This is absolutely the worst pizza I have ever had the misfortune to eat. The toppings are skimpy and of low quality. They think that cutting it into squares will be enough of a novelty to distract you from the crap they call pizza. A plain cheese pizza will be topped with some horrible preprocessed fake american cheese and the crust is like dirty bath water mixed with moldy flour. I like Imo's. I don't love it, but it's always a solid lunch choice, and typically not slammed so that you can get in and out easily on a lunch hour. They have a lunch special for an 8" pizza, half salad and drink for like $8. It probably wouldn't satiate a huge appetite, but I don't like to eat heavy before going back to work so it's perfect. Their house dressing is a sweet vinagrette that I do enjoy, and then the pizza is a pretty basic thin crust pizza. The provel is their landmark- and it's pretty good if you like pizza. Parking can suck, but it's worth a try! There are also several neat little shops around to peruse if you have time. read more

The pizza is good, but the customer service is horrible. They messed up an order I placed by not calling me when it got to my work because they never asked for my phone number. So I called just trying to figure out what was going on and had to speak to 3 different people, with one who wanted to argue at that, she said I'll give you a credit. So I call today for my credit of what I thought would be a lunch special (because that's what my original order was).. Nope just an 8 inch 2 topping pizza and the girl on the phone really didn't want to believe what I was telling her. This will probably be the last time I order from them unless there by some miracle they quit hiring rude kids who don't care. I would much rather support a local business over a chain, but when this is what you have to deal with why even bother? read more

They're ok, I'm just not a fan of paper thin crust on a pizza, I'm sorry but if I can break the crust just by picking it up, then it's too thin, I like a thick crust. Taste is good, price is up there, but decent. My wife and I ate here a few times when we wanted a quick bite before a movie. Definitely aimed at the college crowd or the young hipsters. Today was my last bad experience with this restaurant. I was trying to order online and had difficulty so I called the Imo's on Pickwick. I ordered the lunch special. The order taker said she'd have it to me in 15 minutes. I wondered how they were going to cook it and deliver it in 15 minutes. I should have asked. 45 minutes later I call and inquire about the delivery. The order taker claims I ordered for pick up. NO. I.Did.Not. And she didn't ask. Shouldn't that be a routine question for an order taker? Especially one who claims to be the manager? Did she wonder why I offered my card information? Wouldn't that make her think that I was ordering delivery? The worst thing is, she wouldn't own the mistake. Why couldn't she have owned it and apologized? I would have said that's okay. And then waited for my order. I'm glad I didn't; they burn the pizza there sometimes. Every single time I have ordered Pizza from Imo's here in Springfield it was either badly prepared or just wrong. I ordered the roast beef sandwich. In St. Louis, where I come from, that sandwich is fabulous. Here it was the most disappointing piece of mediocrity I've ever seen a restaurant attempt to call "food". I am never ever ever ever subjecting myself to their terrible service or products again. I didn't know Imo's made burnt pizza until I ordered Imo's in Springfield. This place is hopeless. They better put the money back on my card. read more

I used to get pizza from Imo's Glenstone location often and for many years. It was ready quickly, had a fresh and full flavor, and was always delicious. I came back to Springfield and was pleased to see the new bistro-esque location. I placed an order for pickup and was told it would be ready in just under an hour. I arrived there 40 minutes on the minute from when I had called. The atmosphere was pretty cool and I was really looking forward to getting some of the great pizza I was used to. Unfortunately, this is where it all started going sour. The pizza was ready but the girl at the counter was seemed annoyed that she had to come out from the back area to help me. I gave her the benefit of the doubt at first but the indifference and rushing to get my money and get me out continued. I could understand if I was babbling or trying to make small talk, or if they were busy, but just normal communication for the transaction should be pretty pleasant at a business. Normal at least, but never indifferent or rude. I didn't think too much of it when I left because I was about to get into my car and have a piece of some always great pizza. Wrong again. It was room temperature and the crust tasted stale and overly hard; bland at best. I couldn't believe it. I felt terribly ripped off and let down. At the prices they charge, you should get what you pay for, not a freezer section take home grocery store pizza. I really, really, hope this place can get back to their former delicious glory. Being from California I have never experienced a St. Louis style pizza, only the more famous N.Y. & Chicago styles as well as California style. I did a bit of research and decided to give it a try. Imo's is apparently one the oldest StL style pizzas which varies from NY & Chi pizza in several key ways. First the crust is a thin cracker crust and its not bad as it allows for the toppings to really stand out taste wise. The second thing is the cheese, its a special blend of Swiss, cheddar, & provolone know as provel made just for StL style pizza. It has a distinct taste and doesn't string out when you take a bite. Third was the toppings. Whole strips of bacon not bits! The taste was good though it took a couple bites to adjust to the alien flavors I was not accustom to. My only real complaint is that this is so alien a flavor that it didn't satisfy my pizza itch, however it was delicious. The cracker crust made it seem like i was eating the most awesome lunchable ever made. They also have salads, sandwiches and other Italian menu items such as lasagna and toasted ravioli. If you do decide to try Imo's I recommend their roast beef sandwich. Overall I enjoyed my experience shop wise and food wise. read more

this pizza is not for people from Chicago...this is real pizza as it was intended to be..the quality of the product is wonderful. apparently the recipe are nearly 50 years old and have never changed..the topping are all natural ..the meat is "real meat" the vegetables are real "fresh vegetables. from my experience the only topping that are not freshly sliced everyday are the olives and pineapple...oh and the anchovies...which are wonderful if you are into tha sort of thing...i heard that the Imo family actually owns their own farms outside st louis and raise their own cattle and pork... read more

I am from St Louis and grew up on Imo's Pizza. So I was rather happy to know that there was Imo's here in Springfield Mo. I like thin crust pizza. Went in and placed a order for a extra large. Waited over twenty five minutes to get my pizza. We took the pizza home looking forward to enjoying it while watching TV. When we open the box I was rather disappointed with the size of the pizza. It didn't look like a extra large to me not really even a large. More the size of a medium. The pizza wasn't even all that warm either. We had to heat it up in the microwave. To make matters even worse I got sick later that night from what must of been some very bad meat or sauce on the pizza. Also the price they charged for the pizza was really expensive a little over twenty dollars. Such a disappointment on what used to be a really good pizza chain.
