Great experience with salesman assistant manager Kyle. Spent over 1k on a weapon. Throughout the purchase process I was a shored multiple times that I have aftermarket parasites that I had purchased in a package with the weapon could be installed by the on-site gunsmith quickly before I left the store. After the paperwork was done and my money collected I was directed to "Terry" the on-site gunsmith. I don't know if Terry's grumpy every day or just had a bad day today but he was very rude and informed me that he could not put the sights on today and had an attitude and telling me so. Found Kyle before I left the store I thanked him for his professionalism I told him about the unprofessionalism of their gunsmith and he said oh. I somewhat expected since how he was the assistant manager to address it but he did not stop me from giving the store five stars. It's a little country and off the beaten path, but they know guns. Especially Sean Speckman, he knows his stuff. The indoor shooting range is also nice and they have an assortment of guns to rent and test (even some that you might not see elsewhere). Give it a try before you hit the big box stores. read more

I am an Ogden local, this review is about that location only. I know a fair amount about guns. These gentlemen have never looked down on me for asking an informed question. These guys do expect you to do your own homework first. But come on people, YOU'RE ABOUT TO BUY A FIREARM. DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK. Clay Rich is a great guy, he took the time to walk me around and show me the accessories I wanted to get with my new AR purchase. I have bought a few guns from them and have had others serviced here. I am VERY happy with the service and knowledge. The only room for improvement is pricing. They aren't the cheapest, but they aren't nearly as expensive as cabelas or sportsmans. Also-they didn't take the money out of my account until they actually shipped the pistol. I didn't check the availability of any ammo since we already had some at this time. To start I've been using impact for a lot of firearm purchases, parts and ammo. First, way over priced like extremely over priced. But recently started to build a new gun and bought parts from other retailers because of price but decided to order some mags from impact. A month and a half later with no emails no phone calls nothing I dropped in and a person I will not name helped me. He went looking and we were both very professional 25 minutes go by and I find him sitting there talking to what I assume we're his buddies dropping the F bomb loud in front of other customers and being inconsiderate. I waited while he finished his convo and asked him if he had found them. No.. I demanded my money back and will not go back for anything else. I wish I had read all the Yelp reviews before I purchased. I'm inclined to call this a bait-and-switch, though it may be pure incompetence. Ordered 400 rounds of ammo more than a month ago. Price was really good for full-powered 10mm. Order didn't ship, and eventually got a "back-ordered" e-mail. Corresponded several times -- they actually were good at responding. Eventually they said they had to get it from a different warehouse, but it would ship soon. It arrived today -- 8 boxes of 20, not 8 boxes of 50. The photo AND description on the site CLEARLY show and say 50. Also, instead of the 1250fps advertised, the boxes are labeled as 1150fps, so they really didn't get anything right. Spoke to customer service, and they are saying 20 rounds is the correct amount per box. My only option is to return the merchandise, which I will do with all haste. To whom it may concern: On April 2 I purchased a Springfield XDM compact .45 with 3.8 inch barrel and 13 round magazine from your Boise store. My credit card was charged for the full purchase price on that date. On April 10 I called to check on the status of my gun and was told that "at the time of ordering there was one in stock, now there isn't one in stock, let me check with my manager and see if its in transit". Later that day I received a call saying it wasn't ordered and cant be ordered at this time. I asked when the store was planning to call and notify me of this and received no reply. That day (April 10) I changed the order to a Springfield XD mod2 subcompact with 3.3 inch barrel and 13 round magazine which was in stock. When I called today (April 22) I found out that the gun had not even been ordered until the 15th of April and was told there is no way of knowing when it will arrive. If you check store records you will see that I have been a longtime customer of Impactguns and have purchased numerous firearms from your Boise store and online. I have always found Impact to have excellent prices and customer service and have always recommended your store to family and friends but this transaction will have an impact on where I shop for firearms in the future. I placed an order for an AR-15 that comes with a 30 rd mag on Bud's Guns website. It is not legal to buy or sell a 30 rd magazine in Maryland, but it is legal to posses one or bring it in to the state. They refused to let the FFL regulate it, they refused to ship the magazine to another state, they refused to swap the 30 rd magazine for a 20 rd, and they refused to remove the magazine from the order all together So, to summarize, Bud's refused to ship my firearm, then I canceled the order, then they collected my money and now they have been holding it for well over a week. I placed the same order at Impact Guns. Impact gave me the option to swap, remove, or work with the FFL to handle the 30 rd mag. They collected funds after they shipped. The firearm arrived at the FFL today. Impact Guns was very easy to use and their Customer Service was top notch. read more

they are very difficult to get help then when you do they don't want to sell you a gun. I recently moved and updated my address through BCI for my concealed carry and drivers license but i didn't have anything w my new address. So I called BCI and they told me to buy a fishing license with my new address on it and that will work. I bought license then went back to get gun. They still would not sell it to me because they said their insurance policy won't allow them to accept fishing license for proof. The ATF accepts it but Impact doesn't? The ATF is already a pain then Impact makes it even worse. So I went to Red Dot in Layton and bought the gun with no problem using the fishing license and concealed carry permit. I wouldn't go back to Impact if they paid me. It's ridiculous they have stricter policies than ATF. I don't know why people shop here or how they stay in business with such horrible service. read more

