Hibiscus Punch
Fran P.

I wanted a ramen bowl and I heard good things about this restaurant. I went on a Saturday in the mid afternoon. I dined in and had the mushroom dumplings, the house special bowl, and a hibiscus drink. The dumplings were so good I forgot to take a picture. The noodle dish was good and flavorful. All of the items came out hot and fast. The server was nice and attentive. The atmosphere is yellow and the windows are huge so you can have a view of the outside while eating.

Vegan Pho

You were looking for some Asian food in the area and found this place. We loved that they had vegan options and a lot of vegetarian selections. We were very happy with all of our dishes. The service staff here is very very nice and attentive. The green matcha tea was delicious. They seem to do a lot of takeout orders and had good amount of seating inside. we will return again.

Spicy Shrimp ramen
Heather M.

Ordered the spicy shrimp ramen with added tofu and mushrooms . It was very flavorful and with a hint of spicy (to my taste buds) also tried the Chicken wonton - the chicken was tender inside and it came with a Chilli sauce to dip them in. I've been to a few ima locations and am pleased that I haven't been let down with the quality of the food or service.

The fry appetizer, so good

Part of a little strip mall area, but truly a hidden gem in Madison heights. Definitely recommend trying to get there early for dinner as the place fills up fast with regulars. Some tasty and ingredient filled ramen dishes. The fry appetizer is so good and you can even get a fun sake souvenir glass. Quick and casual food service but still very much a sit down establishment. Fun spot with good food. Good for a casual date or a meal with a small group of friends.

Now this place is fantastic went in to get sushi but they don't serve sushi at all only ramen. The guy at the host desk which I got the feeling was the owner or manager was so nice . He explained they don't serve sushi just ramen and recommended a sushi place for me. Which I thought was so nice and genuine. He then told me when you're ready for ramen come back to me. So I did and when I say this is the place to stop for ramen. It was so fresh and delicious. Located in a pretty big shopping center by target off John r. My favorite ramen spot now. Not a very big place but just the right size! It's a must stop and try. The only Con is I wish they also served sushi lol.

I have had the corktown location multiple times and love it! Decided to come here after work with some co workers for happy hour and the food did not disappoint. The waiter was friendly and very helpful with answering all of our questions. The restaurant is a bit small but not bad for a weekday.

Tori Paitan Ramen

Food- we loved the ramen here. We got the tori paitan with ginger chicken and the hot chicken karaage ramen. The spicy chicken ramen was extra extra spicy, so spicy lovers beware. It was much spicier than comparable spicy chicken ramens in metro Detroit. The tori paitan broth was very rich and flavorful. Ambiance- the restaurant is clean, and decor is simple. They have ample outdoor patio seating. Service- there really is not service from a server like at a regular restaurant. Someone comes to take your order, someone else to deliver the food. We were waiting to pay for a long time, it was confusing and we almost got up and walked around looking for a staff member. It was Saturday and seemed a bit busy, so maybe it is that. Location- next to 168 Asian market, tiger sugar boba, and Yugo asian lifestyle, they have the perfect location. Overall, we liked our experience here and are likely to be back soon!

Amazing ramen here and great sides like karaage and buns. The spicy chicken karaage was excellent. They also have a rad dessert called berries and cream that is cream, corn flakes and berries plus honey - it's pretty bomb. Relatively roomy interior and excellent, very attentive service. Also located in Madison Heights, near the 168 Asian Mart. Also related to the other Ima chains near Wayne State and in Corktown. Highly recommended!

Spicy Pork Tonkotsu Ramen. Spiciness was about a 70 on a scale from 1-100. Bring your hankies! :-). Sofaking goood.

I stay in Madison Heights for business sporadically. I am so pumped there's a ramen cafe here. It's not pretentious or exclusive. Prices are quite fair for what they offer. Three sake selections, too! Not too loud, perfect for date night or dinner with your posse. I dare say it is kid friendly :-). I could not resist getting the spicy pork ramen (Tonkatsu). I also tried the shiitake mushroom bao buns. WOW so yummy. Servers are so friendly. I'll be back for sure.

