They have outside seating, but I like sitting inside for the cozy feeling and I like their decor. I recommend getting their pre fixe menu because you get to try different things. It doesn't disappoint. The portions are generous and it's great for sharing. The menu does change and it's nice to get food that's in season. I still think of the cod and potatoes I had here.

Less than half a mile away from Radhuspladsen is this fantastic restaurant that serves smørrebrød of a wide assortment, meat and potatoes, and beer. They have all sorts of things on their menu: salad, burger, shellfish, veal, beef, fish, chicken, and pork. After eating smørrebrød a few times, I was ready for a a heavy meal with meat and potatoes. Filet de Bœuf with Purée de Pommes de Terre: This hit the spot. Presentation was simple yet amazing. Piped potato purée that's been baked/ torched for texture and color. In the middle it beef that was cooked perfectly (so it was tender, juicy and locked in its natural flavor), and slices of butter. 5/5 Service was great and attentive. The interior is quite spacious yet has a relaxed vibe.

Located near old town Christiana, two Michelin star restaurant Kadeau Copenhagen is an offshoot of an original location in Bornholm. Much of the food and produce for this menu still comes from Bornholm, grounding the New Nordic, seafood-focused menu in a sense of place. I typically prefer an evening reservation, but lunch is what fit into my schedule on this day and I can't imagine a more perfect timing to see the ethereal, artistic dining room in the natural sunlight. The dining room reminded me a bit of being inside Musée de l'Orangerie's Waterlilies exhibit: it's a truly meditative setup. The service from start to finish is truly unreal, and rivals three star restaurants I have been to. Every small touch is made for you to enjoy your experience. Shout out to one of the chefs who tipped off the other restaurant I was dining at on the same day, who greeted me and asked me about my experience at Kadeau when I arrived there. I came for the start of Growing Season in May 2025. For this meal, I chose the non-alcoholic pairing, which I could not possibly recommend enough. It was hands down, the most perfect flavor pairing for the food I have ever had and each new drink was more inventive and fun than the last. The sourcing from Bornholm really played well here, as a lot of similar ingredients from a dish became part of the drink (lot of plum notes when I went). I think my favorites were the Japanese Quince, Hemp, and Honey (which had just a light effervescence) or the Apple and Unfiltered Bee Pollen drink. But honestly, I would go and do this meal all over again for the unreal drink pairing alone. I do a lot of fine dining and always enjoy my meals, but Kadeau was one of the first meals where I felt like I did not have a single bad or even middling bite out of the 15 courses. I have dietary restrictions (no red meat), but few dishes really required substitution. Each new dish was light, flavorful, nuanced, and so so delicious. The shrimps tart with quince and ants was a bit more adventurous than what I normally go for, but ended up being one of my favorite bites. The hot and cold smoked salmon was a dish I'll remember forever and I loved hearing that the chef moved from Las Vegas to Copenhagen just to learn how to make that dish. The plum "soft serve" with plum oil, vinegar, schnapps/ caramel, was such a great example of how inventive they could be with truly all of the elements that build flavor. It was a once in a lifetime meal. This is certainly an expensive meal, but in a city with a lot of tasty meals to choose from, Kadeau is one to truly remember.

A foodie friend, who travels the world just to eat at Michelin restaurants, told me he enjoyed his experience here better than Noma. So I marked my calendar for the day summer reservations were released and got a seating. We had a lovely table by the window, where I could see some of the kitchen activity. The chefs all seemed so calm & professional, and the servers were outstanding. The set menu was incredible, and my husband did the wine pairing, which he really enjoyed. A lot of spectacular seafood. Stunning presentations and incredible attention to detail. Besides the food being unbelievable, it was such a fun experience!! We had a lot of questions, and our servers couldn't have been nicer! They brought out ingredients that we were unfamiliar with, so we could see them. They let us taste a fresh herb (not exciting) and then the dried version (amazing!) When we left, everyone was waiting for us and we got a wonderful photo. We will never forget this spectacular meal!

Most of the dishes contained contrasting flavors and textures. Although all dishes were good, there was not any that made me want to return to have another serving (1/2 star off). I did think the squash sorbet with parsley crumble was a notably unique dessert and wanted to highlight that as the favorite course of the meal. Staff was friendly and service was attentive. I wished they provided spoons with more dishes though (1/2 star off). Most of their dishes came with a decent amount of sauce or foam. I wanted to scoop them up, but didn't end up bothering because I didn't have a spoon. Yes, I know I could have asked for an additional spoon each time. I just wanted to dive into the dish right away. Loved that Alexander was our server since he was quite informative about the food and provided further insight about local culture. It was nice that we had a private room upstairs which looks like it was a house. Our outdoor view included an inner courtyard. The standard is 2 hours to complete the meal. Some additional charges to keep in mind are for water and non-local credit card use. There's a charge of $45 DKK per person for both still and sparking water. Not sure about credit card. This was around 4:13 pm on a Saturday. We order three smorrebrod and we ate them in the Tivoli food hall. All were served on plates. The correct way to eat was with a fork and knife as we learned while watching an episode of Somebody Feed Phil. The chicken salad was undoubtedly our favorite. Lots of shredded chicken but overall smooth and tasty. We crumbled the bacon to add some texture and that was even better. The marinated salmon was ok but we liked the nice pop of flavor from the pomegranate seeds. I may try to add them at home to my smoked salmon. The egg and shrimp smorrebrod was tastier. We returned our empty plates back to the counter when we were finished. Not completely in love with open face sandwiches but may try again on a future return trip to Copenhagen.

You can find Hallernes on the fifth floor of the shopping mall. We got there later in the day and there was still an array of toast options - some vegetarian, others pescatarian and others with a heaping of meat on top. We enjoyed the tartar, lemon & dill shrimp and the traditional pork toast. Each was somehow better than the next. Everything was so fresh which really enhanced the contrast of flavors on our plates. We liked it so much we contemplated going back and ordering more! We sat in the dining area to eat, which had a high chair available. We also got a window seat which had a beautiful view of the square below and some stunning architecture. We sat there for awhile just enjoying the view. When we were flying out of the Copenhagen airport we noticed this same restaurant inside one of the terminals. It's awesome to see such high quality food be offered in such casual but busy spaces. We'll definitely be back!

We tried Grød at two locations: the Torvehallerne market and at 7Eleven. The market, I ordered the Oat Porridge which came with apples, roasted almonds and caramel sauce, my mom had the All In! and my dad had the oat waffle. All of us (mostly) left satisfied. My picky father loved his waffle. And I really enjoyed the porridge I had. The oats perfectly cooked, the apples and almonds gave it a nice textural contrast. Plus the caramel, which was more like a dulce de leche added the perfect amount of sweetness without being too sweet. My mom was a bit ambivalent because the All In was too sweet. But to be fair, All In includes all of their toppings. Including chocolate and caramel so her assessment was fair! The Grød at 7Eleven had this wonderful chia pudding, layered with yogurt, natural peanut butter, a berry compote and nuts and I was obsessed. So simple, yet so wholesome. I found a cup at the airport and proceeded to import it back to the States. Overall, it was definitely worth a visit (or 2) to have my mind blown. Grød may not have intended it but this lil Westerner is now leveling up her oats game thanks to their menu!
