Damn. So we're we're fancy enough to get to Noma but a local Scandinavian friend said "f**k that, go to Manfreds." I shook of the disappointment and went ahead and made a reservation for 2. We got to the restaurant and we're relieved at how unpretentious and casual it was, Phillip the Scandinavian Korean homie sat us at our table. He gave us a wine list of amazing natural wine but we were too lazy to choose so we took the wine tasting coarse, he warned us that if we weren't familiar with natural wine some of his selections were challenging and we pretty much told him we just got back from Lavant Comptoir from Paris and Wendy had us educated on natural wine. We also went for the tasting course because why the hell not. Everything was fucking amazing. Fresh, seasonal, simple and elegant in execution, casual in dining. I had to stand up a couple times to dance because it was amazing. The wines were funky and complex and the lettuce in Buerre Blanc was heavenly, the zucchini was bomb. Damn everything was incredible. They poured us a lot of wine and we must have eaten 8 courses of the best veggies I've ever had. Solid honeymoon dinner with my boo and it came out to about 550 each. The only real deal in copenhagen.

Items Selected: Housemade Organic Apple Juice Mirabelle Sourdough Poached Egg Yolk, Nettle, Cream, Sourdough Beef Tartare, Spinach, Egg Yolk, Bread Crumbs Chocolate Mousse, Olive Oil, Sea Salt, Cookies Cleverly describing itself as "(probably) the world's only veggie-focused restaurant famous for its raw meat" Manfreds proved to be an irresistible stop after lunch at Relæ, the 12-course "Experience" menu that is far lighter than it sounds leaving plenty of room to sit down at the bar for three plates including the signature Beef Tartare. A winner the Sustainable Restaurant Award in 2016, the same year its upscale sibling across the street earned the same and operating nearly 100% Organic from noon until 22h00 daily, Manfreds was opened nearly simultaneously with Relæ in 2010 as a casual concept focused on Food and Natural Wines, the menu offering anywhere from ten to twelve plates with all but the Beef and Sourdough prone to seasonal change. A partnership between Kim Rossen and Christian F. Puglisi, the latter slowly growing in influence to a near-noma level ever since branching off on his own, it was with the usually-busy space currently between lunch and dinner rushes that a seat was taken at the unoccupied bar where a lone server was busy washing glasses and replenishing bottles, questions about daily specials quickly answered and housemade Apple Juice served instead of Wine, the roasted Fruit still cloudy and entirely unsweetened which made for a pleasant sourness to pair with all three dishes. Offering copies of Puglisi's "Book of Ideas" as well as "Where to Eat Pizza" to browse as guests wait, information about Relæ's "Farm of Ideas" from which much of the previous meal's Produce was obtained also provided by a pamphlet, it was not long after ordering that a dish described as "Poached Egg Yolk, Nettle, Cream, Sourdough" was presented, the small pot aggressively priced at 75DKK for what was no more than three bites of herbal Pudding with a bit of texture added by Bread Crumbs while the "Medium" Beef Tartare with similar condiments was deep, musty and complex in nearly quadruple the portion for just 30 Krone more. Admittedly impressed by the Tartare, plenty of moisture present but not 'wet' like so many American versions thanks to the quality of the Beef, a thick grind and just enough Spinach to keep things from becoming too rich, it was without hesitation that a small pot of Chocolate Mousse was requested upon finishing one last slice of Mirabelle Sourdough, the short glass proving to be another worthy signature as the Dark Cocoa is well met by crumbled Milk Chocolate Cookies, a drizzle of Olive Oil and Sea Salt.

Love this place. The quality of food and experience you get here is highway robbery; by CPH standards anyways. Open Monday's, you can go for lunch and do the 5 course tasting for 195 kroner or 7 course at dinner for 285. The must add tartare is 105 for a medium. Similar offerings in CPH are 4x the price and not nearly as charming as Manfred's. The second time I went I simply had the large tartare that comes with the legitimately heavenly sourdough and was happy as a clam. This is a lot of food, in an intimate setting on one of the best streets in CPH. Please go here. I went twice (so far) on my visit.

After amazing meal at relae the night before had high expectations of this place as part of the same relae community. They get there food from same farms which means plenty of heirloom tomatoes. Somehow they fall short as every dish was a bit underwhelming. Pork terrine I think needed more time terrining, mackerel could have used a bit more time being seared and chicken sausage needed more seasoning. Our service was not good as had to wait awhile before finally having to do annoying thing of waving someone over. Had a couple good wines by glass but only 2 beers though had 6 tap system. Possible they use them for wines or sparkling tap water. I am giving them the benefit of doubt and assume the dishes were a bit off that night as know from previous night ingredients are top notch and amazing dishes can be made.