Seafood spicy kimchi udon

I have been here twice. Once a couple years ago and once again yesterday. Both times I left feeling the same about the restaurant. Good food. Way overpriced. For two bowls of noodles (no sides, no drinks), our bill landed over $50 (we did tip). And for $50 we weren't even seated at a table, we had to sit at a counter which generally is fine but no wait staff checked in on us and the chairs are extremely uncomfortable. Had to hunt people down for water multiple times. The hostess was nice but other than that service was lacking. We ordered from a QR code at our counter. The food itself was yummy. I had a spicy seafood kimchi udon and the husband had a spicy pork tonkatsu ramen (but actually subbed udon). Honestly the food presentation and taste was fine i just felt like with the amount of food they give its not worth the over $20 per bowl. I would expect that for airport prices but not at a noodle shop. Sometimes places will have a higher price point for food if the atmosphere is elevated or the vibes are meant to be appreciated. This didn't really honestly didn't seem like the case here at this restaurant. I think there are just as fine noodle restaurants in the area with more better seating, better service, and at a way cheaper price point. I would come back if other people wanted to go bc the food is good but it wouldn't be my first choice in the area.

We love going to ima for a late date night! We usually go to the one in midtown, the environment is great down there and while the food was still great here i feel like the locations downtown are more inviting! Our server was so sweet and kind but the atmosphere felt off!

It's been a minute since I've been to Ima and back in the day (pre pandemic and not at this location), I only tried their udon and thought it was pretty good for the D! I was in the area and was craving noods so decided to stop in at Ima. It's in the 168 plaza. Appreciate that Ima is super solo dining friendly - bar tops as well as some "half picnic" tables where 2 can sit by side outside. Also, you can just order with Toast with the QR code which makes for a pretty seamless experience. While there was happy hour (daily M-F from 3-6pm, yep even on Labor Day!), I decided to show restraint and not over order for myself. So I ended up getting: * Pickle Plate - love me a good pickle plate. All was pretty good from the shiitake to the curried pickled cauli. * Spicy Tonkatsu: I added extra egg without realizing it came with a jammy egg already! Wasn't mad about it though. The broth is pretty thick and flavorful. I was worried that the ramen would be super soggy but it wasn't. It was a touch more cooked than I prefer (I like springy al denteness) but there wasn't an option to customize that. All in all, I still smashed the whole bowl and the entire pickle plate. There's soo many options in Troy but happy to see ima thriving with good quality!

Pork Tonkotsu Ramen (back) and Spicy Pork Udon (front)
Sabrina S.

I had heard good things about Ima and wanted to give it a try! We ordered the Spicy Pork Udon and the Pork Tonkatsu Ramen. I would say between the two DEFINITELY go for the Pork Tonkatsu Ramen. The smoked pork belly was tender and absolutely delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not overdone. The udon dish was just okay for me. It tasted good but I probably wouldn't order again and opt to try something new!

This sushi place came up and seemed to have really good reviews. So, I stopped in and was pleasantly surprised. It's in a rather quiet strip mall with a Holiday market, coffee shop and a few other stores so that was very convenient. Walking in the place was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. There was only one man working who was actually making the sushi and no servers, which I found odd. He eventually came over and took my order after delivering the dish he was preparing from behind the counter. He was super nice and friendly, but odd that they didn't have anyone else working. The menu has a decent selection of items but limited on appetizers. No soups were available on the menu, which kind of bummed me out. (I like Miso soup, but also enjoy others if they had them!) No crab rangoons. Just some salads and edamame. I got a sushi roll (don't ask which one, I forgot) and it was quite excellent and filling. Large portion, tasted delicious and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality as well. Overall not a bad place to eat, conveniently located off 14 mile making it easy in and easy out back to the expressway to continue on my journey downtown! They just need a formal server here to keep things moving.

My favorite was the Korean short ribs the flavor was ok not the best I have had but for a Buffett pretty good. They were constantly running out of these. They also have full head on fried shrimp, they had shrimp cocktail and garlic shrimp. Surprisingly the crab they offer was stone crab, but not just the claws the whole crab. Shocked to see this offered over snow crab. Snow crab and lobster can be purchased separately per pound. The worst part of the Buffett had to be the dim sum. Everything was a miniature version of what you get at most dim sum places. The dessert area was very good lots of cakes, fruit, and ice cream that is offered.
