Fantastic all around experience from food to service. Unlike many fine dining establishments, wow factor not limited to a couple showpiece dishes in tasting. There is surprise and delight in every single dish. Didn't meet the head chef but did get to tour the restaurant kitchens and wine cellar.

Geranium felt like stepping into a bright, Danish fever dream and then discovering the dream has narrative continuity. Our lunch was the Summer Universe and it read exactly like that: a long, carefully paced procession that kept unfolding without ever losing its line. The room is high and light, with treetops and sky out the windows, and the mood is serene rather than hushed. It is Scandinavian-clean, beautifully calm, and deeply hospitable. What I loved most was how wildly novel the plates looked while tasting unmistakably Danish and, crucially, delicious. So much fine dining leans on visual pyrotechnics that don't add up in the mouth. Here the compositions are exotic to look at yet coherent on the palate. The opening bites arrived like little botanical studies, complete with a glossy leaf lattice and tiny flowers you actually want to eat. A luminous orange bowl stippled with roe tasted of pure sea and sun, bright but not sugary, depth without weight. Those translucent red "petals" arranged in a pale lactic pool were a small masterclass in contrast, delicate and mineral with a gentle creaminess that carried the finish. There was a spoon course suspended in a clear, aromatic broth, dotted with tiny spheres and root coins that made their knife work obvious, and a garden plate where herbs, vegetables, and blossoms ringed an herb emulsion while a copper filigree tuile added crunch without noise. A dish veiled by an herb-flecked coin of cream looked almost abstract until you tasted how exact the seasoning was. At one point caviar arrived on featherlight slips over a glass plate streaked like a painter's palette. Every one of these moments felt playful and novel while staying legible and balanced. The technique is virtuosic and quiet. Sauces have line and length. Salt is in check. Acidity is tuned so that seafood and vegetables speak clearly. Nothing is there to show off. Everything is there to make the main idea ring. It is rare to see this much visual invention in the service of flavor rather than at its expense. Service was equally on point. Polished, warm, and genuinely proud of the house. Our server was charming, impossibly energetic, and after lunch he led us on a tour of the kitchens and cellar, narrating the flow with the delight of someone who actually loves his job. His maroon suit was smashing and now lives in my memory as part of the restaurant's color palette. The whole team kept a four-hour lunch buoyant. Courses and "satellites" kept arriving at the exact moment you were ready for the next idea, which is harder than it looks. Even the framing details felt considered. The seasonal "universe" gives you a theme without confining the cooking. The pairing programs are curated rather than showy, and there is a clear sustainability thread that reads as Danish common sense rather than branding. It is a long meal, yes, but it moves. You never feel stuck. You feel carried. Photos can capture the beauty of the plates but not the quiet confidence behind them. Geranium is exotic in look and feel, deeply Danish in temperament and flavor, and composed with the kind of discipline that makes novelty taste inevitable. A world-class experience, and an easy five stars.

With three Michelin stars, Geranium is more than just a dining experience, it's a whole evening of affairs and intrigue. My spouse and I went during our honeymoon though prior to this, we had to book a reservation three months in advance. The restaurant is situated on the 8th floor of the Parken stadium however on arrival, the staff met us at the first floor elevator to greet us and take us up. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and showed us to our table which was close by to the kitchen, with a clear view of the chefs preparing each dish. To start the night, we ordered a non-alcoholic sparkling tea that was delicious and light. Shortly after that we were presented with a wax sealed menu, and given the option to either open and view what was on the menu that night or have each dish be a surprise. We decided to open up the menu and were excited for what was to come. Our meal consisted of 4 appetizers, 6 savory servings, and 5 sweet servings. My spouse and I also chose to do the fruit and vegetable juice pairing to complement our food. The level of presentation that went into each dish and drink was astonishing. Every dish was visually pleasing, and unique in taste and flavor. Also to note, their menu is pescatarian so the only meat incorporated into their dishes is fish. I did feel that towards the end of the savory presentations I'd reached my limit with fish and found myself just sampling the dishes at that point rather than finishing everything on my plate. Between the savory and sweet servings my spouse and I were invited on a tour of the wine cellar, back kitchen, and private dining space. It was a nice break in the meal and we even got to see a glimpse of the soccer stadium from the 8th floor. If I could change anything about my experience I would have not done the juice pairing because having a small appetite, I was feeling very full by the end of the meal and couldn't finish all my deserts (which are usually my favorite part of any meal). In total we were there from about 6pm to 10:30pm. We were sent home with a goodie bag with bottled fruit juices and the staff called a taxi for us to take back to our hotel. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience, the food alone was incredible but the friendly staff and chefs made it all the more special by carefully explaining each dish to us and making us feel welcome during our time there. If you find yourself in Copenhagen and want to experience some of the best fine dining, Geranium is certainly the place to do so.

