered a loaner car to get to work because my car would be ready by the end of day! I felt taken care of 100%. I highly recommend this shop! read more

Miguel met me at the door and provided excellent service until I left. This place has my business.

Absolutely fantastic service! Very patient team! Tim and Chris are the absolute best and took the time to walk through very important details with me to fix my vehicle. Great and timely service! read more

Avoid! After taking both of my VW's to Import Auto, as well as my sister's Audi Allroad, on a hand full of occasions I was never satisfied with the workmanship provided. I would bring my vehicles in and ask them to check a specific problem, when I would call back a few days later to check the status they would sound confused, as if they had no idea what I was talking about. The final straw came this week when I brought a VW truck I had just purchased in for a full inspection and tune-up. Not only did they NOT perform the full inspection I had paid for, but they left one of the plug wires carelessly dangling away from the sparkplug. The next day the truck died on me while driving due to a worn out alternator. If they had performed the full system check (which includes a check of the charging system) I could have avoided being stranded and having to call a tow truck. After bringing these problems up to the owner Imad, he became defensive and confrontational. Instead of simply apologizing for the mistake of leaving the plug wire unattached, he instead turned on me asking "you've never made a mistake?" Wrong attitude in my opinion. I'm not saying the customer is always right, but when you mess up, you better own it and apologize or you just end up looking like a prick. I've never been so disappointed with a repair shop in my life. Save yourself the hassle and avoid these guys. read more

These guys are outstanding! Prompt service, friendly and knowledgeable. You don't feel like you are being taken advantage of and although my family is military and can get a fairly good discount, I prefer to come here. read more

I had a great experience with Import Auto Service when my car battery needed replacing. I had a warning while trying to start my car after work and drove straight to the Walmart in Santee but they were so busy they didn't acknowledge me. The next morning after getting my car jump started I again drove over to Walmart and again they were unable to help me. I called Import Auto and asked if they had the battery and could help me. They did have the battery so I drove over there and was done within 15 minutes, on my way to work. With service like this, I will return. read more

Chris and Tim fixed my mini for one third of the price that the Mini dealership quoted me! Their customer service is wonderful too. They let me borrow a car from their lot while my they fixed my Mini for no charge. I would most highly recommend this auto repair service shop to anyone who needs import service. Don't take your car to the dealership when these guys will do it for a fraction of the price. read more

Super nice staff, very helpful. Brought my '93 Jeep here when it didn't pass smog, Chris told me exactly what needed to be fixed and gave me a good price on it. 100% recommend read more

Probably one of my best experiences with a mechanic shop. The team was very professional from the start and I never felt pressure into getting things done on my car. I'm very happy with the results and I highly recommend them. I will definitely be taking my cars back to them. read more

Super efficient, friendly staff, I've been going to this place for many years and actually switched back to them because they were better and more fairly priced than the service department at my dealership I had to use when I was out of state for a while. I always recommend this shop to everyone I know, it is a great small business that focuses on quality and I can't support it enough. read more

I have an 08 Toyota Corolla that was driving very loud and making a ticking sound on acceleration. Being a Toyota owner, I never really needed a mechanic. But, alas now I needed one and had no idea who to go to. I don't believe in using the Toyota dealers for everything, and knew that wasn't going to be an option for me. I did a search for my area and Import came up. Read the reviews, especially those written by women. Making the appointment was simple. You can do it online. Chris called the very next morning and confirmed. Chris greeted me as I pulled up and took the time to bring me out to my car and showed me exactly where and what the problem was. He explained how it worked and what the ticking sound was I was hearing.( Manifold replaced). I asked Chris to check my drive belt as my tire place told me it was cracked and needed to be replaced. Chris confirmed it and he replaced that as well. I had a rough idea what a manifold and/or muffler replacement would cost going in, but Chris was on the low end...so grateful! He also gave me a heads up of my motor mounts, but said not to worry. Just bring my car in for oil changes and they will keep an eye on them and let me know when I absolutely need to pull the trigger on that repair. He took the time to print me out an estimate right then. He was a stand up guy. I would highly recommend taking your car here. You will find nothing here but integrity. Wendy F. read more

The staff at import auto service are fantastic and speedy, Tim are Chris are great guys!

