My family and I came in and right off the bat they tried to overcharge us it was $18 a person and they tried to charge us $26. We've frequented this restaurant for many years for 10 years. Their quality was always very good for a Buffet and they used to have the crab legs we've been here one since Covid and it was decent, but the crab was very sparse. We now went there tonight for the first time everything was cold or at least no more than room temperature and the price is inflated to $20 and that's without crab to me not even remotely worth the cost for a mediocre Buffet , go to your favorite takeout and get all kinds of appetizers and two meals and you'll be way ahead of the game. Came here for dinner on a Monday night and I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about. The food selection and diversity was better than most buffets in this price range. All the dishes are well prepared and well stocked. The interior of the restaurant is a bit run down but not any worse then the more affordable buffets. The one thing I think could have been improved upon was the temperature of the dishes seem to be consistently not as hot as they should've been. They will make fresh sushi for you upon request which is really nice. Although I didn't have any they will also shuck oysters for you. The service was decent. They also offered snowcrab legs which for a buffet in this price range was a bit of a welcome surprise. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. We used to come to this buffet often before Covid and on our first time returning after, we are sure it will be our last. We went for on a Sunday, to have a nice birthday lunch with family. Coming in, no one was there to greet or seat us so we stood there waiting until we were rudely signaled over with a hand signal. Before we sat down we were asked what we wanted to drink, my grandmother who is hard of hearing didn't understand since most servers were still wearing masks and the woman would was taking our order got upset with her and rolled her eyes before repeating herself. I asked what drinks they still offered which again seemed to irritate our server who sped through the drinks. (I only asked because they had changed most everything else, no placemats, plastic utensils, paper plates, etc.) We got up and grabbed food few times, our plates were never taken from the table which left an awkward stack, and we were never offered refills. Our server and another server were at a table a few away from ours on there phones, not once did they come by of check on us. I eventually got up and went over to them because we were all out of drinks and when asked if we could have refills again was greeted with eye rolls and sighs. She then brought me the wrong drink which I was going to ask for the right one but she didn't stay long enough even for that. Another server grabbed our plates and gave us the check. We were not done but also didn't want to be there any longer so we waited with payment in hand and no one came, so we brought it to the front where no one was and waited again. We paid and we left. We will not be coming back and if I could would give this place zero stars. The food is average, things are mislabeled so if you have an allergy be aware, and it is a pretty dirty place. So we've all been to your average Chinese buffet.... you get a decent variety of traditional Chinese restaurant dishes, Sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, rib tips, etc etc. This buffet is no different other than there is a raw sushi bar and grill section. Half of the time there is nobody behind the station to take your order. If you're looking for a reasonably priced Chinese buffet, this is a good place to go. If you're looking for superior service, including waitress service, look elsewhere. The food either had been sitting there for days or it was near its expiration date prior to "cooking". Went to this restaurant on Father's Day. They upped the price because it was Father's Day, but that was posted. They illegally added nearly $17 for a tip for two people onto our bill. This policy was not posted and I do not tip at a restaurant until after we eat and see how the service was. When I asked for a glass of wine, the waitress looked at me strangely, even though they have a full bar. So now I just tell her to bring soda. She brought it to us but spilled it on the table and did not wipe it up. That was the first and only time we saw her. Food was so-so. This place honestly should not be open ! I went with my family Saturday and as soon as walked in we were stopped in our tracks an a lady pointing to her hand that read "tip" on it seated us. The employees boarder line stalked our table an made everyone so uncomfortable. As soon as anyone's plate was empty they were reaching all over our table grabbing things . Ok 3.5 stars....this is the only place I know that has crab legs (please let me know if u know anywhere else that does). When u walk in ur greeted by a koi fish pond. Selection is good. They have a raw bar. I'm surprised for the price and having crab legs, raw bar, shrimp cocktail that they are still making money. I enjoy coming here. Only issue....crab legs do not come out as fast as I'd like lol. Many times I've had to request for them to come out and I'll wait very patiently for them. Fast food, buffet style. It's cheap and it's quick. I like these buffets because sometimes I just don't want a whole plate of lo mien like I get from delivery, I can have a plate with a few lo mien noodles, broccoli, mushrooms, a crab rangoon, and a bowl of wanton soup without needing to purchase each item separately. Tonight was the busiest I've ever seen here, yet half of the tables were still empty. We were sat at a booth and our drink orders were taken. Throughout our meal the girls returned several times to refill our water and take away any plates we had. We did not feel neglected and although there was a language barrier the girls were very nice. Decor here is typical to Asian buffets. Blue ceilings with silver glitter, Asian scenery art back drops, strange pavilion in the center of the restaurant, and coy ponds, and it's all kept pretty clean. The food itself was not bad at all. Everything was warm and had not been on the buffet too long. There was a girl walking the buffet, monitoring what was low or getting old, so the kitchen was constantly sending out fresh food. My husband was able to order a spicy tuna roll also which was made very quickly and tasted pretty decent. Even though I gave Imperial Buffet two stars, I was not disappointed. Why? I had my standards set low because of the Yelp reviews and massive buffets do not always produce the best culinary experiences. The food was satisfied me on a snowy day, but it reminded me of college cafeteria food. I filled my plate with General Tso's, chicken and broccoli, honey buns, and mac and cheese. The dessert buffet was a little disappointing as they had stale cookies and hard-as-a-rock ice cream cups. I had chocolate pudding, but I wished they had sprinkles (I know first-world problems). Fruit and the uncooked buffet looked foul. There was a sushi bar, but it was not opened and/or there was an extra charge. No matter how bad the weather is, this place is always opened! This Chinese buffet is in a strip mall in Berlin together with a Home Depot and a Kohl's. It isn't a big buffet by Chinese buffet standards. I've been to places that offer a much bigger selection of food. However, what they do have is okay and fills the belly just fine. I like that the ice cream at this buffet is in individual cups so people don't get their messy hands in an ice cream tub, which happens at other Chinese buffets that serve hard ice cream. Wow I wish I could have left zero stars. Came with my wife, daughter, son and two of his friends. We go to get ice cream they were all pre packed for Covid and gave us no spoons. Kids were getting hyper so we decided since they didn't give us spoons and they were in covered plastic containers we would just leave....we were stopped at the door and told we needed to pay $1 per ice cream if we left with them....$6 for ice cream after dropping $97 on the bill. Sanitary is appearently not a word they have heard of leaving oysters on the bar with nothing to keep them cool.
