You would think when having a stage 4 cancer patient they would make them a priority because it is time sensitive and all they want is to be able to take their family member home and they have waited over 5 days for a biopsy so the can take them home they would just get it done and stop making excuses.......

A family member had had a bad seizure, so I came to town for moral support and to help supply all the happy and positive vibes! Our patient was on one of the older floors that had not been remodeled so the chairs were uncomfortable. Especially after hours and hours of sitting. BUT right down the hall was a new wing that was for ICU patients and their new lounge was super nice. Nice comfy chairs. Blankets. A kitchenette with a microwave and Ice machine. Very helpful. The cafeteria here had weird hours and only certain stations were available after 2 or 3. The salad bar was fine. They also had a monthly revolving menu, so you always knew what hot bar would be available. When it comes to hospitals if you can't respect the work the nursing staff and technicians do all day everyday, you need your head checked. We appreciated all the hard work and hard things they have to do for patients who are in pain. At Saint Johns they offer up a reward program so your able to recognize and nominate a team member. We made sure to let them know how appreciated they all were everyday but also nominated the best of the best.

I am 75 years old and not looking for any mind altering experience, but I do qualify as I have RA, and a number of other painful nerve and spinal problems. Pain medication in pill form make me sick to my stomach and I desperately need an alternative. Any rule has exceptions ( Doctors are told not to sign forms qualifying patients conditions for these products) but so far I haven't made the grade. My requests have brought a resounding "NO"! Please consider patients on a more case to case basis. The need is stronger than SC's resolve to keep it out of my reach. Janet A Edwards

The check-in process was excellent--I was registered and placed in an exam room before I could even finish my paperwork. I first explained my symptoms, injuries, and what caused them to the physician assistant. A few minutes later, Dr. Campbell entered and asked me to repeat everything I had just explained. After listening to my account, I was stunned when Dr. Campbell told me she would not document how or where my injuries occurred in my medical record. I repeated her statement back to make sure I understood correctly, genuinely surprised by what I was hearing. When I asked if she considered my explanation to be hearsay, she answered, "Yes." I was taken aback. Before leaving, I asked one final question: "Do you think I'm lying to you?" She did not respond, which only added to my disbelief. For context, I had recently been arrested following a minor physical altercation, and I believe my injuries occurred while I was in the custody of Springfield law enforcement and the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office. Regardless of the circumstances, I expected my physician to accurately document the history I provided, even if it was clearly identified as my reported account. Instead, I left shocked that such a critical part of my medical history was dismissed outright rather than recorded. While the staff was prompt and courteous at first, my interaction with Dr. Campbell left me with the firm belief that Springfield Clinic Urgent Care medical professionals do not care about disabled veterans. They also banned me from ever returning because I asked to speak to someone about Dr Campbell's overt disrespect while saying I've never experienced such disrespect like that as a military veteran.