This place is the best! I will definitely take my car back here and recommend this place to everyone. I have a Prius and was quoted over $4K to fix my car at the dealership, Chris and the guys at Import Auto services fixed it for less than half of what I was quoted and fixed it in one day. They even gave me a loaner car so I didn't have to rent a car for the day. read more

I took my 2005 Lexus RX in because the service brake system lights kept coming on and I needed to have my battery tested. I had also taken my car to two other places regarding these code lights coming on and the other places said nope nothing wrong yet my car wasn't driving right. Tim checked my car over and found the reason why.....finally. I needed several things done. The shop is under new owners and these guys are awesome and honest. My car drives like it did when it was new. Thank you Chriss. read more

Once again absolutely fantastic service. My 2003 VW Passat car battery decided to die while I was out and about on Saturday. I took my car to one of those auto parts places to test the battery and the clerk couldn't even find my battery to test it. I knew I should have gone to IAS in the first place. Luckily it was a Saturday they were open. The mechanic on duty was so nice and polite, even though he was the only one there and it was busy busy busy.(Note to cranky customer, Chill! didn't you see how busy this one and only person in the shop was?) I had to come back and get my car later because they had to get the correct battery for my car but I appreciate they did that instead of just sticking some generic piece of junk in there to get me in and out. I might have paid a little less at one of the chain "auto service" places but every time I go there something gets damaged on my car, and they try to sell me on service I don't need! Nope I'm sticking with IAS, the prices are competitive, the service is always above and beyond, and most of all I trust them. read more

So these guys are awesome I'm incredibly picky on where I take my Land Rover, so when I saw the great reviews I felt comfortable giving this place a shot. When I got there I was warmly greeted my Chris and my car was taken in right away. And one of the best parts is the price point in perfect. I've never left an auto service without stressing about how much I just paid, but this experience was the complete opposite and I couldn't be happier! I know where I'll be taking my car from now on. read more

Loved the customer sevice here. I found them very friendy and trusting . They had my car done in a timely matter. And running great. Awesome prices . Will be coming back for all my car issues :) read more

Best place to take any car. I brought my 02 Volkswagen Jetta in for an AC fix, which they ended up fixing alongside my brake switch, mass air flow sensor, and PCV hoses to ensure my car passes smog. I was priced elsewhere for about 1300$ for everything these cool guys did for 785$. They got everything done in a timely fashion and made sure I had my car back for work. This place has such a nice environment and the guys in here are amazing they took such good care of me. They're very honest and want the best for you. So very happy with my car and how perfect it runs now. I would defiantly recommend them to everyone! read more

Hands down one of the most trustworthy auto mechanics in San Diego County. I brought my car in a little over 4 years ago when they first opened and I've brought every car I've ever had since then here. Anyone who is anyone who owns a vehicle stresses about finding a good honest mechanic and THIS PLACE IS IT! They do NOT price gauge and are extremely reasonable. They are willing to work with you. For example, they charged me half of what bmw would have charged me to get my radiator done. Chris and Tim are nice hard working people who genuinely car about the customer and their business. Chris even walked around my car with me to show me something's that would need attention in the future but didn't pressure me into getting them done. In fact he said that I can go a while still driving until I get it worked on. Most importantly these guys are legit the real deal. I'd rate 10 stars if I could. read more