We are on vacation in Copenhagen and we decided to try Manfred's based on their focus on vegetables. My husband is a vegetarian and we decided on the vegetarian tasting menu. We thought this was a great culinary experience. I saw some of the reviews complaining that the vegetable dishes didn't have a lot of taste but we found the simplicity of these dishes to be just right. All the vegetables served came from their garden and our waitress, who was adorable and so helpful, and all the servers, were great about explaining each dish. We started with a gazpacho that was delicious with the perfect viscosity and flavor, served in a clear glass cup. It came with a dark bread that was also delicious. We were considering getting a second basket of the bread but thank goodness we didn't as we wound up being really full from all the dishes. They brought all the cold dishes out very quickly and we had a cucumber salad with quinoa, a summer salad, courgettes (zucchinis)that we're thinly sliced with figs (the figs didn't have a lot of taste but we loved their consistency) and a tomato salad with shiso, which were these rough textured lettuce leaves with a peppery taste. We enjoyed the tomato salad and gazpacho the most but we did enjoy all the cold salads. We then got sweet corn on the cob with tomato butter and pecorino cheese. The last hot vegetarian dish was kohlrabi with sun dried tomatoes which was very good but we were so full, we didn't manage to finish it. We finished by sharing two desserts, a chocolate mousse with a chocolate wafer which wasn't particularly tasty but the other dessert: a lemon curd with green tomato granita topping, uwas excellent and unique and made up for the chocolate mousse. Mandfred's had a hipster vibe with great energy and a casual non-rush attitude. We had great service and we thought it was a fun and unique meal and would definitely recommend it!

I was coming to Copenhagen as a birthday trip and for my birthday dinner we decided on Manfreds. Great choice!!!We took the 7 course tasting menu plus the tartare and ordered the accompanying natural wines. Good thing we arrived hungry! Manfreds is the sister restaurant of the Michelin star restaurant Relae across the street and carries with it a lot of the same philosophy - local, seasonal, organic vegetables and meats. The food in itself is a bit rustic, but the techniques are modern. The wine is also worth noting - Manfreds is Copenhagen's first natural wine bar. Natural wine is different than organic wine because nothing has been added or taken away whereas other wines may be manipulated during the winemaking process (adding a certain yeast, etc.). The taste is very special and complemented the food well. The ambience and atmosphere is very cozy. And at only 35 euros for 7 courses - the quality/price value is incomparable!

Heard good things about this restaurant. Was here mid day for a light brunch and got a seat inside the restaurant. Had to wait quite some time before getting to order, and that is in spite of me sitting just next to the reception area. I ordered the egg benedict and got to wait quite some time for that to arrive as well. When it did arrive I noticed that it was just the egg and some salad. I remembered reading on the menu that it should include rye bread as well and while waiting I had plenty of time to study the other people getting their dishes and there I noticed they also got rye bread with their benedicts. So they somehow forgot that on mine. Even though, the food tasted really good with plenty of flavour. Since it was quite hard getting service I decided to get up and wait by the cash register to pay. While I waited (tend to be doing a lot of waiting it seems) here I got to study the other benedicts getting rye bread as well. ;) So quite a negative experience for me this first time.

It's a good restaurant with a hygge atmosphere and nice waiters (whom most of them are French and Italian) The cool tables are the closes to the kitchen, where you have a prime view to the dishes being prepared by the cooks. Bear in mind that if you choose a table close to the kitchen, it would be a bit more noise than the other ones though. The prices are reasonable (menu / without dessert nor drinks for 275kr.) The only CON of this place: they don't have air extractor, so the smoke of food is pretty intense!

Romaine salad dressed with vinagrette of cherry and pistachio

Forgot to post this review. It's 8 months late Very good food, service, and view. I did the chef's tasting menu (lunch version). It started out with sourdough bread from Mirella's bakery. It was very fluffy and really good. The beet root was also excellent. It had a honey, lemon, and thyme infused olive oil vinaigrette and was topped with french sorrel. It was extremely good. It was sweet, but also had some salt and the sorrel was nice. The cucumber dish was topped with cream made with nasturtium. It reminded me of a smoothie. Very refreshing, although a little boring taste wise. Beef tartare mixed with spinach and crumbled rye bread. I got the medium and was able to finish it by myself, but it was pretty generous. It had a nice texture when eaten with the sourdough bread. There was a cream on bottom that did a lot for the dish, as well as spinach. Helped with the heaviness of the meat. Romaine salad dressed with vinagrette of cherry and pistachio. This was pretty good. It wasn't amazing, but had a nice taste. Cauliflower with anchoivy sauce on bottom and capers. Not sure why this combo was chosen. The cauliflower was well cooked, but the capers and anchovy sauce made it pretty fishy. Boy choy, salsa verde, hollondaise, and oregano. This was not very good. The flavors didn't seem to go together. Very oily. Spring onions, roasted cabbage, and herb salad This was very good. It had an asian taste to it. The onions were sweet and the dressing was very good. Just enough flavor to complement the salad. The cabbage was roasted well. Would definitely recommend. Some of the dishes were a little off, but overall it was great

