5 YEAR CUSTOMER. Does Imperial Storage Solutions (Fisher Global Development LLC) harass their customers when they're unable to pay? You decide. ----- If you fall on hard times because your wife gets diagnosed with aggressive leukemia that keeps you out of work 12 weeks in a row, this is how David Fisher (see his own words in the link below) could behave if you get upset that he is towing your vehicle for a second time (less than 15 days late on the bill and offered a partial payment). A bit of background - Gets a bit long. David and I (finally) spoke while the vehicle was still impounded in January (bill was 20 days late and had been due near Christmas). I explained my family's situation (I had previously left multiple messages with his staff asking for him to reach out, his after hours answering service had even notated the account regarding the cancer - never got a call, email, or text). Believe me when I say I could not physically stop by - business hours@christmas/new years, taking care of my child/household, and my wife's treatment schedule made it practically impossible. Literally life and death trips involving emergency blood transfusions happening at nearly the last minute. Very real, very scary. Anyway, David explained my information was incorrect in their system (email was wrong and my previous number being disconnected for non-payment - I TRIED SEVERAL times to give the new number over, and over in the messages I left with staff, on his voicemail, and after hours answering service prior to the impound). I believed the whole thing to be a misunderstanding (people get busy around Christmas, and things get overlooked), and that there was an assurance given that he could work with me if I brought my vehicle back. I pawned a lot of my things (saws, drills, and other tools I used to rebuild the room my wife would be in while at home - didn't need them after completing the work on our older house to make sure there was no mold) to get our vehicle out of impound. It took weeks to get the money together, and cost over $2,000. The whole fiasco occurred in the middle of an extended hospital admission for back to back chemo treatments. It was so awful. That in mind, anyone in their right mind wouldn't bring their vehicle back to a place that impounded it without an understanding of what happened, and what could happen going forward, especially during a prolonged illness. This illness has gone on 7 months (3 months at the time), getting to work has been nearly impossible, missing lots of days, and money. I knew the likelihood of being late on another payment was a reality. I communicated as much before moving back in. I was late again mid-April, in the middle of another prolonged chemo treatment in which my paychecks were severely affected. I communicated I was going to have an issue paying, communicated prior to the due date. I offered to provide documentation from the oncologist explaining the severity of our situation. I never wanted anything for free, I just wanted to pay when I could, and not have my vehicle towed. I'm having to pay lots of bills late, and all my creditors have been very understanding - even other corporate storage facilities. Look, I am for veteran owned business, especially small ones. I wanted to choose Imperial Storage Solutions over a corporate solution, specifically because a small business can make concessions a big, faceless business won't. I even went back, believing we were there on that understanding. Is he legally within his rights to impound my vehicle? Yes. I advise if you're going to store here, stay healthy. Moving 1500 miles to TX having to put my personal belongings into storage was a little stressful, but when came into Imperial Storage Solutions I was greeted by Karthik. Karthik was so nice and welcoming, I felt like I walked into my family's home. Karthik helped me get a storage unit and was kind enough to give me a discount. I'm 1000% Karthik gave me a brand spankin' new storage unit and if it wasn't it was cleaned perfectly. I only needed the unit for one month, so 30 days later I was back and ready to move out just for David to literally be such a lifesaver! David was so kind and helpful during the process of moving all my stuff out, David reminded me multiple times of times frames for the move out and bringing the u-haul back. Well, guess who brought the u-haul back late and wasn't here in time to do the move out with Imperial.. Arrived this morning greeted by Victor, David, and Karthik! So welcoming! These might be my new favorite people! They helped me with the return paperwork for the u-haul being brought back late to them and DID NOT CHARGE ME THE EXTRA FEE FOR HAVING THE U-HAUL LONGER! It gets even better, they did not charge me for another month of having the storage unit even though they could have. I had a decent experience with imperial up until I, unfortunately had to deal with the rude owner. Before taking anything into consideration, the owner is quick to blame and loses all professionalism. To be fair, the staff over there is great! Also during my stay, there was always something that needed to be fixed (door, lights, etc.) Personally, I would stay away just by how unfair and rude the owner is. read more

Funny, the business name called SOLUTIONS...what kind of solutions they provided,,,yelled back? fight back? Don't blame the mirror if you are ugly...plz "I noticed your dispute with the rental of the truck. I reviewed the agreement and you indicated that you were charged double. The rental agreement shows you were only charged for one day. It shows you drove 63.20 miles and you were charged for the mileage as per your truck rental agreement. You returned it with 3 gallons less fuel than you received it and you were charged for the fuel (you did agree to put back in the fuel that you used). I am sorry you think we took advantage of you. I have done you the courtesy of adding you to our E-Alert system so that you do not have to worry about renting a U-Haul again, with this system, they will not be allowed to rent to you in the future. I've been using Uhaul before, and definitely able to afford the payment, but, this is incorrect... to terminate me to use this brand or your Third-Party company, seems a joke. The fact that we are an authorized dealer is no different than your going to any other U-Haul facility. You are disputing the fuel level?  