11:30am 5/31 drive-thru order. 2 cars in front. Waited a long time until my order was taken even though I was sitting at the speaker. No problem, but it's definitely a foreshadowing of trouble ahead. Placed my order, a super, no bacon. Clerk repeated no bacon, great my request was heard. Waiting again as the car in front was getting their order. When I finally pulled up to the window, the clerk asked, "What did I order"? I already placed my order, and it should have been in the process of making, if not done, by now. He said that he did take my order, but forgot what it is. I told him he shouldn't offer to take my order, if he's not ready. I told him that I would call corporate and he said, "okay". Really bummed because I love Gyros but after I ordered, the person making the Gyro used a towel that was not sanitary to wipes his already disgusting hands ( the gloves he was wearing were not new and loose, had food on it and looked wet, vs. fresh gloves that you change while handling food that actually touches your skin) and then cut the food with a knife after using the nasty dish towel to wipe the food off. If I saw that before I paid I would have walked away. Then he didn't finish the order and grabbed his cell phone and started texting with his gloves on. I didn't eat the food. read more

It's dangerous having a Gyro Shack so close to my house. It's one of my favorite places to get a bite without it feeling too much like fast food. Unfortunately the new location was a bit too much like traditional fast food to earn the 4 stars that I've given to other locations. They retrofitted an old Subway (yay repurposing!) This location had only been open about a week when I went, so I have lots of grace for the whole operation. The drive through wasn't working and they couldn't hear me waiting to place my order. Luckily a gal out on her break saw me and ran in and told the crew. So I ordered at the window. The worker at the drive through was incredibly sweet but definitely still in training. I ordered a custom made gyro. It was regular pita, gyro meat, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta and olives. I love a good briney olive but woohee this was a salty combination! The meat is already well seasoned, so I should have known. I'll make a different choice next time. The meat was also ok. Crispy but luke warm. They do pack in the meat though which I love, because I always have to share with my tiny human leeches. This location serves fries! I was excited to try them. Unfortunately they are a very standard frozen, crinkle fry. Fine, but I won't waste calories on them again. One other thing that I'm excited to try is their new bowl option. You can get all the gyro toppings over rice (hopefully basmati!?). I'll report back when I try it next time. It's just so hard for me to say no to a gyro and a drive through. I visited the establishment yesterday at 3:00 pm 8-6-2021. I ordered a number 8 meal with tea. The menu showed $9.40. I couldn't hear the total and I ordered no extras. When I got to the window the young lady told me the total was $16.40. I asked why was it so much and she explained they had to raise prices and only sold large meals. She also mentioned that it was so they could afford to pay employees. I know you might be struggling but without my business you will struggle a bit more. I won't be back. read more

We are traveling across the country and stopped at a hotel near here and ordered delivery. They messed up the ENTIRE order. They forgot my sons fries, they gave me a rice bowl and added lettuce which I specifically did not note that I wanted, they failed to give me silverware, they didn't give my husband his side order, AND they gave him the entirely wrong sandwich. My husband called to speak to them and the guy who answered the phone VERY sarcastically apologized for forgetting the fries and told us to come pick them up. We paid for delivery and they gave the wrong order to the delivery person. He then got an attitude and said they aren't fixing it. My husband then asked for a manager or supervisor, and the employee said there wasn't one. My husband then asked for HIS name and the employee refused to give it. Now I have to get my entire order refunded AND no one is eating their dinner in the middle of a cross country move. Whoever answered their phone needs fired. read more

I wanted it to be good...but expectedly I was very disappointed with these gyros. I have been spoiled...and I know it, and because of it all other gyros will never live up to their true potential. But really, these gyros were worse than all others I have had in boise even. Any other joint is a step up from gyro shack so take the drive downtown and have at it....but what ever you do save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. read more

Newly opened location off Eagle near the 84. We decided to give them a shot, Bogo coupon in hand. Our order consisted of the Original, Philly, Super with green sauce, Super with red sauce, and an order of Greek fries. The Supers were flavorful and packed with ingredients. We were pleasently surprised. The Philly and Original Gyros were okay but could not stand up to the flavor of the Supers. The fries at $6 are overpriced and did not deliver. It took a bit of time for preparation but it was worth the wait as everything is made to order. Our cashier greeted us and did a great job taking the order, asking all the right questions, and even apologised for the extended wait. We will definitely be back to get our Gyro fix. read more

Such a good fast option for Mediterranean! Chicken Greek salad and Greek fries perfect. The salad was so fresh and delicious although there were a lot of huge onions that were easy to pick off/ eat around.. I'm sure it would be easy to ask them to make it without onions if you don't like them! read more

I've been hooked for years, the Deluxe is my favorite. Skip the burger joint and try this if you haven't, you won't regret it.

Road trip pit stop, just a couple minutes off the freeway, and sooooo worth it. The Greek fries we're crispy and tasty, and the Z and the Super gyros were both delicious. Do yourself a favor and check this place out when you're nearby. read more

I liked it so much I came back two days in a row. Very good quality for fast food. Fresh ingredients, tasty meat, soft and warm pita bread. Good fries too. The second day I came in there was only one employee working north the drive in and the counter. Still got me my food relatively fast. I hope we can stop extending unemployment benefits so people have a reason to go back to work and restaurants like this one can get the help they need. read more

It's the 27h of March, 2020... These are trying times in the United States. We are in the middle of a global pandemic and the Gyro Shack is alive and kicking providing excellent service and outstanding food to it's loyal and new customers alike. I have eaten at every Gyro Shack in the treasure valley and I can say that Magic View, Meridian is the place to go if you want some real greek food quick and in a hurry. I've eaten everything from the original gyro to the ultimate bowl and this is without a doubt the most culture and flavor you will ever see in a "fast food" restaurant. The quality of ingredients ranging from their fresh and juicy tomatoes to their bursting serrano peppers are on par with a five-star restaurant in Paris, France. The lemon pilaf rice in their bowls is warm, soft, and is an accent among the other rich flavors in a gyro. I highly recommend this original twist on greek food. There has never been an occasion where my order was wrong, the staff are friendly, helpful, and able to answer questions to new customers about the menu, and most importantly, they're timely and efficient in every single thing they do. If you work a day job I'd also tell you to try out the supreme breakfast gyro. It's delicious and filling as a morning meal. The Gyro Shack supports uber eats and door dash which is very convenient during our pandemic and they also fill catering orders for large parties (remember to save that info for a few months from now after social distancing requirements decrease).