These gentlemen have not only helped me out when my car was acting up, but they have taken the same care of both of my sisters. I would recommend Import to anyone I know who is having trouble with his or her car. From the moment I walked in, I could tell these guys were the real deal. Chriss kept things straight up with me from the gates and I appreciate his honest approach. It's tough being a female trying to deal with automotive guys, because you never really know who you can trust. You can trust Chriss and his team at Import Auto. Genuine, sincere, straightforward, and compassionate are just a few of the words I would use to describe these guys. I can't express how appreciative I am of all the strides they took to help keep me on the road and able to go to work. I would come here time and time again, although I hope I don't have to. Thanks and blessings to this whole team!! read more

I've visited Import Autos twice now and have received stellar service both times. Everyone there is nice, helpful, and trustworthy. When my previous mechanic moved his work location too far away, I really wasn't sure I'd find someone I would trust as much as I trusted him. But I really feel my car is in good hands now. This place is even within walking distance of where I live, which is just icing on the cake. In fact, I was offered a ride back home if I hadn't wanted to walk...pretty awesome! read more

Soooo... Second time having my car serviced here. I have a 08 Honda Accord. Had my timing belt replaced (was recommended) Chriss and Tim were very friendly and professional. The price was more than fair, I even got a loaner so i wouldn't be without a car. Did awesome work!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get their car serviced. I would definitely be back for future car services. read more

Thoughtful mechanic! Brought him some LED headlights I wanted installed and we discussed it and he opened box and read information; looked over headlights and said they were good ones. I asked him what if these are not better than the light already in car ? He put in one side and we turned on lights and compared old headlight to new one. So much better. I was so happy to have new white bright headlights that improved my night driving. Very fair price and he took time to think about, discuss and install. I will take my car here for next service. One other service rep at dealer told me if I put them in I would cause damage to car's electrical system because they were not Toyota brand parts; another place said the headlights I brought them were inferior (even thought they were rated in the top three of every review or article I read on the subject). Their brand was not mentioned in any of the reviews I read. I got them installed at Import Auto Service for 1/2 the cost of that shop. Tim, at Import Auto Repair, debunked the theory that the new lights would cause problems with real information. read more

i took my truck in for rear brakes valve cover gasket and fuel preasure sensor get the truck back and brakes do not work the pedal goes to the floor and parking brake doesnt work anymore (it used to) so i take it back to them to have the brakes bled and parking brake fixed they say my master cylander has gone bad and parking brake cable was busted when i brought it in they replace it and brakes still dont work they say its my vacuum pump, they replace it i still dont have brakes, i take my truck to a buddies house he bleeds the brakes and brakes work perfect, this shop will lie do not go there, also i looked them up there license from BAR to own/operate an auto repair shop expired in 2005 read more

The service here is excellent! They know what they're doing and don't waste your time.like these guys! They took me right in and had it done in no time. They even went the extra mile, I was having a problem with my front wheel. They had replaced an axle that was leaking with a new one. I was still having noise up front so I took somewhere else closer to see if it was something else. They said it was a wheel bearing, recommending replacement, I said ok. After getting my truck back I went on a test drive and decided it was making the same sound and took it back? They were nice and the Mgr. took it in the back. They put it up on the rack and looked at and said no, there's nothing wrong with it, maybe my tires? After 2 months of grinding I took it back to Import Auto Service, they told me the wheel bearing was bad? I was pissed! Those guys gave me the run around and failed at fixing it! Well the boss here decided he would do the repair for free gratis because of all the crap I was put through? Wow I'm impressed! That's going to go a long way with me! read more

We called Import Auto for a 35,000 mile service. They said yes they could service our Audi. Dropped if off, the mechanic was very nice. I called 6 hours later, and they stated they could NOT do the service because they did not have the correct tool. However, they did change the oil, filter, etc. So they took the liberty of doing a "partial" service. Now I have to take it somewhere else to finish it. Way too busy to take a car two places for a service. They should have disclosed that up front and not wasted my time. The women at the front desk. (who stated she was the owner). Was rude and arrogant. I told her I would review the charges, pay the bill, and get back to her with any issues. With that she stated she was glad the could not service my car and called me names. Low-Class -- never will I use them again!!! read more
