Better be famished...
Adrian B.

We decided to try some old favourites; its a while ago since we've been here Again, we sat outside - a lovely September evening...luckily no smokers, even though it was pretty busy (we had booked well in advance, but were given the choice of in or out) We ordered a Cotes du Rhone, 2 wienerschnitzels, and a citron fromage...(1,180dk) The service was good as was the food - but there was 1 problem - they were absolutely huge - you would have to be hungry...see photo. I thought mine a little tough, but maybe it was simply so thick... A very nice evening, unhurried

The food is solid. The roasted cauliflower is excellent. The schnitzel was very good as was the turbo was also very good. Service was very good. Seating is tight but OK. Would recommend for a reasonably price good dinner.

We went to Restaurant Puk in Copenhagen to have Smørrebrød. I selected sliced roasted pork with red cabbage and pickles. My wife picked a crab and shrimp topping. We shared tastes; my wife liked mine better than hers. We traded.

Phenomenal place , delicious food ! Great service , hard to find in the basement and it's small but we managed to get on without reservation ...

This place was highly rated on TripAdvisor, Google and also Yelp. A perfect place to sample many popular Danish foods. Made a reservation online and showed up a bit early and they took care of us from start to finish. We did the sampling menu and even though things were translated in English it they left out the spices and other important ingredients that really brought the taste out. They stacked a lot of items on the plates and was hard to get a good picture. Item after item was delectable, and stuffed myself so much had to walk many miles to burn that dinner off afterwards. My buddy was suffering too after eating so much. LOL Would for sure return to this place, prices weren't bad considering what you get. Service was spot on and never left us unattended.

Restaurant Puk was an amazing find; my compliments to Yelp, which lead us right to it :-) Tip: This restaurant has been here for a very long time, and the building it's in has been here even longer. If you ask the staff, they'll be happy to share the story of the building's history, which starts in the sixteenth century! The staff is very welcoming and friendly; they provided us with great service from the time we walked in the door until we left after a fabulous meal. That said the food is the star of the show here - everything we tried was nothing short of fabulous! The appetizers and the entrees were all exceptional - our server even recommended an amazing beer (Weissbeer) to enjoy with our meal. To sum it all up, This is a lovely spot for some very authentic danish cuisine. I highly recommend it, and look forward to returning the next time I'm in Copenhagen.

Very friendly service with menus in English (and other languages) from a staff who speak English (and other languages), I decided that PUK would be dinner tonight. I sat inside, which is the "basement" level. For starters, I chose the herring. They sure love their herring in Denmark and this was tasty. Underneath the sliced onions and the pile of dill, delicious herring. A good portion and tasty. For mains, the veal schnitzel. Yummy with boiled potatoes and peas. Huge piece of veal, very tender, and served with a nice bowl of gravy. Yummy! Beer, herring, veal. Excellent! I am a fan!

First meal I had in Copenhagen and it was a great introduction to Danish cuisine. We opted for the 2 person minimum dinner special that came with 3 different open face sandwiches. Roasted pork and red cabbage Bacon and duck liver. Grape and cheese It's very common to sit outside for food in the summer even at night. They have blankets here since it gets a bit chilly at night.

My boyfriend and I were seating outside, which was incredibly warm and comfortable. I ordered the herring curry and my boyfriend got the roast beef with a fried egg on top. Perhaps curry herring is prepared differently at every restaurant, but I did not enjoy the dish here. The spice completely overwhelmed the fish and the bread was too wet to consume. The roast beef was excellent and the egg was very complementary. It is the perfect protein dish. The pricing on the dishes are also quite hefty as the portions are underwhelming in size. Overall, it was okay.

I supposed we got what we wanted which was a Danish meal on the 1st night of our trip. We walked though the city center and found PUK on Yelp. What looked great on the posted photos was the roast pork. I will say the portion was very generous. The crispy rind and the fatty outer layer was nice and tender but I found the CW get portion of the roast to be a little tough and dry. Good thing our various plates came with many dipping sauces. The schnitzel was as expected though it was a little on the tough and dry side as well. Wife and I opted for the set menu where we got to try a variety of seafood and meat dishes. For those unfamiliar with danish cuisine and want to try a variety, this is an excellent option. We got to try the picked herring, smoked salmon, fried fish, liver pate as well as the roast pork. All were good and it was a lot of food. We sat outside and enjoyed people watching. The service was very good despite a busy evening. At a 1,000 DKK which translates to $160, it's a fairly pricy meal but I've found everything to be pricy here

09/07/17 King Christian VII and his mistress from the 19th century were often guests at this restaurant. According to their website this is one of the oldest restaurants in Copenhagen since 1750. My daughter got the pork meal with red cabbage. The oh's and ah's that came from her as she ate were to numerous to count. My son got the Salmon plate. He said it was the best salmon he has ever eaten. My husband was in love with the Veal Cutlet. The veal cutlet was amazing and my husband ate it all up. I was not feeling well and not very hungry I got the sausage platter and they brought me bread to use for open faced sandwiches with items from the platter. There were beets, pickles and hard salami's with mustard and other items. The food was good. The place was packed. It is a little hard to find as you walk down stairs in a basement style restaurant. The waiter was friendly and quick.