Geranium blows other three Michelin-starred restaurants out of the water! The service is warm, the food is both precise yet manages to let the individual ingredients shine, and the entire experience is breathtaking.

Great experience at geranium. Being one of two of the best of the best restaurants in cph, I had to do here and noma in the same trip. The setting is in a beautiful open kitchen. When choosing your sears, the fire side seats are high top stools in the back of the restaurant where you can people watch, regular tables in the open dining room, and the kitchen table off to the side. The fire side seats were where we chose which was cozy and dimly lit, but the high top chairs were uncomfortable. As a whole, service was sharp and on point. Food solid with no bad dishes but only a couple of dishes that I would count as iconic. Geranium definitely plays it safe with very beautiful plating and artsy crisps. Is it the best meal we ve had? No but was it good and worth the experience? Yes. Worth a try if you are going to cph but definitely not a place to build a trip around.

First, the (not so easy) logistics: Geranium is among the highest in-demand places in Copenhagen (along with Alchemist), and deservedly so... Booking a table here takes some perseverance, patience, and skill. The slots for a specific date open 3 months in advance, and you can reserve a table through their website. Assuming you've managed to secure a spot, you will be rewarded. Every bite showing up on the table throughout the evening was art in an edible form, and the flavors were simply unmatched. The Geranium team somehow managed to amplify the natural beauty of each ingredient in a stunning presentation. So I am not at all surprised that they retained their 3 stars in the 2023 Michelin guide. The team is super friendly and welcoming. At the same time, the service to me felt a little less polished compared to a few other places (the already mentioned Alchemist being my personal golden standard for a perfectly choreographed meal). Outside of that, it was a perfect night. All in all, definitely worth it. This place would be a great choice for a special event, celebration, or a(n elevated) date night.

World-class and well-deserving of their accolades. I dined here twice, once in March 2022 and once in May 2023. The first time was better, and there were noticeable changes between my visits: 23 dishes in 2022 vs 18 dishes in 2023. The price also went up about 30%, which is not surprising given they gained the #1 spot on 50 Best between my visits. Still, an extraordinarily elevated dining experience with excellent service, awesome views & ambiance, and world-class food. The non-alcoholic drink pairing was excellent as well, as are their cocktails and drink options. On the menu you might be hesitant with things like snail eggs, or scallop roe, or words in Danish that you don't know. But nothing tasted "out there", and everything was delicious, if not pleasant at worst. The tour of the kitchen towards the end of our meal was smooth and easy, and it was really cool to see the back kitchen with a unique view of the stadium. For reservations, I booked the table right when they're released, 6PM Copenhagen time 3 months in advance, and got a prime time in early evening. If you want a larger party, it's helpful to call if the option isn't available online, that's how a few friends and I got a table for my first visit. Getting there is easy via the metro plus a short walk (though if you're wearing heels, might not be the best option). On the way back to our hotel, we opted for a taxi which they can call for you. Copenhagen is exceptionally safe regardless, so taking the metro back at night is totally fine. And you get a nice take-home goody bag with some of their beer! Tip: get the tea and coffee! It's a really cool table-side preparation experience. And definitely let them know if you're celebrating something, the cake they provide is next-level. Plus if it's a birthday, you get a fun experience of singing happy birthday with a Danish flag.