You should have looked when you returned it. Do you think you can drive a 15' UHaul F-350 box truck 63 miles and put in only 3 gallons of gas?  You have got to be joking. Are you disputing the miles you drove?  Because we log the miles when we check it in and then we check it out again. You are the renter sign in the agreement that you will verify fuel and mileage before you leave the property. So now you have an issue that we charged your credit card for final charges, the U-Haul agreement you signed on the keypad upon rental authorized these charges. This is not a third-party application, this is an agreement between you and U-Haul directly. We are only dispatching the truck. So your dispute is with who? Obviously, you did not check your fuel level when you filled up to confirm you were putting back in the right amount of fuel.  Or you thought you were going to get one over on us. The truth is we strictly follow U-Haul's procedures and everything is uploaded into the U-Haul system. It is not held in our system, we keep none of your data. We are the only authorized, agent. But because you obviously do not understand the system, I put you on the e-alert system so you do not run into this again. Maybe another truck rental agency will let you get away with free gas, free miles, or whatever else you wanted for free. Theft of customer property. On 03/06/2022 my trailer was stolen from this facility. After I posted negative review here, it was removed. It should be known to the customers there that their property is Not secure. Camera footage of the theft provided by the management is useless and grainy. The owner, David Fisher, explicitly stated that he is Not responsible for the theft that is occurring on camera in his own place of business. At the least, there is no priority given there to the safety of the stored belongings. Moreover, it made me feel that manager and owner are complicit in the theft. And! they were insolent enough to send me the bill for the storage of my stolen trailer! By the way Police is not able to investigate because the camera recordings are grainy and are useless to them. I found this place via the U-Haul website. It's funny how you can live in an area since you were a kid but didn't know a place existed! I rarely cross Hwy 6 on Voss (despite going to Kempner High School many moons ago), so this is like a hidden gem! I have to admit I was a little worried at first. I had reserved the U-Haul for a 9AM pickup, and my friends were set to also arrive at the same time at my house. At 8:40AM, the place was closed. According to the sign, they didn't open until 9AM. I groaned. This means we wouldn't even start the paperwork process until 9AM, even though I had reserved the U-Haul for pickup at that time? My previous experience with U-Haul at another location is that it would take about 20 minutes to complete paperwork. I paced. At 8:50AM, the front desk guy showed up! He unlocked the business with his fast food breakfast in hand. A down to earth fellow, he was pleasant as can be. Since I was the only person there, paperwork was a breeze, and my worry for all for naught. He had the paperwork completed within 7 minutes, and that's with listing my father as the primary driver even though I made the reservation and paid with my credit card. All the guy needed was my dad's driver's license. The terms of the agreement were exactly as I had reserved online. To rent a 17' truck for 6 hours, it cost $29.99. Add $.99/mile (drove 13 miles), and tax, and the total cost was about $43. That is a bargain compared to hiring movers (thanks to a couple of friends who I rewarded with massages!)! The place itself was nicely landscaped. My dad's a gardener, and he admired the roses and flowers. There aren't that many parking spots, but I can't imagine there are a LOT of people lining up to rent trucks. I also noticed a couple of people coming in and out of the storage area (used a keypad) with no issues. The front desk guy was very helpful and nice. During the easy-as-pie return, he reminded my dad a couple of jackets were left in the front seat. He was also courteous to his own staff, which says a lot. The business supports Kempner High School, so we found some common ground. If I ever need to rent a U-Haul again, I would definitely come here instead of the main U-Haul place off of Bissonett & Hwy 6. Even the front desk guy here agrees they're rude! read more

Updated Review February 2020: (2 stars) Because Rosa did such a great job I decided to go with them for storage and uhaul rental. Terri and Scott were friendly. However, their documentation is inaccurate. Upon renting the truck the gas needle was said to be just under full however it was at 3/4 tank of gas and upon returning it, it was at 7/8 tank of gas which was better than it was when I got it. I did not go inside for receipt but let them send it in an email (which was a mistake ). Upon receiving the email I had a $5 charge for gas on the receipt. I called Terri to let her know and she said she would check into it and call me back because she had customers. I waited a few minutes but decided because I live so close by to drive to Imperial Storage to settle the issue. They let me know since I didn't mention it before they sent the email there's nothing they can do about it and to call a man by the name of Phil. I called Phil and I am waiting to hear back from him. They are friendly and were more than willing to give me Phil's contact information to settle the matter but it does speak to the inaccurate records of this company that I am having to go through this. It is my fault that I did not mention it and did not go inside to receive receipt but my recommendations for this company are below. My recommendations for this company is to accurately report in and out gas mileage not just what is on the computer screen because had that been done it would've been obvious the needle was on 3/4 tank. Also, make sure the truck is clean because it was dirty inside and boards left in the mom's attic ( which I mentioned when I returned the truck so at least I wasn't charged for that).