I'm new to buying fire arms and not familiar with the whole process but dealing with Impact Guns made everything very unpleasant! The lady I was dealing was very condescending and rude . I placed and order on Tuesday and Wednesday morning I received an email stating something was conflicting on my order and I had to call or respond to their email. I responded to their email. Fast forward a couple of day and I follow up with Impact Guns because I have not heard back from them and I'm I did not respond fast enough so they canceled my order. When I inquired as to what was conflicting on my order I made the mistake an ordered a clip that is not legal in California. This is where I was lectured about CA gun laws. I purchased a firearm based on the description and the picture they had on their website and what I received was inaccurate. Their sales manager Taya proceeded to argue with me and tell me the pictures on the website are just a "general" photo description and might not be accurate. (What?!?!?!) They then held up my refund even though I never took possession and they sent the wrong product. Absolutely horrendous customer service. I purchased a Ruger AR556, NJ compliant model rifle from them with a discount code provided. They cancelled the order the next morning and claimed that it was not a compliant firearm. After explaining to customer service that the part number of the rifle they were selling was the compliant model as recommended by the mfg and full well knowing I could purchase this in any local store, they refused to acknowledge that this was their mistake. The laziest, most incompetent bunch of bozos I've ever encountered in a gun store -- no, make that retail store, period. THREE TIMES I tried to order from their shop here in Boise. I'll recount the last two: 1. I called Savage to see if one of their XP packages (rifle + scope) was available in left hand (the rifle itself is in left hand). They said yes, just have your dealer call, we'll give them our wholesale price, then they can tell you retail price and order. I gave Impact the direct phone number for this. One week later I called back -- "we tried to call but couldn't get through." And that's it. Making more than one attempt to call is just too much work for these turkeys. Second, I actually ordered a NAA Black Widow that was listed as in stock in their website. Was told it would take 1-2 weeks to deliver from their warehouse in northern Utah to southern Idado (SLC to Boise). At 2 week mark, I called and was told it "was still in transit." Now, over a month later, still no gun, no phone call, zilch. I went elsewhere. These turkeys really don't care if they make a sale. read more

I placed an order for a new Smith and Wesson Shield but noticed it was clearly used after I received it. I spoke to one of their customer services reps Melissa who stated that they will not refund or replace it. I wrote a review on their website which contained fact and nothing derogatory or anything against their review guidelines but they blocked it to protect their sales. Impact has a really nice range and that is the only reason that I go there the few times a year I'm forced to shoot indoors. However, their service is awful, their prices are high, and their employees would rather tell you what you need instead of listening to what you want. I've attempted to buy firearms there on three different occasions and I've finally decided that I will never attempt to buy a firearm from them. I've got friends that say the same thing and have warned me about dealing with the sales staff at Impact Guns. The first time, I tried buying a shotgun (2008): I stood in front of the "shotgun counter" for over 20 mins before I was finally helped. Then, the jerk behind the counter kept telling me what I should buy; Which happened to be a shotgun out of my price range at the time. The second time, I tried buying a 9mm pistol (2009): While standing at the middle display cases full of pistols, I was flat out ignored, repeatedly by multiple sales people. It was busy, but even when I would step up and attempt to announce myself, they would look right past me and ask the person next to me or behind me what they needed. I was wearing tennis shoes, jeans, a plain black t-shirt, and a ball cap. I have no exposed tattoos and no piercings. Why they chose to ignore me remains a mystery, but I'm still appalled by it. The third time, I tried buying a .45 cal pistol (2012): After standing at the middle display case for an extended period of time in their nearly empty store, a short , bald, stocky guy with glasses helped me. Again, instead of listening to me, he would rather tell me that I'm concealing my weapon in the wrong place (I inquired about small .45's for concealment as I'm a CCW holder in Utah) and then tell me all the different pistols he owns and how he conceals each one. That's fine usually, but he kept interrupting me, and refused to shut-up long enough for me to get back on topic. After 20 mins, I finally left without even handling a pistol. I've been in Utah since 2002 when the Air Force decided Hill AFB would be my permanent duty station. I have known many gun enthusiast over the years and most of them tell me that they dealt with the same issues at Impact and they refuse to shop there. These are active duty military people that can't stand to buy firearms from Impact guns. I can't believe this place is still in business. I'm guessing that if it wasn't for their range, they probably wouldn't be. I prefer to shop local and buy these types of items from "mom-and-pop" stores, but with service like that, it forces me to go elsewhere to the chain stores (Sportmans, cabelas, etc...) and buy my firearms. read more

Placed an order on 8-27-2014 from the rifle being advertised as "In Stock". Shipping date was on or before 9-9-2014. Called on 9-10-2014 and asked had it been shipped and was told it was on a truck and to look out for a tracking number email. Instead I got an email from another person saying their vendor "takes their sweet time shipping orders". So as of now I'm thinking I need to put track shoes on so I'm prepared for the run around. I bought a brand new 10/22 from impact it had some issues and would not chamber. The staff was helpful in trying to get the gun working. They would not return it and told me to go thru ruger. 10/22 are known for quality. If the store won't guarantee its guns I will be shopping else where. I would not recommend impact. read more

Be CAREFUL! Once you place an order, they are going to ship it, no matter how hard you try to cancel otr how much warning they have. They do get very busy so there may be a wait to make a purchase or us the range. Overall though I like this store read more

Do not go here!! Went in to buy a gun or two, but wanted to shoot a bit before. Talked to the guy and right away I knew I didn't like the dude. Didn't greet me and hardly looked at me when I was talking to him (looking at his phone or computer) I asked if we could shoot, the answer I got was "we don't have any open lanes" as I see only three of the ten lanes being used... I asked if there was a better time I could come back when a lane would be "available" and what pissed me off was his answer "it's Saturday" Thanks diptard I forgot my calendar at home. I just got a couple K's bonus and wanted to buy a nice AR setup. Nobody asked if I needed any help.