Amazing. Lunch here was a highlight of my trip. The hours flew by. Service was impeccable. The space is beautiful, the food was beautiful. I highly recommend adding this to your not to miss in Copenhagen list. I feel so lucky to have gotten off the wait list.

It took me the first hour to not be in shock coming to Geranium. We sat by the kitchen and watched all of the miracle workers create tiny delicacies of the finest ingredients. I promise not to list the entire menu of the 20 courses plus wine because you should experience it yourself, and not through me. I budgeted for the hefty price tag, and it was worth the experience. The beautiful mini masterpieces, the ambiance, and the waitstaff contributed to an unforgettable 4.5-hour experience. I felt how royalty or super-rich people might feel getting treated with the utmost luxury. It was fun to play the role, and still, be me during the experience. It is understandable why this place is considered the best restaurant in the world in 2022. Everything matched up with my expectations. Please come here, even if it takes saving up the funds as I did, or putting it on your bucket list for many years from now. Everyone should experience this delicious and one-of-a-kind gastro adventure.

fantastic meal at geranium. The food is precise, sauces are wonderful, plating is exquisite. The space is so beautiful, the service is warm and friendly, love the tour of the whole restaurant. There were some extended periods between courses, but overall not bad and wasn't overly long.

As of this year, 2022, this is known as the best restaurant in the world! Click here for our full YouTube video experience on the restaurant https://youtu.be/j2rpYpoQDdc To start off, I want to say that this was such a beautiful and lovely experience. From the moment you walk into the restaurant, until the moment you leave you're taken care of by the incredibly friendly and welcoming team at Geranium! The service and attention it nearly perfect, and what you'd hope for at a 3 star / best restaurant in the world. As for the food, we were presented with some of the most beautiful dishes we've ever seen. The attention to detail is immaculate, artistic and you almost feel guilty taking a bite. This is the first year the menu is meat-free, focusing on vegetarian and seafood based meals. The reason we give this restaurant a 4 star, rather than a 5 star is because of the lack of depth and richness you get from some meat dishes. Don't get me wrong, they were able to transform these mostly-vegetarian dishes into the most delicious bites, however, it was a very 'clean' tasting menu. Each bite was fresh, delicious, but we felt the menu as a whole lacked a bit of that umami depth you get with meat accompaniments. The restaurant is also quite simple in design and aesthetic. I'd say it's a minimalistic and nordic based design, which is stunning, but again, for the best restaurant in the world it lacked a of that 'wow' factor you'd expect for the best. Overall, still an amazing experience to be able to eat such creative and beautiful dishes and meeting the amazing team behind Geranium! Would still recommend as an over experience based restaurant :) If you make it to Geranium, come say hi on our YouTube page, would love to hear your feedback and experience :) @s3bts

What an exciting and enchanting dinner experience my wife and I had!! We thought it a little unusual that the restaurant is in an obscure office building at the edge of a large park. But, once inside the restaurant, which occupies the entire top floor of the 8 story building, we were completely removed from the outside and were immersed in what would present itself to us...being seated at the front and center of the dining room enabled to watch the dozen chefs perform their work for our culinary enjoyment for the next 4 1/2 hours. Great presentation of menu, and exquisite food and service ensued. We typically do not order the accompanying wine pairing, as we instead ordered one glass of various wines that we shared with each dish, enabling us to select exactly what we wanted, and additionally taste more wines. Of course the chefs were most accommodating to my wife's dietary restrictions, either by slightly modification the ingredients, or making a completely unique dish. Twelve courses, of which four were dessert, and 10 glasses of wine later which we shared, we were filled both in sublime satisfaction and capacity to consume more. We had an extensive tour of the entire establishment, including the wine cellar, curing room, private dining room and prep kitchen which further enhanced our experience. Though dinner is pricey at 5200 DKK for two fixe prix, plus wines cost of approximately 2600 DKK per couple, this was an experience I would recommend to others and seek to repeat on a future visit!!!