Really cozy spot. I had the mussels and the smoked salmon appetizer. Both are quite good. It seems like a beloved spot by the locals.

The antipasti, primi, and secondi, individually, were enough to earn this restaurant five stars. Together, each succeeding dish compounded our delight. And the dessert? I will probably never eat another flan as good as theirs. I know what you're thinking: "I came all the way to Copenhagen. Why would I choose an Italian restaurant?" Hey, good food is good food. Yelp already wrote the first line of the review for me…read more "Hmm...I have tried something better, elsewhere...." Then again, I didn't have much expectation when it comes to thai take away. I somehow believe the magical of Thai cuisine can only be enjoyed properly when served and shared over the table with friends and family. Fast food Thai? Then you have simply lost the golden touch. We ordered massaman curry and and phat kee mao that has a chilli mark on the side. While the curry has nice flavour to it, it was far too watery and the content of the curry was just shredded carrots, cashews and yes, the cubed tofu that was the main ingredient I chose. Not much to get excited about. The Phat Kee Mao was supposed to be spicy, but even my boyfriend who was sensitive to spicy food (although he is slowly trained to appreciate chili) was wondering about the chili sign on the menu. Again, overall flavour was nice, but it needed an extra kick to be called as Thai version of fried noodles. What gives two stars instead of one is that they cooked their food pretty fast, with the wok action and all, and that they were very friendly as well as the price. I, on the other hand, would continue the hunt over good Thai take away

Early signs of autumn foul weather made us crave a warm, healthy and tasty lunch. Being two undergrads, it also needed to be affordable. On this day, at lunch time peak hour, it was busy but still cosy and possible to have a conversation. For my second visit, I recommended this place to my other peer. We were in a rush but wasn't willing to compromise on the meal quality. I knew from the first visit that this place serves quick, affordable and healthy warm lunches and it was near the place we were rushing to, so it was a perfect option. On this day, we arrived just prior to the lunch time peak hour, so we had the place to ourselves which definitely eased facilitating our only 35 min. visit (entrance to exit). During both visits I thought I experienced some language differences when making the order, or maybe it was all due to my semi-impaired hearing. However, it didn't have any major influence on getting the order across as the meals on the menu are presented in the form of numbers and in Danish and English. I do agree, with some of the other reviews, that the flavour intensity isn't overwhelming which comes down to a personal preference. You could probably have a stronger flavoured option on the plentiful menu. Remember, I've only tried two. All in all, a very nice, convenient and small place if you're after a hot healthy and affordable lunch. I am thankful for places like this and will probably go there again when I have my way pass.

The bread with sunflower praline and apple hot sauce was a pleasant starter. The tapioca cracker, tuna with salsa is phenomenal. Try the ceviche for a tangy delight different than what you'll get elsewhere. The smoky cauliflower comes with an amazing mole reduction. Gem salad was simple, yet tasty, with local cheese and a bit of seaweed. The gambas (shrimp) are presented well, and flavorful but small (not much meat). This is made up for with the excellent grilled redfish Tikin-Xic, make-it-yourself tacos, with red salsa, refried beans, coriander, lime and homemade tortillas. Several dishes were moderately, and thankfully, spicy. Enough to fill you up or a light meal if you get a few. Dessert is a perfect balance between rich, velvety Grenache and ultra-fluffy, sweet guava sorbet on a crispy waffle biscuit. Decent beer and wine selection. I tried the 2016 Ritual Pinot Noir from Chile, but there is also a wine pairing that I will try next time to complete the experience. Staff is professional and friendly. Ambiance is young, inviting and simple. Place was busy (on a Wednesday) and rather small, so I was fortunate to get a spot at the bar as a walk-in. I recommend getting no before they decide to increase prices and you need weeks or months for a reservation. Kudos!

Honestly, it's just your typical coffee and sandwich stop shop. They are not coffee artists by any stretch of the imagination - but their location (en route to my office from the metro) and the fact that they provide caffeine to go (sometimes adding extra shots for free if I look particularly frazzled), makes them my favorite place in the whole of Copenhagen between the hours of 8-10am, Monday through Friday. They offer discounts for several of the business people in the area, which means I get a two kroner discount on my yogurt when I'm too lazy to make the exact same thing for myself at home for one quarter of the price. The less than two minutes I spend in here every morning waiting for them to make my coffee (an order they have memorized, by the way), is also the only opportunity I have to watch the Danish morning news programs, and while I never stick around to get the full story, I've seen less than two minutes of lots of interesting stuff, many times, without having to pay any cable bills. #winning
