Our server, MJ, did a really great job taking care of us. She was nice, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our daughter had the Unicorn sushi roll with a side of edamame, my wife had a bowl of clam chowder and the shrimp scampi, and I had the fish and chips (cod; they also offer salmon and halibut, but the halibut, which I would have liked, was double the price at $38). For dessert, we shared the key lime pie. My wife said the clam chowder was OK, but more potatoes than clams. She did like her scampi. Our daughter liked the sushi roll. And, I liked the beer battered cod with the tartar sauce, and their fries were nicely seasoned and fairly crispy ( a little crispier would have been nice). The key lime pie had a rougher texture; I like it more creamy. Still good, though. I liked the exterior of the building. Red brick, arched windows that have a Mediterranean feel, and an exterior staircase that gives a bit of an industrial vibe. I thought it would be a little more upscale inside, but it is more basic wood tables and booths. There is a patio area, and it looks like there is an upstairs patio or dining area as well. All in all, a good first experience. We will definitely return.

We'll give it Lucky Fins another chance and hopefully we won't be unlucky.

I started to panic knowing the group would be coming from all parts of Boise and they would not know before trying to arrive there that it was closed. Well Kona Grill and the Manager Alexis came to the rescue I walked into Kona, explained the dilemma and without hesitation Alexis said I think we can accommodate our group. And accommodate us they did. I have to give a big, big, BIG shout out to Patrick and Trevor. They were masterful as our servers. The orders were taken quickly and brought out in a very timely way. Big groups I know can be taunted but Patrick and Trevor rode to the occasion. They were efficient, caring and totally in command all evening in taking and bringing out the orders and never complaining. Both were very pleasant, Professional and right there if we needed anything. It was a great evening and totally happy Kona could accommodate our group and as usual the food and happy hour appetizers were great

It took 45 minutes to get a kids meal out, appetizer didn't come out until after most of the entrees did, and as much as our server tried to hurry our meals up (watched her go back numerous times), nothing worked. How this place is still open is beyond me. I have finally had enough, and will not be back. Hopefully, some other restaurant comes in and kills it, great location. Don't waste your time or money. One Hospitality Group, might wanna work on your management training.

From the amazing calamari appetizer, to the delicious huckleberry martini to the great variety of fish on the menu, to the perfect halibut meal and excellent coffee and doughnut dessert. We loved being at Coa Del Mar and it will definitely be our go to spot for a fine dining experience.

The wine list is extensive, and the menu offers plenty of appealing options. We started with the oysters topped with raspberry mignonette, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. The combination was fresh, unique, and incredibly well executed. For our entrees, we ordered the Mahi Mahi with lobster and the Orange Roughy. While my Mahi Mahi was slightly overcooked, the drawn butter from the lobster helped bring it back to life and added great flavor. I wasn't a fan of the pineapple accompaniment, which tasted canned rather than fresh, but the sauce served alongside the dish was excellent. The Orange Roughy was the standout entree and definitely the better choice between the two. It was flaky, buttery, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Overall, Coa Del Mar delivers a gorgeous setting, excellent cocktails, friendly service, and some truly memorable dishes. While not every element of the meal was perfect, the oysters and Orange Roughy alone would have me coming back.

This is as close to the border you can get in Idaho! The waitresses deserve a huge compliment because they are always so friendly and welcoming. They check in on you, make sure you have what you need, and make the whole experience feel warm and personal. Great service like that makes a big difference. Honestly, this is probably one of the best authentic Mexican food places in the Treasure Valley. My daughter, who is half Mexican and knows real Mexican food, says this is the closest you can get in Idaho. That says a lot! She actually gets mad at me if I go without her! Highly recommend to anyone looking for truly authentic Mexican cuisine. I have frequented the Nampa one and now the Meridian one is closer, I have been frequenting that one!

We watched the progress and when they launched, we went in for visit. The inside looks refreshed but its not inviting. Its cold, it lacks friendliness and just feels hurried. The menu is - which I hope is a work in progress, came to us in laminated sheets with a ring. The prices are elevated here when compared to the Nampa location. My daughter ordered the Mojarra, my mom ordered a chicken burrito and my wife ordered the flautas. NOTE: Rice and Beans for my Mom's burrito was an additional $3.50. She begrudging ordered the rice and beans. It look some time for our dinner, and several diners received their order before us but I would suspect that it was due to the Mojarra - fried whole fish. Their plates arrived and my wife's flautas looked the best. A matter of fact, that picture is featured on El Guero's Yelp page. My Mom's burrito was very thin and small for the price point. My daughter's Mojarra looked good albeit slightly overcooked and burned. My Mom caught my attention and asked me, 'Where's the chicken?' in her burrito. I took a peak and didn't see any chicken whatsoever, I brought up to the server, and she just said sorry. I don't remember if there's a price difference between a chicken burrito and bean and cheese burrito but that was a dealbreaker for us especially having to pay an additional $3.50 for rice and beans. For the three of them, i did not eat, the bill was close to $70.00 In summary, we prefer the location in Nampa if we are going to have a special night out or celebrate but we're not going back to the new location in Meridian. It lacks soul and service. The prices, while adjusted for Meridian doesn't make up for the inadequacies in the food, service, and ambiance.

My girlfriends and I decided we needed to get some grub and enjoy the patio weather today so we all picked Sockeye to hit up for our monthly outing. I arrived first and the patio area was pretty chill. Was sat at a great table and hung out till the rest of my friends showed up. My two friends and I did get to peep out the menu for a bit. Our last friend who is notoriously late allowed is some extra time to really check out the whole menu without feeling rushed. Happy hour was going on so of course the apps were calling to me. I can make a meal off of multiple appetizers. We finally got food ordered when our last friend showed up. I got the salmon and shrimp crab cakes. I have left Sockeye hungry before after having dinner here so I also added a side of chili just in case. I was ready to eat! My crab and shrimp cakes came out looking fabulous. They were fried a nice golden brown. So crispy on the outside and savory on the inside. I love the aoili that was on top, it added an extra flair to the crab cake. 3 were in an order and it was the perfect amount. I smashed all 3 and they were so good! I did have a couple bites of the chili. It was hearty in meat and beans. Rich in flavor and filling. I'm looking forward to adding this chili to some fries with some cheese on top for dinner later. I know it's going to be so good. Our server did a great job tonight. Despite the fact that she had to wait till our last friend to show up, our server was on top of it. Our water was always filled, she checked up on us and always made sure we were happy. As a past server, it's hard to manage time between tables when the whole party isn't there. Our server didn't have that issue today. My girlfriends and I had a great time. We enjoyed the food, enjoyed the atmosphere and was happy that we got to do this all on the patio. I always forget that there's a Sockeye by us off of Hill Rd. I will have to check that one out soon to grab more crab cakes. I do look foward to coming back to this location and enjoying another round of appetizers on the patio here.