Arrived at 10:30 on Sunday morning with a reservation that most definitely wasn't required. We sat outside with our three-year old daughter next to a few young families, each more tattooed and beardy than the next. The tea was a revelation, the coffee delectable, and the food absolutely fantastic. Pro tip for parents: There's plenty of pavement for your child to impress the locals with his alcohol-fueled Pollock-esque chalk art. P.S. This review is for takeout only! Manfreds is so cute and cool, but it was a busy Saturday night with no space to sit. And we discovered that food to go is 45 dkk cheaper per dish, so that sealed the deal and we decided to get take out. The gentleman at the front was kind enough to translate the Danish menu into English for me (they have some stuff written on chalkboards since it's forever changing). They told us 10 minutes (awesome!!) and it was hot and ready when we came back to pick it up. After a quick walk home, we quickly indulged and inhaled our meals. So. Good. For 180 dkk we got the vegetarian meal of the day, and also the meat one. The portions were very generous and we both could have had leftovers, were it not for our gluttony/the dog helping. The carrots were perfectly cooked. Not too soft, good amount of crunch. It was topped with amazing fresh goats cheese over some barley and greens. However or whatever they cooked that barley in was amazzzzzing. My friend enjoyed the beef dish. She said it was the most tender beef she's ever eaten, after eating around the gelatinous stuffs. She found her parsnips to be a bit undercooked but I liked them. Also, her lentils (maybe?) were cooked in something rich and delicious as well. I definitely want to come back!

He's probably the most good-looking chef in Denmark.

Good here makes all dopamine in my brain do wild dance. It's too good to put in words. Their meticulous preparation and perfect presentation lead to all colorful taste buds explosion on my palate. I love this restaurant. I love Nørrebropark. Copenhagen just became more wonderful. Plus the chef looks so cute :)

I am visiting Copenhagen for the first time! It's has not so recently become a culinary hub so I wanted to try a good balance of local favorites and Michelin restaurants. This was my first night's reservation (108 tomorrow) and honestly it was a disappointment. I originally wanted to go to it's sister restaurant Baest but couldn't find a reservation. Given this is mostly vegetarian I was excited for colorful flavorful dishes. My dishes were mostly green and beige, barring one carrot dish which was organic and beige. Every single dish has a lemon based sauce. I have never had such a monotone flavor through 7 courses. Also why was I given 7 savory courses and not a dessert? They also have a popular bread and the sourdough bread was from there but it was stone cold. This place got 3 stars because of excellent service, staff and a good glass of wine.

Ended up at Bibendum on Friday night after a dinner nearby and a strong urge to share a bottle and discuss a variety of topics that tend to hit the table when you have a girl's night with one of your closest friends. Lucky for us there was one table left in an otherwise crowded and jolly establishment, and over some candlelight and a bottle of rosé, we dished out the juicy details of our recent lives confident that the architecture of this basement bar would absorb our stories before the tables nearby did. A perfect place for a night out with your favorite friend, but I think just about anybody would be thrilled to say they spent their Friday night here. Pro-tip: come early if you want cold wine - Friday night they apparently sold so much rosé that by the time we got there at 10pm there weren't any completely chilled bottles left, and they didn't have anything to make it colder apart from available time and an empty wine cooler. Thus, my reason for 4 stars, though not entirely their fault - on a summer night they should probably consider planning ahead and stock the freezer. :)

I have found one of my new favorite bars in the city. And best part of all, it's close to my work!…read more I commend them on their concept, and good opening. I hope they can keep up the momentum. Downstairs is the underground, gritty part which is more prohibition style, in the sense that people would hide away in dark basements. The lighting is low with exposed brick walls. Very hyggelig. The drink selection downstairs is your low tier spirits, beer, and house wine. They have my favorite mason jar lighting, and they serve the single mixes in mason jars. You go upstairs and you have brighter lighting, nice chandeliers, and lamps, with the high end liquors, yummy cocktails, beer and wine. The bartenders are great and know their stuff. But I have to admit hands down that they have nice tap list and not the usual bodega fares with easy pilsner and some yellow-ish lager. With the location just across Torvehallerne, it makes craft beer drinking even easier this way. When they announced that they have Evil Twin's Imperial Biscotti Break on tap, I just had to visit and drag two fellow drinkers Mina K and Anders A with me. Their tap list was mostly dominated by IPA when we were there this week and only two stouts *sobs* but it was nice of them to put up the ratebeer score on the list so it would spare some beer geeks' time to look it up on their app. Free water by the bar and a nice friendly bartender although the inside could be a bit too dark and bodega-ish to me. Whatever, if they have nice things on tap again, I would brace myself to scoot over Torvehallerne to this place again.
