A good friend of mine, who's lashes always look amazing, was telling me how much she loves Jasmine. I have been wanting to get my lashes done for a long time, but was worried after hearing stories about eye infections and seeing other people with some pretty gnarly lashes. I decided to get them done for my wedding and was so lucky that Jasmine had an appointment available the day before I left! She was very sweet and nice. She explained to me all the different lash options and when I told her what I wanted my lashes to look like on my wedding she gave me a clear recommendation which was the 2-3x volume lashes. My eyes are pretty big and I have a ton of lashes and the appointment took about 2.5 hours in total. Jasmine never complained or seemed to rush. She painstakingly applied every lash and they came out looking amazing. My lashes looked amazing the day of my wedding. The main reason I wanted to get lash extensions was because I knew I was going to cry like crazy the whole day and didn't want mascara running down my face. These lashes looked better than mascara ever could and I got nothing but compliments from all my friends and family. My lashes actually looked pretty good for the seven weeks after my appointment. I was careful to follow Jasmine's instructions on care and they held up extremely well. I would lose 1 or 2 every day, but because I had so many it never looked too splotchy. I didn't get back in time to do a fill because I was traveling for several months after my wedding and she is really hard to get an appointment with! If you are lucky enough to get in then book your next appointment well in advance. I wish she was in San Francisco because I would get my lashes done by her all the time. I've become a lash geek, so I've done extensive research. Not every lash tech knows how to do volume lashes, but I've learned that not every volume lash artist is at the same level either! CONSULTATION: Her consultations are thorough where she takes the time to show different lengths, curls, colors, and thickness of lashes in addition to pictures in order to customize your extensions to your style preference. Definitely no one size fits all approach. SAFETY: Being that extensions are applied near the eye, it is important for a lash artist to practice safe procedures in addition to maintaining the integrity of natural lashes. Extensions should be properly isolated so that natural lashes are not glued together, which causes irritation and loss of at least one lash due to different growth rates. She doesn't overuse glue; enough for the lashes to last, but not too much as to add extra weight which will cause damage to natural lashes. SKILL AND APPLICATION: She's had close to a decade of lashing experience and owns popular lashing salons in Taiwan. She attends lash conventions, won competitions, gets certified multiple times to learn new techniques, trains others for certification, and judges competitions! For volume application, meticulous time is spent to fan them out evenly, which takes practice and experience for nice fans. LONG LASTING: The extensions are placed right near the base of the natural lash (not touching the skin of course) so that you don't look like you need a fill already a week later. This is a skill that also comes with practice and experience. While retention varies with client care, she also isn't lazy with applying extensions to nearly every lash and uses a good glue with proper application technique, which allows the lashes to look better longer. Jasmine is AWESOME! I recently moved to CA and needed to find someone to do my lashes here. I bought a Groupon for a lady in Santa Clara that did a TERRIBLE job. My eyes were so irritated and I was very upset. I went onto Yelp and found Jasmine. I am SOOOO happy I contacted her. We had a long conversation before I even booked my appointment with her. When I got to her place she sat me down and asked me what I was looking for etc. The consultation was about 10 minutes. She showed me all of the options and really took time to understand what I wanted. Her prices are very competitive with the other salons out there but the service you get from her goes above and beyond. She was very thorough and taught me how to take care of them after. She even checked in with me to see how my lashes were doing a few days later. If you are going to invest in a set of eyelashes or even get a fill I would highly recommend Jasmine. I have been getting my 4D volumes lashes done in Canada for 2 years and then when I moved to California I was in dying need to find a lash tech that can deliver the same results! I found many good techs that could do okay jobs on volume lashes but they were never that great. I have very sparse and weak lashes that need a lot of work and attention. I am so grateful that I found Jasmine!! I drive an hour to see her every 3 weeks. She is by far the best volume eyelash extension ARTIST!!!! I get compliments everywhere I go even from TSA at the airport!! She is definitely on the high end in terms of pricing, and work, but let me tell you, every cent is worth it. I asked her if she was the only person who does the extensions and I've yet to receive a response from her. I see so many other girls who also do them, but Jasmine is the only one who has any contact info. Ignoring potential clients is no way to run a business. Childish. I received a message from Jasmine after writing the review which is why I changed my star rating, but I have also received messages from her minions about my original review. She is very knowledgeable and she educated me during our 20 minutes consultation, I felt smarter after the consultation and I understand better now what's defferent between her and those cheap deals that they always have on Groupon. Jasmine is my new eyelash girl, for life! I found her on Yelp after doing lots of searches for reasonably priced extensions--it seemed like there were only expensive fancy ones priced at $200 upwards, or the existing reasonably priced places were terrible. I almost gave up hope and was about to shell out $250 for a set. When you first arrive she will do a consultation going over lash length, thickness and curl. She'll ask what kind of design you're looking for--other places only asked me if I wanted a natural or more dramatic look and that was it. She actually uses varying lash lengths for the different sides of your eyes (inner corners have shorter lashes), or whatever you request. I got the classic - dramatic set, which is classic extensions but with more eyelashes to look fuller/more voluminous. She even knows how to do Russian volume technique--she is truly a lash artist. The appointment was soothing and painless--other places I've been to, the glue would burn my eyes. Jasmine is so sweet, easy to talk to and accommodating. You can e-mail, text or call her.