This restaurant is set on the top floor (8th) in a nondescript plain looking office building. You get a beautiful view of the park. I love that the kitchen is open and you can see everything they're doing. All of the food was creative and beautiful as well as healthy and fresh. The deserts were very good too and seemed endless. The only complaint is that I wish they had bowls and plates that were better suited to scrape up every drop of the sauces.

We tried Grød at two locations: the Torvehallerne market and at 7Eleven. The market, I ordered the Oat Porridge which came with apples, roasted almonds and caramel sauce, my mom had the All In! and my dad had the oat waffle. All of us (mostly) left satisfied. My picky father loved his waffle. And I really enjoyed the porridge I had. The oats perfectly cooked, the apples and almonds gave it a nice textural contrast. Plus the caramel, which was more like a dulce de leche added the perfect amount of sweetness without being too sweet. My mom was a bit ambivalent because the All In was too sweet. But to be fair, All In includes all of their toppings. Including chocolate and caramel so her assessment was fair! The Grød at 7Eleven had this wonderful chia pudding, layered with yogurt, natural peanut butter, a berry compote and nuts and I was obsessed. So simple, yet so wholesome. I found a cup at the airport and proceeded to import it back to the States. Overall, it was definitely worth a visit (or 2) to have my mind blown. Grød may not have intended it but this lil Westerner is now leveling up her oats game thanks to their menu!

YES TWO AM!!…read moreAs someone who was rushing from the airport after landing at 1012pm, I truly appreciated that a local spot was still open... even though the streets were empty and we were the only table. I ordered the DANISH NATIONAL DISH and FRIED LIVER (I believe they are #19 and #20 on the menu). Interestingly, the server recommended something similar (another pork belly dish) over the national dish; stating it tastes much better and much softer... which I probably should have went with this recommendation since the national dish was TOUGH AS BONES. It wasn't crispy, chewy, or tasty. It was simply inedible. One couldn't even chew or cut through the meat... the side of skin on mini/small potatoes were simply boiled. The beet dish was delicious. The sauce didn't have much flavor (crazy how extra sauce costs 35 DKK more). The VEAL LIVER dish tasted better than the national dish ironically. Gave a tremendous portion. The potatoes were skinned. The gravy had some taste compared to the other sauce from the national dish. Decadent pickled cucumbers which provided a nice palate cleanser. Mushrooms gave a nice chew, a much appreciated and welcomed different texture. ***the bread given was not good at all*** ***it seems that water, even if it's from the sink or obviously bottled by them, costs money in any establishment*** SERVICE: Kind. Attentive. Enthusiastic. Spirited. Happy. Since it was our first meal in Copenhagen we were a tad blown away by the price tag of each meal to the point we thought it was a meal set. The server calmed down those nerves and reassured us that all dishes on the menu were à la carte. Loved the small talk he attempted :) VIBEZ: Still had Christmas/holiday decor haha. Great for a night out/date. Casual with a sprinkling of fine dining. No service fees included in the bill. Great for large groups. Located in the city. Didn't have a car; therefore, I cannot vouch for parking. Close walk from/to the metro though! Would I come back? No, but I am elated I can cross off trying the danish national dish on my bucket list. :)

There were outside tables, but it was a bit chilly, so we opted for the nearly deserted inside restaurant. We had a table near the window, so it was a great view. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the service was very friendly. I ordered the gravlax open-faced sandwich, which is smoked salmon (very similar to lox) on an excellent sour dough bread. I opted to skip the mustard sauce, but the sandwich was perfect. My wife had the potato open-faced sandwich, which consisted of new potatoes, organic rye bread, lemon mayonnaise (romaleid), fried onions and pickled pearl onions. She really enjoyed it, along with her Spritz drink. Denmark seems to be one of those countries, where you cannot order tap water. Fair enough. However, our water consisted of an open carafe (which I'm sure was tap water), for which we were charged 50 Krona ($8). This seems high for tap water.

In my opinion, pick a trap with friendly inviting and help staff... not unless you like it that way!
